I came long and hard on a growl before pulling out and lifting her with her legs around my waist so she could enjoy the remnants of my still hard c.o.c.k. I walked us to the shower so we could kill two birds with one stone. She kissed the h.e.l.l out of me as I held us both under the warm spray of water while pulling her up and down on my c.o.c.k that refused to deflate.

"You got work?" I held her head back as we kept f.u.c.king each other like it was a compet.i.tion to see who could bring who off next. I wasn't looking for anything more this go around, this was just for her greedy a.s.s to get all she could out of her man. "Uh-uh."

"Fine, we'll go see about your ring later after I get back."

When she had rubbed her p.u.s.s.y raw being greedy I cleaned her up while she tried to get some life out of my d.i.c.k. "He's done for now babe, give him a couple hours I need sleep." I was tired as f.u.c.k after the long night and there was no way she was getting anything more out of me right now. She pouted but behaved herself long enough to soap up my c.o.c.k and clean me up like I'd done her.

Chapter 11.

She left me in the bed and went to clean the house or some s.h.i.+t. She hadn't asked what Deanna had been after, she wouldn't, she knew better. As much as I hate Deanna's a.s.s, Lily knows that my only dealings with her are about my kid and she knows there're no questions when it comes to that s.h.i.+t. I don't give her any reason to be jealous of my ex or any other woman for that matter, we've had that conversation in the beginning too.

I give as good as I get. She's not allowed to have dealings with other men unless it's work related and I hold to the same bargain. I wasn't about to feel that burn again for no one and I could give a f.u.c.k what anyone thinks about my stand. I don't want my woman getting close to anything with a d.i.c.k. My boys knew to keep a respectful distance unless they wanted to lose a f.u.c.king limb, and they were the only ones allowed around her in any kind of social setting.

One of the swinging d.i.c.ks at the hospital where she did her rounds have already felt my wrath when he got too close, and I guess the word had spread after I jacked his a.s.s up. Now I don't have to worry about that s.h.i.+t. Lily got her a.s.s spanked for making the wrong call in that situation; the wrong call being to give the dude her number to get him off her back. The fact that she explained that s.h.i.+t to me after the fact and before anything could come of it was neither here nor there. There was a way to do everything and that wasn't it. Now she knows and I don't expect any repeats in the future.

I slept for five solid and then rolled out of bed around one. It was a little late to be getting started but it was the best I could do. Lily was nowhere to be found, there was a note on the fridge saying that she'd gone on some errands. I got dressed and headed for my first place aThe Golden Goose to take care of some paperwork.

The place was doing okay for the lunch hour. Even with the economy in the toilet I hadn't really felt the pinch because cops always needed to eat, and since they seemed to see my place as a second home or some s.h.i.+t that meant business stayed flowing.

"Hey Ryan what's been going on today?" I caught up with my day manager on the line in the kitchen helping the guys get the food out in time. That's the kinda s.h.i.+t I like to see, I've had to get rid of a few a.s.sholes who thought management meant hanging out at the front of the house on their phone or hitting on my wait staff.

"It's been steady all afternoon boss, there's some kind of convention or something in town because there's a lot of out of town business types in house." The noise back here was a far cry from the quiet of the dining room that I'd just walked through.

When I first opened this place, I was thinking more along the lines of a small bar and grill, but Lily had had other ideas when she came along. She claimed that we could do more with the location, so we'd built on an extension and expanded the place.

My girl for all that she was a kick a.s.s doctor had a great head for business. She did a lot of the hiring for my places, maybe that's why most of my staff was either single mothers, or down on their luck housewives trying to make ends meet in this f.u.c.ked up world. It was fun watching some buxom blonde trying to land a spot in one of my joints.

Lily was ever professional, but I knew that no matter how qualified that person might be there was no way she was getting in. Not that she hired unattractive women, far from it. But she wasn't taking any chances and I didn't blame her. Best to avoid bulls.h.i.+t from the get, though I did give her a hard time about it in jest.

Now I was glad I'd gone with her suggestions not only with this place but the others as well. My last place was more family-oriented though The Goose would do in a pinch. But my last place was bought with Holly in mind. The second one most respectable citizens steered clear of. Only a few adventurous souls dared cross those doors, them or the bunny hoppers that were drawn to men of a certain ilk. That's where my boys hung out, as well as some of the MCs from the surrounding areas.

