Mu Rusen and Mu Rulin had long-time friends at Liu Silan. They all shared the same hobbies, like racing cars and motorcycles.
Atop the twisting mountain road, a group of girls and boys were reveling. This place was a popular gathering spot for student racers from both elite schools in K City.
"Aren't these our tactful little brothers Mu Rusen and Mu Rulin?" A young man walked to the Liu Silan side and spoke disdainfully.
On top of a sharp black motorcycle, Mu Rusen was leisurely strapping on his black gloves, while Mu Rulin was checking each part of the vehicle. Both brothers, no matter in personality or in hobby, were like a spear and a s.h.i.+eld. One was good at attacking, while the other was good at defending.
Mu Rusen heard this and raised his gaze to look at that young boy who had come purposefully to pick a fight. "You really don't ever learn, do you, An Youming."
An Youming smiled devilishly and flattened his hair with his hand. "Of course, I don't have any inclination to become a dog; how could I do act like you wish?" Translated by The Novelst
Mu Rusen squinted while An Youming smiled even deeper. The atmosphere seemed on the verge of cracking.
The two schools had been rivals in many different categories, except of course in academics, since Mu Rulan had been the crown jewel of Liu Silan for many years. One of those categories was racing.
After the headmasters of both schools had realized that their students had begun to gather to race cars, the two schools had joined to purchase the rights to use the road in order to ensure the safety of their students. They took care of the safety measures, which was the only reason that Mu Rulan allowed her two brothers to partic.i.p.ate in such an event.
"Heh… I've successfully wooed Zhou Yaya," Mu Rusen said lowly, stepping forward to b.u.mp his shoulder to An Youming's.
Then he stepped back, like nothing had happened. Mu Rusen was smiling, but An Youming had an ugly expression.
Looking at Mu Rusen's departing figure, An Youming unwillingly ground out, "Oi, are you serious?"
"Brother." Just as An Youming finished speaking, An Zuozuo pulled Zhou Yaya out of the crowd. It was her first time coming to this kind of place, with so many people and so much noise; her face had turned even colder.
When Zhou Yaya saw Mu Rusen sitting on his bike, the corner of her mouth softened a bit. It was her first time seeing Mu Rusen without his school uniform on.
Suddenly, she felt her chest burning, her heart skipping a beat. This sensation was familiar to her; the first time she'd felt it was when Mu Rusen had walked past her cla.s.s and blown a whistle toward her.
Zhou Yaya scanned the area and noticed Mu Rusen looking at a girl, so she stepped forcefully forward like royalty and went to his side. She stretched out her hand to interlace their fingers.
Mu Rusen furrowed his brow, wanting to withdraw his hand, but Zhou Yaya pasted on a smile and held even tighter, the pressure making his bones ache.
"Sen, we're a couple now. You can't act like we're strangers," said Zhou Yaya.
Mu Rusen's brow furrowed even more. He looked at his hand being clenched so tightly by Zhou Yaya but somehow felt disgusted. He had paused after hearing her words, and subconsciously he turned to look at his younger brother.
Mu Rulin was checking the backside of the bike. He noticed the Mu Rusen's strong gaze and pushed up his gla.s.ses slightly. "Since the both of you are a couple already, you guys can go further. Hand-holding doesn't mean anything."
Go further? Mu Rusen hadn't even thought about it. But those words made him feel like he had no choice but to suppress his disgust. In his heard, he mumbled unhappily: What was wrong with Mu Rulin these days? He pulled Zhou Yaya into anything they did now. It was also Mu Rulin this time who had called Zhou Yaya to attend this event, telling him to show off his pretty girlfriend to everyone and let her experience a ride on the bike…
But how was Zhou Yaya prettier than his sister? He would only let sister sit behind him.
An Youming's eyes went wide and glaring; he looked at An Zuozuo beside him and asked softly, "Are Zhou Yaya and Mu Rusen really a couple now?"
An Zuozuo smiled happily and nodded her head, while An Youming's face suddenly turned gray.
"Wooo…" Translated by The Novelst
Mu Rusen wore his helmet and readied himself on the bike, while Mu Rulin spoke lightly from the side, "There are a couple dings on the bike, but no worries. Pay attention to the obstacles when you turn and you can push the accelerator to the max but it'll keep going for two seconds."
"Got it," replied Mu Rusen. He started the bike and began to move to the starting line when he felt a sudden warm pressure at his waist. Mu Rusen turned around quickly to see Zhou Yaya was grabbing his waist while trying to climb on to the bike.
Unconsciously his brows furrowed again and without a second thought he scolded, "Don't get on!"
His voice wasn't very loud but everyone around them had heard, their expressions all very uncomfortable.
Zhou Yaya remained in her position, her leg still in the air. She was surprised after being shouted at by Mu Rusen. Zhou Yaya's face turned ugly and she quickly lowered her leg but they both remained very awkward.
Just now she'd used this action to announce to everyone her relations.h.i.+p with Mu Rusen, but in the span of a few seconds, Mu Rusen had forbidden her from getting on behind him. Who didn't know that racers usually didn't let just anyone sit in the rear seat? Only those close to the racer had the right to sit in that seat.
Mu Rulin took a glance at Mu Rusen who seemed unable to explain himself. Slowly, he said, "Sen is not used to having someone sit behind him. You guys will get used to it in the future."
"Is that so? Then why don't we start today?" Zhou Yaya scanned the girls that were looking laughingly at her, her red lips pouting slightly.
The domineering girl didn't want to give Mu Rusen another chance to reject her, so she tried to climb on the bike once more. Unexpectedly, she was pulled back by Mu Rulin.
Behind his gla.s.ses, Mu Rulin's eyes seemed deep and serene. His tone was solemn when he said, "Sen hasn't ridden with someone on the bike with him yet. If you don't want to fall off you better stay here. You can go with him when he's a little more practiced."
Zhou Yaya's face turned even uglier, but she didn't try again. Mu Rusen's face finally smoothed out. He pushed the acceleration down and drove to the starting line.
