The Traitor of the Hero Party

Prologue

A scenery from h.e.l.l spread in front of my eyes.

Men and women of all ages, even those who would die if left alone or could not survive by themselves, were all a target to their blades.

No, talking about it as if it's somebody else's problem is weird.

Why? Because I am on the side which is attacking the innocent villagers….

"I am just your convoy. And besides, I don't know much about machine soldiers."

I answered the man bluntly.

The man standing beside me wearing a white robe and spectacles was Luis Agnom. The brains which gave birth to the machine soldiers, famed to be the best in the continent.

The people call him 'The man who sold his heart to the devil'.

s.h.i.+fting my vision from Luis to up front, I saw one of the machine soldiers pierce a brave man with a spear, who was charging towards them with a sword.

Luis' invention, the demon's toy–machine soldiers.

I don’t quite understand how they work as I am not a specialist on them but simply told, they are just as the word implies, machine soldiers who have a special stone called the magic stone as their core and listen to anything the person with the code says.

Unintentionally, my eyes met with the man who was pierced just now. Looks like he was still alive.

Just kill him with one hit. Don't make them suffer pointlessly.

If it was me….

"Oh, no-don't do anything, Grim Reaper. You're my convoy, aren't you?"

"…….I understand."

Disgusting b.a.s.t.a.r.d. He is enjoying how his toys kill the humans.

The man stretched his hands towards me.

Begging for your life, eh… Sorry, but nothing will change even if I do move now. You will die anyway.

"….Please, save –guaah!!"

The machine soldier pierced the man's back. And kept on piercing again and again.

"That's good, that's good! As expected of my cute machine soldier-chan!"

Showing his delight, the man next to me kept jumping up and down. d.a.m.n it.

No, more importantly… that man just now, what was he saying at the end….

"I won't let you do as you please! Lulu, run!"

"Mom? What is this weird thing? Why is dad lying over there?"

Holding her little daughter's hand, the mother came out of the house.

Looks like she plans on using herself as a s.h.i.+eld to let her daughter escape. And they are probably that man's family.

The daughter froze in place seeing her father's dead body.

Well, either way, there are dozens of machine soldiers and even more of the kingdom's soldiers. Even if the mother insists on protecting her daughter, she can't escape.

"That little girl, did she just call my machine soldier weird?! Machine soldier! Tear that girl apart!"

You rotten fiend.. Don't go giving such bulls.h.i.+t orders!

Hearing the command, five of the machine soldiers went rus.h.i.+ng towards the mother and daughter.

"Aah, no!"

Taking a slash from the machine soldier, the mother was cut into half.

"Mo-mom..?! Eh..Eh? Ah… Ahhhhhhhhhh!!"

The daughter screamed and collapsed on the spot. She probably fainted.

But, paying that no heed, another machine soldier pointed its spear towards the girl.

The machine soldier's spear… did not pierce the girl.

The spear was still as if time had stopped. Being disturbed, the machine soldier tried pus.h.i.+ng and pulling, but the spear did not move an inch.

To let them know that it was me who did that, I walked towards the soldier and the girl.

"You foolish grim reaaaappeerrrr!!!!"

"It's over. I won't let you hurt this girl."

"If you apologize immediately, I will forgive you, grim reaper! Immediately!"

"You fiend, call off your order right now. I have my strings laid all over here already. If you don't want your precious soldiers to be destroyed, hurry up."

Luis' face kept getting red with anger.

"Know your place!! Kill him, machine soldiers!"

To think this person is a genius… The world still has ways to go.

"I did warn you."

All the machine soldiers rus.h.i.+ng towards me crumbled to pieces.

"Offuuuuuaaaaa?!!?"

Letting out a weird shriek, Luis also fell to the ground like the daughter.

The other soldiers came rus.h.i.+ng…. And I let myself get caught without resisting.