All in all the three places kept in the black and my bank was set for a while at least, but who knows how that s.h.i.+t would go. One of Deanna's issues was that when we were together she had to live on a cop's salary, and though that hadn't been so bad, it was nothing compared to what I made now.

It burned her the f.u.c.k up that there was no way for her to get her hands on my money. That everything I had was in Holly and Lily's names. That's one of the first things I'd done when we split, took her name off of every insurance policy I had. Where she was getting health insurance from these days I didn't know and didn't really care. But I wasn't about to leave her a.s.s as the beneficiary on my life insurance. I don't trust her a.s.s as far as I can see her.

"I'll be in the office if anyone needs me." I headed down the stairs in the back, which led to my bas.e.m.e.nt office. I'd had the place fitted out with all the creature comforts, never mind it was in the midst of storage and freezers and s.h.i.+t. It was the only place that made sense for an office the size I preferred and as luck would have it there was a private entrance leading from the outside, where my boys could come and go if they didn't want to be seen, which was more often than not. They tend to be a secretive bunch.

The numbers from the night before looked good business was running on point, which was always a good thing. I guess Ryan was right about a business convention being in town, because the night manager had made a note of unusually high traffic for a weeknight the night before. I hadn't been aware of anything going down in the area but that was nothing strange. Since hanging up my cop clothes there was a lot I wasn't privy to these days though some of my old pals kept me pretty much in the loop. On the other hand I knew pretty much about every crime that was going down within a hundred mile radius before the bra.s.s did. It's a strange f.u.c.king world.

I did some ordering and restocking for the coming weeks, went through payroll and dealt with any issues that needed it. If something needed tending to whichever manager that had been there at the time would leave me a note, unless it was serious enough that they needed me on hand, then I'd get a call to come down.

I had eyes on all my places so that I could watch from my laptop wherever I went, which only a few people knew about, it made for some strange conversations. I liked the fact that my staff thought I was all seeing. It kept their a.s.ses on their toes. It only took once or twice of me rehas.h.i.+ng something that had gone down verbatim for them to get the idea that there was something else going on other than word of mouth. That coupled with my no nonsense hard as nails approach usually kept them on their best behavior. Once they learned the truth about whether my reputation was honestly earned or just hype, they usually behaved themselves out of fear of reprisal. Can't ask for more than that, that's why my drawers were never short and no one was sneaking my supplies out the backdoor.

After making the rounds at my other places it was time to focus on my woman. Pulling my phone I called the house and got her on the third ring.

"You ready short stuff?" She sounded excited as f.u.c.k on the other end and I wondered why the h.e.l.l I'd taken so long?

As a man, this sort of s.h.i.+t was really par for the course. You find a woman that fits you, you put a ring on her finger for convention sake; it wasn't supposed to be a big deal. The hearts and flowers s.h.i.+t was for the woman right? But her excitement was making me feel all giddy and s.h.i.+t, like I wanted it to be more than just a party. "I've been waiting for you hurry up."

"I'm almost to the door, you riding or you want to take the car?"

"I'm wearing a short skirt."

"We'll take the truck."

I hung up on her bark of laughter at my expense. The only time she was allowed on the back of my bike is when she's wearing jeans. No skirts no dresses, nothing that can fly up with the wind and show off what's mine. The other sisters might get away with that s.h.i.+t, but that was between them and their men.

She came through the door as soon as I revved the engine outside. I had a sweet dodge ram that was perfect for hauling s.h.i.+t. It would've been a man's truck if not for the fire engine red color that the women in my life had picked out.

Holly and Lily, they pretty much owned my a.s.s and they knew it. On their own they ran circles around me, together they were a force to be reckoned with. "I was thinking we should get lil bit in on this." I told her as I put the truck in gear and headed down the driveway.

"No question, she's going to be so excited. We've been picking out dresses and everything for a while."

"Say what now?" this was news to me. How could they have been picking out s.h.i.+t when I'd only just asked her this morning? I reached across the console for her hand and lifted it for a kiss h.e.l.lo. "Yeah, we've been planning the wedding for a few months now." She hid a smirk as she turned her head out the window.

"I didn't ask months ago." Was I missing something here?

"Hayden, if I waited around for you to ask we might never have got here. I'm surprised you even thought if it. Holly and I had the talk, I had to square it away with her first after all, and we decided that the best course of action was to do things ourselves and just tell you about it when the time was right. I'm glad you came to the same conclusion on your own though, it feels better this way."

