“Bai Languo?” The person in charge scanned his list and looked sympathetic. What a sad-looking candidate... not only is she small, her name is also at the end. He asked, “do you have a reference letter?”
“I do! I have my teacher’s letter.” Languo rushed forward while holding a tattered piece of paper. The women in front of her didn’t make room though, they were all lined up closely, forcing her to push and squeeze. Before she almost made it out of the crowd, someone tripped her.
“Aiya!” Languo fell face-first after a pathetic yelp.
Loud laughter came from all around her.
She must have fallen not too elegantly, and at someone’s feet too. As soon as she looked up, she could see a luxurious pair of boots woven with black and gold dragons. So what? Whoever owned them wasn’t nice enough to help her up, even if he didn’t laugh at her.
Languo felt wronged and sad, but she still gritted her teeth and got up off the floor.
She didn’t count on falling again.
This time, no one tripped her. It was her own fault as she was mesmerized by the owner of the boots. When he appeared in her vision, Languo though he was a G.o.d. How could he be this good-looking? His eyes were as deep as the Mariana Trench and his nose was taller than the Himalaya Mountains. Of course she was using a.n.a.logies, and the comparison was a bit extreme. The fact is, he was as gorgeous as a fallen G.o.d. His sharp eyebrows and seductive lips made her want to take a bite. His face, chiseled and shapely, made her want to caress him.
So she was so stunned by his looks that she fell again before she could get up properly.
“Ha ha ha...” More laughter was directed at her.
Languo sighed. These women were mocking her, but it was her fault she was so easily enchanted. So he’s a good-looking guy, but she’d not forgive him for not helping her up at all!
Who was he? He dressed so brightly and sat facing the north, while everyone else just stood around him. Did he think he was the prince? He looked to be in his early 20s, so he couldn’t be a father of a five-year-old. If he was, he’d have to had the kid when he was fourteen or fifteen, and that was too early.
She had so many questions. After she finally got up, she met the man’s disdainful gaze and asked, “are you married?”
The man was shocked, he didn’t antic.i.p.ate this question.
“Outrageous! How dare you be rude in front of the prince?” Someone next to the man, probably an aide, barked at her.
Oh no! He really is the prince? How can he have a five-year-old daughter? Is he wearing makeup to look younger? It doesn’t seem like he is.
Languo was so scared she could only stare at the prince. She didn’t kowtow to beg for forgiveness, she just looked at him, which seemed even ruder to everyone present.
The prince’s aide raised his leg to kick at Languo...
