Chapter 28 – Slight Advantage (End)

The same day that his practice finished, Rumont went back to the inn.

Arriving at his room, he suddenly thought, and brought out from within the spatial region, the set of books left behind by the Thieves; browsing through them. Ever since he obtained these items, he had yet to seriously look through them.

Looking through, it was if Rumont thereupon gained the most precious treasure, repeatedly feeling vexed inwardly, for whatever reason of not looking through these even earlier. Originally, as a result of a Thieve’s occupational characteristics, they mainly trained towards the weird and murderous directions; paying particularly attention to speedy sneak attacks, without anyone antic.i.p.ating from various angles and then fleeing.

As for what Rumont previously learnt, was proper swordsmans.h.i.+p, which paid particular attention to, princ.i.p.ally, to steadiness. In regards to the power lacking Rumont, the skills of a Thief at this moment, were even more suitable to him.

Rumont first browsed through a book on a.s.sa.s.sinating. Not only did it contain a.s.sa.s.sinating methods for the sword; it also included daggers, sabres, it even still included, in the event of being bare handed for whatever reasons, methods of subduing the enemy in one attack.

Reading this far, even though a long period of time had pa.s.sed, Rumont still couldn’t help but let the sweat form on his head, gloomily saying lucky. Solely based on the details read within the book, those that practiced it, could absolutely alone, defeat several ordinary people like small fries. At the time the pair consisting of himself and Feivel, had gotten rid of the 4 Thieves, it really had to be said that it was major bad luck for the 4 Thieves, to have met him, Rumont, a person who pa.s.sed over through another world owning a crossbow; a major killing device.

It could be said, Rumont and company were really quite fortunate, as for those Thieves, it was really quite unfortunate.

Opening up the book, Rumont’s mind began to plot. These Thief skills, could be studied and learnt, even if what was written was quite simple, but the basics was indeed better.

He acted the moment he thought about it, this was Rumont’s current standards of life. Because of studying the divine skills of a Druid, his current memory had vastly improved since the the past. Especially in an area surrounded by plants, his 5 senses would be increasingly more sensitive.

Consequently, in the following period of time, Rumont would everyday after finis.h.i.+ng his practice at the barracks, secretly study the Thief’s martial skills. Originally, he had planned to ask Feivel together, however, Feivel was too busy recently because of some family matters. Therefore, he was hiding alone in practice.

As for the several volumes collected, detailing poisonous objects and their processing methods, located within the spatial region, it similarly piqued Rumont’s interest.

Even though the Shrine already understood many types of plants, however, the types of plants were greatly limited use for treatments.

As for those plants that could be made into poison or was naturally poisonous, not only did the Shrine not have those plants, even the shelves within Shrine’s library, did not contain a single book detailing them.

However, since Rumont came from another world, he therefore did not have any misgivings in regards to the manufacturing and usage of poison.

As he saw it, even if he couldn’t use these poisons, at least being knowledgeable on certain poisons, he would have one method less in the future, for other people to conspire against him with.

Arriving at a distant vacant area within the forest, he took out a small chest from within the spatial region. Opening it up, you could unexpectedly, see within this chest 5 sectioned layers, and within each layer it had 100 part.i.tions. Within each part.i.tion, contained a small heap of seeds. Seeds of all kinds and sorts, in various hues; almost overwhelming Rumont’s eyes.

On the basis of Rumont having first finished reading the volume introducing the content of various types of poisonous plants, he then observed the seeds in one of the part.i.tions. Eventually certain, that the seed, was indeed the poisonous plant as recorded in the book.

“Never would have thought those Thieves would know about this kind of herb. “ Rumont shook his head, following on with placing the seeds back inside. Currently, even though the spatial region was expanded, but without leveling it up, there was no way to accept new seeds; he could only place it back inside the chest.

Like this, cultivating without end daily, practicing martial skills, Rumont’s livelihood was simple yet fulfilling. As for Nick’s body, it recovered everyday. Although it would still retain some malady, but at least on the surface, there was no difference to ordinary people.

One particular day, Ricca welcomed the first sign of snow since the start of winter, furthermore, along with the snow arriving, Banner’s caravan had also arrived once again.

Every month, Banner would arrive at the town. This was Rumont’s opportunity. He prepared to go to the city once, along with the caravan; to earn enough money.

