Chapter 94 - a.s.sistant
The forum His Majesty the emperor was looking at was ‘Xiaotang Moon’.
Song Xiao’s lips quirked. “What’s this?”
“Oh, a forum.” Yu Tang quickly scrolled to the bottom of the post, which was basically ‘begging for photos’, ‘begging for the truth’, and ‘begging for a follow up’, but the poster didn’t say anything. Yu Tang closed the webpage, switched to a business doc.u.ment, and started reading.
Song Xiao: “…Your Majesty, you have to be focused when you do things.”
Yu Tang looked up at him, thought for a moment, then said, “Qing is right.” Consequently, he locked the tablet, threw it aside, then turned around to press Song Xiao down.
“Wu, what are you doing?” Song Xiao sunk down into the soft bedding and blinked in confusion.
“When copulating with the empress, one must focus,” Yu Tang said with an innocent face. “You said so.”
“I wasn’t talking about that!” Song Xiao hastily pushed at him, but Yu Tang didn’t stop, and pressed closer relentlessly to kiss the hollow of Song Xiao’s neck. “Your Majesty, it’s currently the mourning period!”
Yu Tang paused in his kisses, and he propped himself up to look down at Song Xiao.
Song Xiao pursed his lips. Even though he didn’t want to bring up this matter, the emperor’s father had just pa.s.sed away, so it was better to be a little more mindful.
“Who said zhen is in mourning?” Yu Tang raised his eyebrows, and without further ado, tore open Song Xiao’s pyjamas.
“En? En…”
Before he could understand what the emperor meant, Song Xiao couldn’t speak anymore.
The morning sun slipped in through the crack between the curtains. Song Xiao rubbed his eyes and sat up. Yu Tang had already gone to the company, and breakfast – a sandwich and a cup of cold milk – was already sitting on the table.
Of course, Yu Tang hadn’t made the sandwich; it had been bought outside. Yu Tang was only responsible for taking it out from the freezer to thaw, and Song Xiao would reheat it himself after he got up.
He sluggishly got out of bed and took a shower. As he placed the sandwich in the microwave oven, he picked up the memo on the table to read.
On the yellow, little bear memo, a large ‘Don’t be late to work’ was written in bold, cursive writing.
“En?!” Song Xiao’s eyes widened, and their conversation from last night suddenly popped into his head.
“From tomorrow onwards, come to Dayu to be zhen’s a.s.sistant.”
“Why?”
“It’s part of the body selling contract.”
Because this semester was coming to an end and Song Xiao had just returned to the country, he didn’t have to take the final exam and had long become idle. Yu Tang took out the contract he had signed back then and demanded that Song Xiao go work at Yinyu Building. Song Xiao had resisted for a time, but was mercilessly suppressed by the tyrant, and could only surrender.
He looked at the clock on the wall; it was already eight-thirty. If he went to work now, he would definitely be late.
Yinyu Building was located in the centre of the capital and was a distance away from where they lived. Yu Tang had driven to work earlier on and hadn’t brought Song Xiao along.
Song Xiao ground his teeth and threw the memo into the trash can as he unhurriedly began to eat breakfast. After eating, he selected a normal suit to wear, and walked out to… ride the subway.
“There’s a new a.s.sistant coming today; take him to sort out the entry procedure,” Yu Tang said to the secretary by the door in pa.s.sing when he entered the office.
“Yes, chairman.” The secretary, Miss Jin, was the chief secretary here. She was only 27 years old, but was very capable. She had originally been the head of Dayu Capital’s administrative department, and had been directly promoted by Yu Tang.
When the young ladies in the secretary room heard that a new employee was going to show up, they began to guess what sort of person she was.
“It’s already this late and she’s still not here. This newbie is pretty daring ah.” Everyone looked at the time. It was already ten.
“What do you know – this is the golden rule for ‘attracting the chairman’,” a young lady said earnestly. “One must be late on the first day of work; only then can they get the chairman’s attention ah!”
Secretary Jin looked at this innocent and fearless girl, and shook her head.