"Babe, if you wanted to get married why didn't you just say so?" She looked at me like I was the village dunce, touchy a.s.s woman. "Hold that thought let me call Deanna and let her know we're coming." Deanna can be a real pain where Lily is concerned.

This morning's theatrics wasn't the first time she'd spewed off at the mouth about Lily and Holly having contact, but we both know that the condition of our custody deal leaned more heavily in my favor than hers and that I was the one giving her a chance to be the mother she claimed she wanted to be.

Every once in a while she forgot that s.h.i.+t and spouted off like she'd lost her d.a.m.n mind. I'm sure she knew I'd never do anything to harm my kid and that's why she thought she could get away with s.h.i.+t, but I have the paperwork back home in a safe that could overturn her apple cart any day.

Chapter 12.

For the second time that day I found myself having to deal with my ex, a situation that was known to put me in a f.u.c.ked up mood.

"Deanna is Holly awake?"

"Yes, why?"

"Tell her I'm coming to get her..."

""Why what's going on? it's not your weekend."

"Don't be stupid, just have her dressed and ready when I get there."

"Why? tell me what's going on."

There was really no point in hiding the s.h.i.+t, she'd find out sooner or later anyway. "I'm taking her to help me pick out a ring for her stepmother." The silence on the other end was answer enough. Even with all the s.h.i.+t she'd done I never wanted to hurt her, she was still the mother of my kid, but her hurt feelings weren't going to stop me from going on with my life.

She hung up on me, which meant she was going to try to make me jump through hoops to get my kid out of the house. We pulled up and I left Lily in the truck while I went to the door. The two women weren't exactly friendly towards each other and it was never a good idea to let them have too much exposure to one another. For all her catholic schoolgirl upbringing Lily was a sc.r.a.pper, she didn't take s.h.i.+t and she hated Deanna's guts. Not least of all because of the s.h.i.+t she'd done to me. To say Lily was protective of her man would be an understatement.

I could see from her expression that she'd pretty much gaged the gist of the conversation from Deanna's end and she wasn't looking too pleased. It was my job to smooth out the rough edges and hope that my ex had enough sense not to start s.h.i.+t in front of my kid. I also was not about to let her spoil Lily's day. I had enough sense left to know that that is some s.h.i.+t that I'd never hear the end of for the next fifty f.u.c.king years. Women can hold a grudge like n.o.body's business.

She took her sweet time answering the door and when she finally did she tried blocking my way. "We're not doing this Deanna where's Holly?"

"She's not going anywhere and just so you know she has one mother and that b.i.t.c.h will never be her mother step or otherwise."

"You sure you want to play this game? Because we both know you'll never win. Now I've always tried to be human when dealing with you even though you don't deserve that s.h.i.+t, but this right here is not about to happen. You can either let me take my kid to the f.u.c.king store and bring her back after I've fed her, or I can take her and all her s.h.i.+t right now as is my right. What's it gonna be?"

She puffed up like a game hen but all the rage in the world wasn't going to alter my course. She made the choice a long time ago to part ways, unless she thought I was dumb enough to f.u.c.k her after I found out she was cheating on me. I'm sure there're some men who forgive and forget that s.h.i.+t but I wasn't one of them and she should've known that s.h.i.+t.

She'd tried many times to convince me that she'd only done it to get a rise out of me, to get me to love her like I had in the beginning. How the f.u.c.k that s.h.i.+t played out in her head was a mystery. Since the divorce she's been making f.u.c.ked up decision after f.u.c.ked up decision, but nothing yet that const.i.tuted me taking her child away from her. But we both knew if she pushed me too far that s.h.i.+t was a done deal.

Now she was turning on the waterworks, it never failed. When her rages and accusations didn't work she resorted to the oldest female trick in the book. Too bad for her, that s.h.i.+t meant nothing to me. Now the other one was losing her f.u.c.king mind too. I looked back over my shoulder at the blaring of the car horn. Lily was looking dead at me with her aI'm not in the mood' face on. What the f.u.c.k? I glared her a.s.s into submission and she eased up off the horn.

