Little Cutie, Come Here (7)

Xie Fei deftly put his phone in his pocket, glancing at the test papers on his desk in the same movement. He stood up leisurely, his cool gaze flicking towards Jiang Hui. The corner of his mouth hooked up. "I don't have experience, but I have a memorizing trick. It's up to whether your luck is good or not."

"Oh?" Jiang Hui laughed coldly. "My luck has been pretty good lately."

The two of them went back and forth, Jiang Hui's gaze icy cold. Everyone finally noticed their interactions were as though they were fighting with their swords drawn and bows bent. In a second, the cla.s.sroom went dead silent. Su Yin furrowed her eyebrows, biting the end of her pencil and looking at Xie Fei with worry.

Tang Xuehui was the first to return to his senses. He laughed dryly, urging, "Then let's have Cla.s.smate Xie Fei share his memory trick, alright? Uh… which subject is it for?"

As he spoke, there were already cl.u.s.ters of students who had flipped open their notebooks, ready to start taking notes. Su Yin also looked towards Xie Fei expectantly. Zhou Zhiwei and Liu Yan sprawled on Xie Fei's desk, looking like obedient babies. Only Jiang Hui looked at Xie Fei with a sneer.

"It's good for any subject," Xie Fei said, composed. "When three are long, pick the shortest. When three are short, pick the longest. When the lengths differ, choose B. When they're uneven, pick D. When they're all long, pick A. When they're all short, pick C."

Su Yin followed along in writing it down. She was partway through before she realized something was off. She turned to look in shock at the person still speaking leisurely. "…"

Tang Xuehui was also following the rhythm. He nodded in approval twice before he stopped, the muscles on his face twitching and his face turning purple.

The rest of the students all looked at Xie Fei, stupefied. Only Zhou Zhiwei and Liu Yan were cheerfully scribbling down notes.

After a long silence, everyone slowly came back to their senses. They started quietly discussing with their neighbors. "I didn't hear wrong, right? School Tyrant Xie just said… the memory trick that you can find online?"

"It should be, I heard that too."

"It can't be that School Tyrant Xie actually guessed? If it's really like that, then his luck is too good!"

"So what if he got lucky this time? He can't get lucky every time. The most important thing for college examinations is still your own strength."

"You're right, in the end it's still Jiang Hui who's awesome, top students really are top students…"

Jiang Hui smirked, c.o.c.king his eyebrows in satisfaction. He snorted disdainfully and said righteously, "Teacher Tang, Xie Fei is obviously taking all of us as monkeys to play around with. Does he think that coming up with some random rhyme is enough to fool us? In my opinion, if it he didn't guess on the test, then he copied. Based on his grades, there's no way he could get a hundred percent accuracy."

Tang Xuehui didn't believe in Xie Fei much to begin with. As soon as Jiang Hui spoke, he believed in his words. With his expression solemn, he thought of Xie Fei a proper reprimand, then thought of Xie Fei's high status, and in the end held himself back. He raised his hand, waving at Xie Fei. "You can sit down—"

Before he finished speaking, Xie Fei's number one fanboy Liu Yan stood up with a crash. Brandis.h.i.+ng the test papers at Jiang Hui, he loudly retorted, "You're the one who guessed! My big bro said the truth, you're a dead blind man! Take a look for yourself, what question didn't follow this pattern?"

One after the other, everyone took out the test to look through at. If they hadn't looked, they wouldn't have known, but as soon as they looked, they were given a shock—this was f.u.c.king crazy! Every question really did follow the pattern.

"c.r.a.p, I really am blind! School Tyrant Xie is a f.u.c.king G.o.d."

"As expected of School Tyrant Xie, this is a G.o.d of knowledge, isn't it? As soon as I get home, I'll set up a shrine for him and pray to him every day. Skill isn't enough, so I'll get luck to add to it!"

"We'll all wors.h.i.+p, we'll all wors.h.i.+p! School Tyrant Xie is the light in my life!"

"Believe in Fei-ge, get good grades!"

