After leaving the cloth store, Mo Kai took Bai Yao to have lunch. Bai Yao was so happy to taste the fresh dishes. Mo Kai brought her to the top restaurant of the capital city. Bai Yao once heard that if you are not from the royal family or the n.o.bles, you should find someone on the high-end to help you book a seat.

Bai Yao thought Mo Kai must have pre-ordered ahead of time.

The strong smell of good wine spread out from the restaurant just as they stepped in. Bai Yao sighed. “Now I know why the restaurant calls itself Top Wine.”

Mo Kai smiled and let her in. “Lady Bai, please.”

She went with Mo Kai to the best room, which was facing the north, with winds blowing in, making the ineffable fragrance of the orchid blooms endless. Bai Yao was like a child curious about everything, especially in Mo Kai’s eyes.

Mo Kai had already pre-ordered all the dishes, and they were just waiting for the waiter to bring them up. Bai Yao was sitting beside the window, looking down at the carriages and people.

He found her grave mood and thus went near to ask, “What makes you so interested, Lady Bai?”

Bai Yao answered, “Second Prince, I am looking at the people on the street. Though they are not rich, according to their dresses, they are so happy and tare ruly laughing all the way. How I hope I can be one of them.”

Mo Kai wasn’t prepared for this answer. He lifted an eyebrow and said, “Lady Bai, I never think you are so simple.” How I hope you can bring back memories, the same as you.

“Second Prince, you are joking with me.”

The waiter brought them some dishes during their dialogue.

Mo Kai invited her to try the foods, and Bai Yao nodded. He didn’t know if she would like to have alcohol, so he prepared only water for her.

But Bai Yao suddenly asked, “Second Prince, may I have some wine?”

Mo Kai was surprised by this. “Lady Bai, have you drank wine before?”

Bai Yao was also curious. So, did I know how to drink wine before losingmy  memory? But she could only reply, “I drink a little.”

Mo Kai asked the waiter to bring her some light wine.

Bai Yao again felt strange and asked, “Is my wine different from yours?”

He stared at the wine in his cup and said, “Sure. My wine is strong but smells good. I asked the waiter to bring you another drink so you won’t get drunk.”

She smiled. “So, Second Prince, you are so thoughtful. I bet many girls like you.”

He laughed. “Now it’s your turn to making fun of me. I enjoy traveling among the mountains and waters. Poems are more suitable for me.”

She smiled with an expression of disbelief.

Then they began to talk about poems while the were eating the food, and found they had so many similarities.

After the dinner, Mo Kai thought of a place he wanted to take Bai Yao to, so he said, “I know a place you would be happy with.”

Bai Yao was a little confused.

“Allow me to save this as a secret. Let me take you there directly.”

Bai Yao followed his steps to go back to their carriage.

In the vehicle, Bai Yao looked around at the street scenes, enjoying her happiness. Mo Kai, however, thought that his father was a good emperor, thus the residents lived good lives, and he hoped he could protect them in the future like his father.

Soon they arrived at the place Mo Kai mentioned. Bai Yao guessed it must be a very beautiful place, but Mo Kai took out a white cloth to cover her eyes. At the moment, Bai Yao thought Mo Kai was also naive, but she didn’t say this.

The maid took her hand to bring her to the destination. After several minutes, the maid said they were there.

Bai Yao took away the cloth. She found a huge sea of flowers, beautifully in full bloom. She was lost in it in a minute.

Mo Kai said, “This is a place I found when I was a kid. Every year, during this time, all the flowers will bloom and make this an immortal heaven. Do you like it?”

Bai Yao was so happy and laughed deep from her heart. “Sure! I have never seen such a sea of flowers. Thanks, Second Prince. By the way, do you know what kind of flowers they are? Who planted them? I want some seeds.”

“Lady Bai, n.o.body planted them. They are wild. This place has good weather and the best spirits, thus it brings out such a beautiful sea. If you enjoy them, you can come here frequently. This place always makes me feel refreshed and return to quietness.”

Bai Yu was joyful with her day without Bai Yao. But when she found the sun coming down and Bai Yao would get back soon, she turned back to her miserableness and ill temper.

Ningxiang came up to comfort her. “Lady, the first lady is not your match. The Prince will not like her. Before marriage, she goes out with a strange young man. If this rumor ran into his ears, this marriage would not be accepted. Ningxiang is by your side, lady, always.”

Bai Yu felt much better when she heard this. But her eyes were still malicious. Bai Yao, I won’t let you be happy. Wait and see!

When Mo Kai brought back Bai Yao, the old prime minister had just left the court. He bowed to Mo Kai and greeted, saying, “Good to see you, Second Prince. Thank you for seeing Yao back. Would you like to come in to have tea?”

“Prime Minister, I still have some business, so let’s find another time.” Mo Kai rejected the invitation with careful thought.

Looking at his back, Bai Yao lifted up her lips. The Second Prince is not bad, she thought.
