Chapter 3: Part 8
There was no need for him to go to all this trouble if all he wanted was to obtain Gumina.
The best way to go about it was to lure the girl somewhere inconspicuous and cast his l.u.s.t spell on her like he usually did.
However, Sateriasis’ heart had gotten excited tonight.
He felt like this excitement wouldn’t subside unless he made full use of the demon’s power.
While admiring the guards collapsing in a b.l.o.o.d.y mess before his eyes, Sateriasis had the following thought.
“This brutality might just be my true nature.”
He who killed his parents, his servants, and even his brother.
Each time he regained a fragment of his memory, this true nature of his might’ve been revived.
Someone was heading toward Sateriasis.
(A guard? Or is it a servant? No matter, I’ll kill them if I’m seen. In any case, it’ll be just fine so long as I perform the “ritual” later)
Sateriasis raised his right hand protruding long claws.
While dying the floor and walls of the Gla.s.sred Mansion in fresh blood, Sateriasis searched for Gumina’s room.
He heard the sound of footsteps from the corridor behind him.
“Really…… again?”
Saterasis looked back toward the direction of the footsteps. With the full intention to kill the person, of course.
But, he stopped right there for a moment.
“…… Carol?”
Once Gumina’s chamberlain recognized Sateriasis’ form, her eyes widened.
“Duke Venomania, have you gone mad! …… Moreover, that form……”
“I’m not mad. I simply came to get Gumina for myself.”
“…… Lady Gumina was already your fiancée. There was no need for you to intentionally come and take her away……”
“That won’t do, that simply won’t do, Carol. In such a marriage that would only be for show, Gumina’s heart would never be mine.”
Carol drew her sword and pointed it before Sateriasis’ eyes.
“Are you trying to imply that Lady Gumina doesn’t love you?”
“If you’ve been accompanying her, wouldn’t you know?”
“…… Prepare yourself!”
Without answering Sateriasis’ question, Carol charged at him.
Saterasis repelled the sword with ease and quickly closed the distance between them.
“Wha! S-So fast……”
“Let me confirm once more. Carol, do you have any feelings for me?”
Carol’s eyes widened as if upset for a moment but soon returned to their original look.
“…… Ridiculous.”
Carol tried throwing a fist at Sateriasis’s face but that too was easily parried.
“You don’t have to hide it. That joyful face when I remembered you…… I too have recently come to understand a woman’s heart.”
“That’s your hubris talking.”
“Those who come cannot refuse; that is my creed. Carol, I will be taking you, along with Gumina.”
Sateriasis’ purple eyes turned red. Their radiance completely consumed the redhead.
“Ah…… Ahhh.”
The sounds Carol made, rather than groans from suffering, were pants in euphoric pleasure.
Gumina sat in the corner of the room while holding a knife for self-defense, trembling slightly.
She heard noises from various ends of the manor, screaming. That wasn’t normal, even she knew that.
A thief. A thief broke into the mansion.
Her father, Marquis Gla.s.sred, was currently gone from the house tonight. He had to travel to the imperial palace in Ruckolbeni far south of Asmodean in order to meet with the imperial family.
In that case, what was the thief’s aim? She didn’t know. But it reminded Gumina of that incident――those murders from when Sateriasis’ mansion was attacked.
The perpetrator of that incident might now be attacking this house. If that really was the case, Gumina would certainly be killed.
She heard footsteps. They were becoming louder, stopping when they came up to the entrance of the room.
(Please…… don’t come in here, don’t come in here……)
Gumina’s pleas were in vain; the door opened.
She made a small sob. But, once she saw who opened the door, Gumina put a hand to her chest, and approached her.
“Carol, you’re all right! What…… what’s going on in this mansion!?”
“Lady Gumina…… let’s go.”
Despite Gumina’s question, Carol responded in a flat voice. The fl.u.s.tered girl also didn’t notice Carol’s eyes lacked any focus.
“Go? Go where?”
“To the mansion…… of Duke Venomania.”
Suddenly, Carol went around and restrained Gumina’s arms behind her back.
“Huh!? W-What!? Carol, what in the――“
Someone else poked his head through the wide-open door.
Looking upon his terrifying appearance, Gumina was speechless.
“S-Sati……!? What’s going on, that form……”
A bloodied demon was there. Sateriasis came into the room with only his face remaining the same; the rest of his head, his arms, his body, his legs all completely changed into that of a monster.
“Now, shall we go, Gumina? To my mansion, to my――harem?”
Gumina struggled as much as she could but Carol held her tightly so that she couldn’t get away.
“No…… stop, get away from me!!”
“Gumina…… at last. At last, every part of you will be mine. Your face, your legs, your b.r.e.a.s.t.s, and even your heart――”
The demon laughed as he slowly approached her.
Gumina swung her limbs like crazy, trying to resist.
“Get away…… get awaaaayyy!! Don’t come near me with that ugly faaaace!!”
“Ugly……? Ugly, am I? You’re terrible, Guminaaa……”
The demon stood just before Gumina, edging closer toward her face. Saliva dripped from the gaps between his fangs, falling onto the floor.
“Aren’t you the one who’s ugly, falling for another man?”
A red glow filled the room.