In the midst of the conversation, Jiang Hui's hands clenched into fists, his eyes wide and fierce, as though he wanted to swallow the test papers whole. His lip quivering, he mumbled, "No— no way… There's no way…"

Wei Xiaoqin was given a shock by Jiang Hui's strangeness. She covered Jiang Hui's trembling hands, anxious and distressed. She consoled, "Jiang Hui, listen to me. It's just luck. He just got lucky this time. As for real skill, there's no way he can beat you. The difference between you is like heaven and earth."

"Is it? Is it just luck?" Jiang Hui looked towards Wei Xiaoqin, breathing heavily.

"Yes, it's just luck." Wei Xiaoqin nodded firmly. "There's probably only this one time. I won't believe that he can be this lucky forever. The college examination looks at real skill."

"Yes. Yes, you're right. Xiaoqin, thank you." Jiang Hui had seen the light. He nodded, smiling at Wei Xiaoqin. His smile was gentle and soft.

The sound of marvelling and reverent sighs came frequently from the surroundings. Jiang Hui frowned. When he raised his head, he saw Tang Xuehui standing at the podium in shock. Unhappily, he jeered, “It's just a coincidence. This just means he's lucky. We just don't know if this luck can keep going until the college exams.”

Tang Xuehui also thought it was a coincidence. He took his pointer, meaning to have everyone quiet down, when someone acted different from his intentions. Zhou Zhiwei's voice came bursting out. “How is this luck! Can you get full points on short answer with just luck?”

“Exactly, my big bro obviously has luck and real skill combined. He fully deserves the t.i.tle of Yizhong's overlord, without compet.i.tion from before or in the future. My Fei-ge is Cla.s.s 1's glory, Yizhong's hope and our country's future!” Fanboy Liu Yan's eyes sparkled, spouting out exuberant praise in a steady flow. Please read at yanyantls dot wordpress dot com. If you are reading this elsewhere, it has been stolen from me.

With the two of them singing the same tune, Tang Xuehui realized it really was like this. Whether Xie Fei's multiple choice answers were luck or knowledge, getting full points on the short answers was real skill. Xie Fei's skill didn't need to be discussed. As for his luck, based on today, not only was it pretty good, it was simply overflowing!

Tang Xuehui became excited. He had taught Xie Fei this excellence. Without even talking about the great reward Xie family would give him, he would have a great ranking in the future. He would become tremendously superior. There was even less of a need to talk about the equally excellent Jiang Hui.

The smile on Tang Xuehui's face grew wider and wider. He said exuberantly, "Liu Yan is right. Cla.s.smate Xie Fei has both knowledge and luck. Jiang Hui, you don't need to be suspicious of any cheating. There were three teachers proctoring the test, and we checked everyone before they entered the testing room. There wouldn't be any problems."

Just as he finished, the cla.s.s bell rang. Tang Xuehui was in a good mood and in a rush to report to the director of the grade, so he dismissed cla.s.s as soon as the bell rang. The students immediately started packing their backpacks and preparing to go home.

Jiang Hui was angry enough to vomit blood. What did Tang Xuehui mean that he didn't need to be suspicious? This was obviously slapping his face!

He sat stiffly in his seat, his expression steely and his hands clenched tightly into fists. The buzzing of his cla.s.smates' chattering sounded in his ears. Jiang Hui didn't dare to move, trying to reduce his presence, but he still felt those people's eyes staring at him.

Were they pitying, were they jeering, or were they taking pleasure in his misfortune?

He didn't need it. He, Jiang Hui, didn't need it! He had finally shook off these pitying gazes, why… why had they come back!

In this moment, Jiang Hui utterly loathed Xie Fei. It was all because of him, because he had messed up everything. He, Jiang Hui, would absolutely never let him go. Jiang Hui absolutely wouldn't return to his original life.

As soon as Jiang Hui glared over, his gaze full of hate, Xie Fei raised his eyes to glance at him indifferently. He laughed, silently saying, "You've lost. My luck is better than yours. My skills aren't too bad either."

"f.u.c.k off, you just wait," Jiang Hui replied, gritting his teeth, his thin lips pursed tightly.

