Satsuki was in a good mood.
However little it may be, she became a part of that sweet, tender boy. He even complimented her in her ap.r.o.n. Her heart skipped a beat thinking about what tomorrow might bring.
Satsuki lives in a traditional j.a.panese estate. Pa.s.sing through the front gates revealed to her a frightening sight.
An expressionless stepsister stood in the entranceway.
Satsuki and Amane were stepsiblings—they shared the same father, but not mothers; their father remarried before Satsuki was born. Hence, their faces and figures are completely different to each other.
Satsuki resembles her mother quite a lot though; she definitely inherited her beauty. And then—
“The h.e.l.l you s.p.a.cing out for, Satsuki?”
Her voice is frigid cold. It isn’t a tone you would use with your sister, blood-related or not.
“You went over to Yamanaka’s place, right? … did you get laid?”
Satsuki went wide-eyed.
“N-No. It was an innoce—”
“Don’t you talk back to me.”
Contempt spewed straight from her mouth, coming directly from her heart. Chills ran down Satsuki’s spine.
That is Amane’s voice when she gets angry. But, why? Even though earlier—when Satsuki managed to gather all her courage to tell her that she was going over to Tooru’s place—Amane said nothing at all.
Amidst Satsuki’s confusion, Amane closes their physical distance. And then…
Thud! A crash.
Taking full brunt of the impact, Satsuki fell on her backside. A dull pain shoots up her hips.
“Amane…”
“Even though you’re so wily? How disappointing. That Yamanaka Tooru must be some kind of a limp-d.i.c.k f.a.ggot.”
“Hold on, he’s not—”
“I said not to talk back!”
She bellowed out her words. If Satsuki objects any more than this, she might receive more than just nasty words again.
Perhaps satisfied with Satsuki’s silence, Amane looked into her eyes and sneered.
“I said nothing when you went because I was hoping you would’ve raped by that Yamanaka. Shame about that.”
“… Amane…”
“… what a bore. But whatever. All guys are animals. Sooner or later, you’ll see. I’m looking forward to it.”
Amane heads back inside. But before closing the front door on her stepsister, she looks back and calls out to her.
“I’ll be watching you. In the meantime, though, you’d better behave. And I shouldn’t need to tell you this but put some ice over your face. You don’t want anyone suspecting anything, right?!”
Satsuki watches the front door get slammed then hangs her head down.
There are no more tears to shed. This is normal.
It’s always violent for Satsuki whenever anything gets on Amane’s nerves. Their mother is powerless against it and their father turns a blind eye.
There is no one to help Satsuki.
“Hey, Miyamoto.”
Her last sliver of happiness. Tooru’s voice echoes in her head.
Yes, this is nothing. As long as Tooru is there for her, she can overcome anything. Satsuki can always get back up on her feet.
Satsuki stands up and makes sure neither Amane nor her father were in the entranceway before heading inside.