It was past ten o’clock when the elevator ‘ding’ed. Everyone in the secretary room stuck their necks out to look, and the silver elevator doors slowly opened.
It was a little dim inside the elevator, and the person inside was standing in one corner, so it was hard to see what she looked like. It had to be someone as pure as a lotus, seeing as they didn’t have a sense of presence. When she shyly stepped out of the elevator, what awaited her would be a major turning point in her life.
With the sound of light footsteps, out of the elevator walked… Dugu An, dressed in black.
“a.s.sistant Dugu ah…” The girls’ shoulders slumped with disappointment.
Dugu An acutely sensed the s.h.i.+ft in the secretaries’ mood, but after determining that there was no murderous intent and that this change wasn’t detrimental to the emperor, he decided to ignore it, and walked right into Yu Tang’s office.
“Ai, what time is it already? Did that newbie plan to grab lunch first?”
“She’s coming, she’s coming!”
The other elevator came up. It was the chairman’s exclusive elevator that only the chairman could use. Unexpectedly, there was someone daring enough to use it!
–
“h.e.l.lo, I’m here to see Chairman Yu.” Song Xiao walked to the reception desk and asked for directions with a faint smile.
“Do you have an appointment?” Women generally wouldn’t be able to resist the smile of a jade-like gentleman, and the receptionist girl blushed as she asked the question politely.
“No,” Song Xiao replied honestly. “I’m his new a.s.sistant, here to report for work today.”
“Then apologies, we can’t give you an elevator card if you don’t have an appointment,” the receptionist said apologetically. In all honesty, she didn’t have the heart to reject this hottie, but there was always someone pretending to be the chairman’s a.s.sistant and asking to go upstairs. The public elevator required the use of a card, which would take a person only to the floor that their office was on, or to communal areas like the meeting room. Visitors were required to register at the front desk before receiving the corresponding elevator card.
“No worries, I have one.” Song Xiao smiled and took out the elevator card Yu Tang had left for him that morning, then walked straight to the chairman’s exclusive elevator.
The receptionist’s long hair instantly turned frazzled.
At that time, Secretary Jin had already picked up the receptionist’s frantic call, as the latter told her that someone had entered the chairman’s exclusive elevator. She unhurriedly got up and stood by the elevator doors.
“Ding —” The elevator doors opened once more and Song Xiao strode out.
“Ah!” The secretaries were so surprised that their jaws almost touched the floor. Where was the pure, new, white lotus a.s.sistant? Why was it a great hottie?
“Are you the chairman’s new a.s.sistant? I’m Secretary Jin.” Business-like, Secretary Jin introduced herself.
“h.e.l.lo, I’m Song Xiao.” Song Xiao politely shook hands with Secretary Jin.
“The chairman asked me to take you to the HR department to sort out the procedure. Please follow me.” Secretary Jin led Song Xiao downstairs.
News that Song Xiao, whom Secretary Jin brought to HR, had the chairman’s exclusive elevator card spread throughout the entire company, and everyone tried to guess Song Xiao’s ident.i.ty. Dayu was the Yu family’s enterprise, and was inseparable with the chairman; perhaps he was a relative, or the chairman’s good friend.
There were all kinds of guesses, but no one guessed that he was the chairman’s lover.
With an employee card around his neck, Song Xiao opened the door and entered the chairman’s office. Yu Tang was signing a stack of doc.u.ments, while Dugu An was sitting at a small desk in the corner, tapping on the computer. Who knew what he was busy with.
Seeing Song Xiao enter, Dugu An stood up and saluted, then sat back down.
Song Xiao nodded in return, then walked to Yu Tang’s side. “What does a chairman’s a.s.sistant do?”
Yu Tang paused while signing, then lifted his head to look at Dugu An.
Dugu An immediately searched for the required details online, then took a screenshot, which he sent to the emperor.
Yu Tang looked at the screen and said with a serious face, “Pour tea, categorise doc.u.ments, act as zhen’s a.s.sistant, and in pa.s.sing… accept the hara.s.sment in the chairman’s office.”

Fish Tang: This doesn’t apply to me
Xiaoxiao: Why?