Xie Fei raised an eyebrow, leaning back lazily in his chair. His left forefinger crooked at him: Come at me.

Jiang Hui's fists clenched so tightly his knuckles cracked. He glared hatefully at Xie Fei. After a long time, he shouldered his backpack and left the cla.s.sroom.

Wei Xiaoqin saw Jiang Hui leave in huffily. Pinching her schoolbag, she was about to run after him. As she walked to the door, she saw Su Yin putting her stuff away out of the side of her eye. Her footsteps paused. Frowning, she hesitated for a moment, and in the end she turned around and walked towards Su Yin.

"Su… Susu, I— I have something to say to you. Let's leave together," Wei Xiaoqin mumbled, clenching the straps of her backpack tightly. She walked by Xie Fei's desk, her legs growing wobbly under the predatory gazes of the school tyrants.

Su Yin's movements paused. She could guess that Wei Xiaoqin wanted to explain why she hadn't sat next to Su Yin earlier. She didn't really want to listen. No matter what kind of explanation it was, in the end, it was that their friends.h.i.+p wasn't enough.

Wei Xiaoqin was chasing after her crush. There wasn't anything wrong with that. Su Yin wasn't really that angry. She was just disappointed, disappointed in their friends.h.i.+p. She didn't want to keep this kind of friends.h.i.+p that would break with a single pull.

In a relations.h.i.+p, whether it was love or friends.h.i.+p, as soon as a third party came in, in the end there would be someone hurt. And Su Yin could feel that she would be that someone who was hurt.

She had made up her mind. Su Yin raised her head to look at Wei Xiaoqin. "Forget about it…"

"Susu…" Wei Xiaoqin cut her off with a quiet shout, her eyes glimmering with hazy tears.

Seeing Wei Xiaoqin crying like a pear blossom bathed in rain, Su Yin's rejection couldn't come out anymore. This was her one and only friend. Her face would always be filled with a warm smile, she would always share little secrets with Su Yin, they would eat together, listen to songs together… In the end, she still had some feelings that couldn't be worn away. It wasn't something that could be erased in a single day. She sighed, nodding. "Fine."

When she finished putting away her things, Su Yin stood up to leave. Xie Fei also stood up, turning to let her pa.s.s. Just as she walked past him, his shadow completely enveloped her, as if she was wrapped in his embrace.

His warm breath gently swept over her head. His clean and pleasant scent lingered in her nose. Su Yin's face suddenly turned red, her heart unable to help speeding up.

Xie Fei suddenly raised his hand to pull over her wrist. His hand was cool, but a tingling softness came from where he was holding Su Yin's hand, just like a small electric current running between their hands.

Xie Fei's fingertips rubbed against Su Yin's skin, the softness of his fingertips teasing her heartstrings. With her entire body tingling, her heart beating faster and faster, and her face turning slightly hot, Su Yin's sparkling eyes blinked up at him, meeting his cool eyes.

Focused and loving, cool but still tender.

"See you Sunday," Xie Fei said in a low voice only the two of them could hear.

His brow held a hint of a smile, his voice low and pleasant. Su Yin was immediately mesmerized. She stared at him in a daze without responding. Xie Fei squeezed her hand slightly, discontent, raising an eyebrow. "Hmm?" His hum was sweet and seductive, and even had a bit of a coy flavor.

Su Yin abruptly returned to her senses. She secretly swallowed her saliva. She nodded, her face flushed. "See you Sunday."

Her voice was sticky-soft. Her tender little hand stayed obediently in his large palm. Xie Fei couldn't resist squeezing again before he let go. He patted her head lightly. "Get home safe."

Su Yin pursed her lips, humming an agreement, then ran away, her face red. She even forgot about Wei Xiaoqin waiting for her.

Xie Fei watched her figure from behind, his lip slightly quirked. Zhou Zhiwei covered his eyes, howling, "Violating common decency in broad daylight."

Liu Yan also covered his eyes and howled, "A disgrace to the educated, right in front of everyone."

