Chapter 4 – Edge Period

 

Although the West Gate was not a huge gate, but it contained three hundreds men. There were less than sixty Yan master and they were the real guards of the West Gate. The rest of them were mortals, doing ch.o.r.es, long-term workers and hired workers. These were nearly three hundred and were the real bottom of the West Yan Gate.

Xiao Jing-Mi was a thirteen years old but he was exactly a Yan disciple and being in the position in West Gate was not bad, he even got a private residence for practicing.

Along the West Gate there was a huge and tall walls. Straight ahead leads way back to the courtyard and there was a corner of a door that to be seen. Pushed the door and Xiao Jing-Mi went to the backyard slowly, there was a meditation room in the backyard.

Xiao Jing-Mi tip-toed towards the meditation room. He did not attend the morning and afternoon cla.s.s and if he was found by his master, his master would scold him. He was just went through a gate, but he heard someone speaks.

“Hey, senior, you skipped your cla.s.s again!”

Xiao Jing-Mi was shocked.

“Yan G.o.d bless me, who said nonsense!” he said and turned his head.

Standing in front the moon gate (a gate that has moon-shaped) was his junior, Ke-Zhang, he was the head of the kitchen. He’s forty years old and get along with Xiao Jing-Mi.

Edge period was divided into three stage. The first stage is the conversion. The second stage is the cultivation and the third is consciousness.

Ke-Zhang still remained at the first stage though he was already forty years old and he still have not reach the second stage. Xiao Jing-Mi was different, he was only thirteen and reached the third and he could reach the next level.

At a very young age, Xiao-Jing Mi was a senior to Ke-Zhang. It was thanks to Ke-Zhang took care all these years when Xiao Jing-Mi was on his training. Ke-Zhang was the head of kitchen, he always cook him something delicious. These two always get along.

Ke-Zhang has a thick beard, big and fat body. He was a huge man and has a always smiling face.

“Little senior, this time…… Oh no, who beat you? Just look at your robe, it was torn down badly!”

“I met a lone wolf on my way but I did change its heart, do not bite people again…… Yan G.o.d bless me, I changed a wolf’s heart……”

Ke-Zhang was so shocked.

“What? Lone wolf…… changed its heart? It did not bite you? What is happening?”

Xiao Jing-Mi explained all of it to him.

Ke-Zhang dropped his jaw and laughed uncontrollably.

“HAHA, HAHAHA! HAHA…… HAHAHA!”

“Yan G.o.d blessing, junior, if you keep laughing you will die laughing!”

Ke-Zhang pointed his finger to Xiao Jing-Mi, his eyes were so teary.

“HAHA, that…… was that wolf being changed its heart by Yan G.o.d? HAHA, that was almost die being strangled by you…… alright? HAHA, little senior, you almost killed it…… there was no heart changing…… It was just so shocked and ran away, alright. HAHA!”

Xiao Jing-Mi just looking at Ke-Zhang but that man laughing way too funny.

Then the two were standing at the moon gate and laughing like crazy. Ke-Zhang stopped for a while and looked at Xiao Jing-Mi was laughing harder than him: “Little senior, what are you laughing at?”

“Hahaha, I am laughing at a man that should be laughed at……”

Ke-Zhang was dumbfounded.

“What do you mean?”

Xiao Jing-Mi stopped and walked back and said: “Ke-Zhang junior, you lack believing in Yan so that is why you never reach the consciousness stage……”

Ke-Zhang was confused and stressed out. He lacked the skills and it was hard for him to reach the first stage.

At the same time, lack of believe in Yan? A man that should be laugh at? What is the relation between those?

Then he followed Xiao Jing-Mi to the front of the room, Xiao Jing-Mi lifted his head and looking at the sky.

“Junior, is it meal time?”

Ke-Zhang was shocked and screamed, then he turned around and ran.

“Little senior, later can you help me? Point something at me to make me realize all the things I have done wrong…… Yan G.o.d blessings!” He was the head kitchen and at this time he could not wasting him time, the sky almost dark.

A dash and he ran up so far.

Xiao Jing-Mi only smirked.

He came to his house. That was a small house built with brick wood. On one side was the courtyard’s huge wall, and on the other was a zen wood trees. At the back of his room was a planting field. He planted some vegetables and herbs.

His house only had three rooms, the one near the courtyard wall was Xiao Jing-Mi’s small room. The other two rooms was his senior’s but the two of them were with their master went to Ling Zhang Gate so in a year they would not be in their house.

Outside the house, there was a six feet wide quartzite table. Above it was Xiao Jing-Mi’s herbs, wild fruits, and vegetables that was sun dried.

It was fine for him not to eat meat. He had never eat meat since he was small. He still needed to eat something. He needed the energy to train the hard Yan training.

This was why Xiao Jing-Mi always skipped cla.s.s. The cla.s.s was not a normal cla.s.s but it was a Yan’s special cla.s.s. There was noon and evening cla.s.s. The masters were all chanting spells in the cla.s.s.

Xiao Jing-Mi lived freely in the West Gate because he did not have apprentice, so he would not be ruled by anyone. He grew up in this gate so everyone knew him.

For him, skipping cla.s.s was normal.

He opened the door and did not lock the small house. He put his basket on the front door and went to his room.

His room was not huge. A firewall had s.p.a.ced half of his room. There was a bamboo table too. A cotton bed was placed above the firewall neatly.
