"No regrets Bas. She chose her path, and now you have to choose yours," KoKo stated with ease looking over at Baseem.
Baseem choked back his tears and inhaled deep. He thought back to the day Kayson saved his life and the many days he took the lives of others. Death was his destiny and he would live from this day forward in its painful shadow.
"My loyalty. My honor and my gun will always be for y'all," Baseem looked at KoKo then firmly into Kayson's eyes.
There was an eerie moment of silence then Kayson spoke. "Today our allegiance is stronger than ever," Kayson held their stare. "We will take all the pain and hatred we have for our enemies and put it in our sons. They will settle every score we leave behind."
Kayson knew that there was no getting out and there would always be someone lurking to be at the top, someone to challenge his power. He vowed to protect his throne by all cost and only relinquish it to the grave. Until then, they would all live each day in the shadow of death.