Turning back to Deanna I eased her out of the way and went in search of Holly. "Lil bit where you at?" she came running and yelling for me from the back, where it looked like she'd been rolling in the mud. I couldn't hold back the grin that broke across my face. Nothing in the world meant more than this little bundle of energy. She started talking as soon as I picked her up and kissed her little cheek. My heart melted when she hugged my neck and laid her head on my shoulder. "Daddy."

I headed for her bathroom to clean her up while she regaled me with tales of her adventures in the backyard with the new poodle I'd bought her. Her mother had b.i.t.c.hed about the extra work when I bought the dog a couple weeks ago but that s.h.i.+t had gone in one ear and out the other. It was because of her that I couldn't be here for my kid twenty four seven so whatever I had to do to make up for that s.h.i.+t she'd just have to suck it the f.u.c.k up.

Deanna followed us around the house as I changed her clothes and showed my daughter how to lace up her shoes like a big girl. I could feel the anger coming off of her in waves but she knew well enough to keep that s.h.i.+t in check around my child. I pretended that her a.s.s wasn't there because really, what was there to say?

We made it out of the house without incident and it only took me five minutes to talk Holly into leaving her pet home. The two girls started gabbing at each other and I felt myself settle. Holly might be too young to understand the significance of her father buying another woman a ring but I wanted her there. She was a part of all the important things in my life and this was no different.

One of the things I loved so much about Lily was the way she accepted that fact and seemed to appreciate it herself. She knew that as much as I loved her, that little girl held a special place in my heart that no one else would ever reach.

"I have a great idea, why don't we get Holly a cute little ring of her own?"

Huh?

"That way she doesn't feel left out."

"You want me to buy my three year old daughter a diamond ring?"

"No silly, they make rings for little girls too you know. I just thought it would be fun and she can feel like part of what we're doing today."

"That might actually be a good idea." This way we can undermine any sabotage Deanna might have in mind. She has been known in the past to pull some shady s.h.i.+t to try to make Holly hate Lily. I never want to go through that f.u.c.king headache again.

It wasn't easy trying to convince your baby daughter that daddy loved her more than anything when someone else that she trusted had filled her head with bulls.h.i.+t. I'd had to put the brakes on my relations.h.i.+p with Lily for a few weeks that time. It was the first time I'd realized the lengths my ex would go to to get her way. After I'd convinced my little princess that no one was going to take daddy away I had had to work on smoothing that s.h.i.+t out. In the end it had backfired on her mother though, because their bond was now stronger than ever before.

A three-year old diamond shopping would put your a.s.s in the poor house, just saying. She liked the big s.h.i.+ny ones, typical girl, and Lily wasn't much better. Lucky for both their a.s.ses daddy came prepared with the black card or there would've been some embarra.s.sed people walking around that store.

My places are doing well enough that I could afford to get my girl the ring she wanted. In fact we were doing better than I expected after the stories I'd heard about how long it takes a new business to be in the black. The money I was banking now made my cop's pay look like child's play even though as a detective and then later lieutenant that hadn't been too shabby either.

But these days, the kind of money I made could cover the four and five carat rocks my girls were mooning over. I know this was going to be a problem for Deanna now too, and I was going to have to deal with her s.h.i.+t in the coming weeks until things settled down again. Every time she thought I was doing something for Lily that I hadn't done for her during our marriage she loses her s.h.i.+t, which makes no sense to me whatsoever.

She never wanted for anything when she was with me, but she knows had we made it she would be able to live way above what she was now. The only reason she could afford to live where she did now was because of my daughter and she knows it.

You see we live in one of those states that says if a man or woman is caught f.u.c.king around on their spouse, then that spouse pretty much gets to clean their clock in the divorce, basically she's a.s.s out. You'd think with that s.h.i.+t hanging over her head not to mention the fact that I won sole custody of Holly that she'd straighten up and fly right, but no. Every once in a while she shows her a.s.s and gets slapped down.

When my girls were through picking out their baubles and I'd fed them I ran them back home. Holly wanted to stay a little longer so I called her mom and dealt with her bulls.h.i.+t while I was on my way to a meet. Sid and Dwayne were on ice but that didn't mean our jobs were done. One of the things you never see on the news or in the TV specials is the fact that these a.s.sholes have family and friends that believe in their innocence and are sometimes willing to go to great lengths to get them out of whatever jam they find themselves in.