Luo Jiang joined in on the fun. "Public morals are declining day by day, right before a big crowd."

Xie Fei slightly smiled, mocking, "The envy of single dogs."Please read at yanyantls dot wordpress dot com. If you are reading this elsewhere, it has been stolen from me.

Yang Jie watched them putting on a show, not knowing whether to cry or to laugh. He grabbed Zhou Zhiwei, who was feigning indignance, and schooled his face before asking, "About Jiang Hui, do you guys have something in mind?"

Zhou Zhiwei and the others fought like they were eating meals, so their senses were much keener than the average person.Of course they saw Xie Fei and Jiang Hui's confrontation. Now, hearing Yang Jie ask, Zhou Zhiwei immediately said, "He's got the body of a chronically ill patient, laozi's really afraid we'll beat him to death. How about we just get someone to teach him a lesson?"

Xie Fei cooly said, "This is a harmonious society. We're the next generation of good, advocates of peace. How can we hurt our country's youth?"

Zhou Zhiwei: "…" What kind of d.a.m.n joke was this? They were a gang of school tyrants, since when did they become good? What was this about advocates for peace? This hat was a little bit big, he probably couldn't bear it.

Who would have thought that Xie Fei would continue, "It's only interesting to defeat the enemy in his own territory, isn't it?"

"Dangerous, really dangerous," Yang Jie leaned against the door, dribbling a basketball. He jeered, "Jiang Hui is definitely going to be furious."

"How good would that be. Anyway, you won't die if you get angry," Luo Jiang snickered.

Zhou Zhiwei squatted silently on his chair. He felt that his own feelings had been cheated. He glared at Xie Fei, looking like a little daughter-in-law. Wronged, he said, "If I f.u.c.king believe your lies again then I'm your grandson."

Luo Jiang and Yang Jie howled with laughter. Liu Yan made a noise of surprise. "Wei-ge, you've become Fei-ge's grandson? Well, I'm Fei-ge's little bro, so don't you need to call me grandpa?"

Zhou Zhiwei raged. "Grandpa, your father's f.u.c.king grandpa! You little b.a.s.t.a.r.d, laozi thinks you're looking to get your a.s.s beat. You even want to take up laozi's kindness!"

Liu Yan pouted, wronged. "…You were the one who said it yourself, hmph."

"Don't make trouble anymore." Yang Jie waved his hand. "Let's go play ball."

Zhou Zhiwei and Liu Yan immediately became like brothers, going arm-in-arm to play ball.

At the same time, Wei Xiaoqin chased after Su Yin, panting heavily. She shouted, "Susu, wait for me! Slow down, Susu."

Su Yin ran all the way outside the school and faced the blowing wind before her hot face slowly returned to normal. She stood at the stairs, letting out a heavy breath of air, before she turned around and saw Wei Xiaoqin behind her.

"Don't hurry, I won't run anymore." Seeing Wei Xiaoqin's pale face, Su Yin suddenly remembered her heart disease and hurried to help support her.

The two of them sat next to the flower terrace. Su Yin gently patted Wei Xiaoqin's back. For a moment, n.o.body spoke. There was only the sound of Wei Xiaoqin's heavy breathing.

Wei Xiaoqin turned her head to look at Su Yin's beautiful side profile. She thought back to the ambiguous atmosphere between her and Xie Fei. As expected, the treatment when you were pretty was different. When Xie Fei first spoke to her, his att.i.tude was completely horribile.

She bit her lip and couldn't resist. Half curious and half envious, she asked, "Susu, are you and Xie Fei together now?"

Su Yin looked at her weirdly, shaking her head. "No."

"Susu, are you still my friend? I didn't hide a single secret from you. Even if you and Xie Fei are together, I won't tell everyone about it," Wei Xiaoqin complained. She pouted, not believing Su Yin.

"We really aren't. If you don't believe me then whatever," Su Yin said earnestly.

Wei Xiaoqin bit her lip. She asked hesitantly, "Then why is he so close to you? It can't be that he likes you, right?"