With the court date just days away the heat was on. We had a list of his nearest and dearest and there were eyes on the few we thought might be trouble. So far no one had done anything to raise any flags but there were whispers about jailhouse talk. One of the best grapevines in the world could be found in prisons across the country. I don't know how these f.u.c.ks pulled that s.h.i.+t off, but more than once they'd proven to have more information than those of us on the outside. As a cop I'd pulled on that thread plenty, now as an MC leader I had other uses for it.

I run my crew like PD. I have a fugitive task force, a S.W.A.T. team and men and women in place who are trained to deal with victims of domestic violence and child abuse.

Each team has a lieutenant who reports back to me, because since we keep expanding that's the best way to handle s.h.i.+t. Every OP is run like a well-oiled machine and there's no room for f.u.c.k-ups. If s.h.i.+t goes south, which it seldom does, and I have the need for protection for my boys, I call in Jake.

Deke, D'angelo, Stryder, and their boys Marcel and Nate were waiting for me at the clubhouse. The house was more like a compound with a few buildings scattered here and there. There was a safe house for those severe cases when we were dealing with an especially vicious a.s.shole who was set on total destruction.

There was a bike shop where some of the guys were getting a business off the ground, a repair shop, a gaming hall and a few that needed to be kept under wraps from my former colleagues. I had no problem whatsoever with that s.h.i.+t, I'd seen first hand how much the system didn't always work, and where the holes were that needed patching.

With that in mind I'd been the one to spearhead our little operation here when it came to security and our weapons cache. Everything was registered according to the law, well that's my story anyway, what the f.u.c.k. I have a daughter to protect there's no way I'm leaving that s.h.i.+t in anyone else's hands. If the law doesn't want their criminal element being taken out by vigilante justice then they should keep their a.s.ses off the streets among decent citizens. If they're out here f.u.c.king up s.h.i.+t then they can deal with the consequences.

I've drawn the line at out and out murder, though I have no problem maiming a f.u.c.ker and putting him out of commission for life. Sometimes I find that that's even worst. This way they get to live with the error of their ways. For the sheer viciousness of Dwayne's attack on Stephanie and the others that they'd found with his handiwork, I was willing to turn off my conscience. Evil like that needed eliminating there was no rehab for that kind of wicked.

"You guys got everything in order?" To a man they nodded their heads letting me know that they were ready. We all learn from experience and as time has gone by we've learned what to expect from the type of element we're dealing with. There isn't much a man won't do to retain his freedom and Dwayne had proven that he was willing to go to any lengths to keep his. Too bad he had chosen to rape and try to murder a little girl in my backyard.

Now that that kid had survived having her throat slit and being left in a field like trash to draw her last breath, he and some of his misguided pals were seeking ways to finish her off before she could testify against him. The piece a s.h.i.+t hadn't left much behind in the way of DNA or anything else that they could use in court, so this poor little mite was faced with the added horror of picking him out in a court of law.

"Any word on Sid and his nuts?" I gave Deke a look, which I knew wouldn't do any good, to which he shrugged his shoulders and took a swig of his beer. "He'll be fine, I thought we were here to talk strategy."

Hardheaded little f.u.c.k, he was as cold as they came but somehow had a heart of gold when it came to kids, in fact I think he might be Holly's favorite person, after her old man that is.

"Okay then, moving right along, we have twenty strong for Tuesday but we can easily double that number if there's a need. Five inside and the others outside surrounding the place just in case this a.s.shole carries through with his threats. I want someone on the roof across the way, that should be Nelson he's got the best arm."

"He's already been tapped Blade, this isn't our first time at the Rodeo."

"I know that Stryder but we all know each situation is different and must be dealt with accordingly. We can't leave any stone unturned."

"By the way Cowboy is getting antsy, says looking at that fat f.u.c.k day in and day out without slitting his throat goes against his creed."

"Tell your brother to cool his jets Deke."

"Fine, but I don't see why we can't just off the f.u.c.k right now and be done with it."

"Because Stephanie needs her day in court. She might not think so now but believe me one day in her future she's going to be happy as f.u.c.k that she played a part in putting her tormentor in prison. The fact that he's never gonna see another night after the case is over is neither here nor there, she needs this s.h.i.+t."

We have a system where when dealing with some hardcore criminal we try to get one of our guys on the inside. Usually they'd get picked up on some minor bulls.h.i.+t that will bring nothing more than a slap on the wrist for a few months at the most. They take turns when it comes to that s.h.i.+t and luckily we don't have to do it too often.