"It—it shouldn't be." Su Yin's face turned red. Her heart beat rapidly, her hands unconsciously twisting the corner of her clothes. Her voice was hesitant but happy.

Actually, Su Yin could feel the special way Xie Fei treated her, but she didn't dare to believe it. She was afraid everything was just her reading too much into things. She didn't have people skills to begin with, nor did she have a family background worthy of being proud of. All she knew was to study, study, and study some more. What about her was worthy of Xie Fei liking?

Wei Xiaoqin secretly felt a bit sour. Su Yin's expression clearly told her that she didn't think Xie Fei liked her either. As expected, being pretty was great. It was easy to get boys to fall in love with you. Chasing after the boy you liked was probably the same, huh? It wasn't like Wei Xiaoqin, who would to hesitate time and time again before she even dared to say a word.

Still, Su Yin's vision was really poor. She even liked such a fiendish and scary school tyrant. This was good, too. She wouldn't have a chance to fight Wei Xiaoqin for Jiang Hui.

Wei Xiaoqin's mood became better as she thought. Trying to sound Su Yin out, she asked, "Susu, you like Xie Fei, don't you?"

"I…" Su Yin's face turned completely red. Even the tips of her ears were rosy. Her mind went blank, then a light bulb lit up in her head. She blurted, "Did you just come to me to talk about this?"

"Huh?" Wei Xiaoqin looked at her, frustrated, then shook her head. "Of course not, I came to apologize to you." After a pause, she continued, "Susu, I'm sorry that I left you alone. But I really, really like Jiang Hui. When I saw the seat next to him was empty, I couldn't hold myself back and went over." Wei Xiaoqin pulled Su Yin's hand, her eyes frenzied and expectant. "Susu, now you know what it's like to like someone. You'll forgive me, right? We're still good friends, aren't we?"

Su Yin looked at her in shock. She hadn't thought Wei Xiaoqin liked Jiang Hui to the point of this craziness. But since the time she discovered her and Wei Xiaoqin's relations.h.i.+p wasn't as good as she had thought it was, this didn't have anything to do with her anymore.

"Xiaoqin, I don't blame you. This is your right, you don't need me to forgive you." Su Yin smiled. "We're still friends."

Just normal friends. Please read at yanyantls dot wordpress dot com. If you are reading this elsewhere, it has been stolen from me.

Wei Xiaoqin's heart relaxed. She smiled happily, the expression on her face just like the brilliant and warm smile that she had on when they first met.

The weekend pa.s.sed by quickly. On Sunday night, when Xie Fei got to the cla.s.sroom, everyone was cl.u.s.tered in groups of twos and threes. If they weren't chatting, they were borrowing homework from everywhere to copy.

In the noisy cla.s.sroom, it was only quiet and peaceful where Su Yin was sitting. She was reading, her head slightly lowered and her beautiful hair draped across her back. She had probably just washed her hair, because the strands were slightly wet. At her temples, a few strands of hair framed her fair face. She wore a pale blue cotton skirt that made her skin look even brighter. Her long neck and elegant clavicle was just enough to be enchanting.

Xie Fei pulled out his chair, propping his chin on one hand and turning to look at Su Yin with a smile.

Su Yin shyly pursed her lips, smiling slightly. "Hi."

Xie Fei extended his legs towards Su Yin's side, pulling his chair closer to her. He leaned closer to her, smiling affectionately. "Hi. You look good in skirts."

Su Yin's face turned red. Her hands went to twist at her skirt. She opened her mouth, but didn't know what to say. After a long time, she finally spit out a single phrase, completely bashful: "Thank you."

Seeing her soft and fluffy appearance, Xie Fei's heart softened in turn. He covered his mouth with a fist, laughing lowly. His eyes were full of laughter and pampering.

The night cla.s.s bell rang. Everyone went back to their seats one by one, and Tang Xuehui came into the cla.s.sroom holding a textbook. After he spoke about the plans for the next nighttime study session, he sat at the podium and started preparing the lesson materials. The cla.s.sroom was completely quiet except for the sound of pages flipping.

Xie Fei was focused on playing Tetris when a paper ball suddenly appeared on his desk. He looked up. Zhou Zhiwei was sprawled one desk ahead, his notebook propped up in front of him. He stared at Xie Fei, smiling widely.

Xie Fei opened the paper ball. There was only one line: Fei-ge, did you do the homework? Let me copy it.

Xie Fei snorted. He took a pen from Su Yin's desk and wrote a sentence in reply: f.u.c.k off, have you ever seen a school tyrant doing homework?

Zhou Zhiwei's smile froze. He grumbled, "Didn't you become a school G.o.d? I thought you'd do your homework. What were you saying about becoming good youths, it was f.u.c.king nonsense."

Xie Fei snorted again. "A school G.o.d isn't a school tyrant? Good youths aren't school tyrants?"

"Then, Fei-ge, can you ask Su-jie for her homework to copy?" As he spoke, he clapped his hand togethers in prayer, making a begging movement.

Xie Fei paused. He turned his head to poke Su Yin's waist subtly. She jumped. The heat of his finger pa.s.sed through the thin fabric of her fabric, and her waist was extremely sensitive. Her entire body s.h.i.+vered, and her heart suddenly sped up. Even her breathing became slightly heavier.

Su Yin coughed slightly, looking towards Xie Fei with forced calm. "What?"

"Let me borrow your homework to copy," Xie Fei said.

He still wanted to copy her homework? Please read at yanyantls dot wordpress dot com. If you are reading this elsewhere, it has been stolen from me.

How could this be okay? She couldn't let him get in these bad habits. Or how about she helped him with homework?

She hesitated for a bit, then Su Yin puffed her cheeks and said resolutely, "No, do it yourself. If you don't get it, I can teach you."

Xie Fei paused, turning to look at her. He laughed, "You want to… teach me?"

Su Yin raised her head. "Can't I? Your grades aren't as good as mine. I—I can't teach you?" Her voice lowered, obviously unconfident.

"Alright, you teach me." Xie Fei thought for a second, then put his phone in his pocket, moving his chair closer to Su Yin.

Su Yin felt a breath of hot air coming towards her, wrapping her completely in itself. A red flush flew onto her face. She pushed Xie Fei slightly with her left hand, protesting cutely, "Why'd you come so close to me?"

"It's convenient to talk like this, so we don't bother other people." Xie Fei caught her hand on his chest, laughing quietly.

Because they were too close together, when Xie Fei spoke, his breath puffed against Su Yin's ears. The tips of her ears immediately went completely red, turning hot.

Xie Fei looked at her shy, red face. She had her head was lowered adorably, not daring to look at him, and he couldn't resist laughing quietly.

The two of them were in the back flirting. Zhou Zhiwei, sitting one seat in front, saw them and filled with anger. He couldn't resist cursing quietly, "Xie Fei, laozi told you to borrow homework, I didn't f.u.c.king tell you to do PDA. You're bullying laozi for not having a partner, huh?!"

The author has something to say:
Liu Yan (waving his handkerchief): Wei-ge, your partner1 is here~~~~~
(thanking people for support)
Ha, six thousand words in this chapter, I've made up what I owed yesterday~~ Wis.h.i.+ng all the the big friends a happy Children's Day, (づ ̄ 3 ̄)づ

T/N: …uh, yeah, it's not Wednesday. I'm super sorry about the lateness but basically life happened, I didn't have any chapters stockpiled, and also this chapter's long. A million thanks for your patience and happy Thanksgiving to those of you in America like me! I'm about to spend the rest of my break alternating between loafing around and translating the next chapters lol. Also I can't believe Su Yin was shocked by the heat of Xie Fei's finger and not like, I dunno, the actual action of poking. Like who can tell body heat by a single fingertip??

1↩: Kind of a pun, maybe? The actual word is 對象 (duixiang), which can mean significant other (boyfriend/girlfriend) but also target, object, partner, and so on. I think the handkerchief waving is referring to those super dramatic boat farewell scenes with a guy and a girl (the girl is waving the handkerchief, lol).