A large amount of snow as far as the eye could see, brought about worries for the residents of Ricca. Simultaneously, it also brought about joy. Children giggled with a hehe as they ran about on the streets, building snowmen, having snow fights.

Due to the snow day, Mort’s Inn’s business was increasingly better.

A large amount of people were seated around together, drinking hot scalding drinks of alcohol. Afterwards, looking outside at the heavy snow, they let out a big sigh to exclaim, that next year must surely be a year of plentiful harvest.

As for a certain room on the second floor, Rumont was waiting for Banner to finish drinking his alcohol, while more or less seeming to be quite bored.

Because of the heavy snow, he did not go inside the forest to train today. After eating something down below, he stared blankly out the window.

It could be said, it was his first time since arriving from another world, seeing such heavy snow.

At the time back on the other world, because he grew up in the southern part of of the country, as a result, he very rarely saw snow. Afterwards, due to work, he frequently dwelt around places with lush plants, areas with warm climates. Therefore this time, with this large, thick amount of snow, it could even be said since his birth, that he saw with his own eyes for the first time such a thick layer of snow.

Rumont who was wrapped up carefully, watched the snow outside. So much that, at the very end, he unexpectedly felt playful, standing up and going to the window to stick his arm out.

The ice-cold snowflake landed on top of his arm. He brought it close to his eyes, attentively observing. He laughed a hehe, as he watched the snowflake gradually melt within his palm.

Sitting down once more, Rumont suddenly felt bored once again; easily once again focusing his attention on his own inner spatial region.

Even though it was winter outside, however, the Shennong Horn’s area didn’t seem to be affected.

In the sky, a golden brilliance shone and radiated over the living things. This was a light globe, hanging roughly 10 metres high. The area was suffused with a type of rain scent, as well as a delicate fragrance.

The whole sky was enveloped within a beautiful halo. The stream like usual, flowed rapidly with a touch of coolness while being clear enough to see to the bottom; some fishes could be seen swimming within.

Up to now, it was already a month. The field of Blue Gra.s.s planted that day, due to a lack of damage from pests or ill influence from weather, had already sprouted and grown quite lush. A vague type of mist could be seen on them, bringing a clean fragrance, winding and coiling about. This unique 10% increase in quality effect was obtained after the spatial region had upgraded.

These patches of Blue Gra.s.s, if another 2 months pa.s.sed, they could be then harvested. In accordance, 1 mu could produce about 300 kilograms worth. This was just 1 mu worth, which could produce 300 kilograms. It must be known, the market value was 1 silver coin for each kilogram.

The landscape within the spatial region was just like a painting. Looking above again, a figure could be found in the air, it had almost already reached the value of 2000.

The circ.u.mstance of the Shennong Horn spatial region was favourable. Letting Rumont immediately feel better. It had to be said, within this season where all living things hibernated, even the majority of low leveled Druids that relied on the forest’s essence, was the period when cultivation was the slowest. However, because Rumont possessed the Shennong Horn spatial region, the current situation it would appear, was completely the opposite.

Rumont smiled complacently. At this moment, someone had called out from below: “Rumont! “

“Ah, coming. “ Rumont promptly responded.

As Rumont went down, it took a few steps to arrive at the inn’s ground floor, confirming his view; a noisy crowd of Adventurers inside the inn. A familiar Mercenary Corp Captain, Howard, began to greet him; by his side, was a relatively unfamiliar squad of Adventurers.

Recently, for whatever reason, increasingly more and more Adventurers arrived at the town. Could it be that Briar Forest, still had some sort of treasure not found? Rumont guessed.

“Burke, this is Rumont, a Druid, first treatment is 5 silver coins, much more convenient than the Shrine! “ Even though in the town, due to Tax Officer Barcas’ public slanderings, many townsfolk were unwilling to attract troubles and alienated Rumont a lot. However, in regards to the Adventurers, they rarely bothered to avoid at all.

Once Howard saw him descend, he immediately called out.

“Oh, you’re a Druid? Capable? “ Burke was a Captain roughly 30 years of age, he observed with a sharp gaze.

“Capable or not, you’ll find out after a treatment! “ Rumont humbly smiled. He swept his vision and saw 3 wounded Adventurers.

“Heh, Rumont’s not bad, fairly skilled in treatments! “ Howard vaunted slightly

Rumont blushed. He instructed the 3 to remove their clothing while ordering them a mug of strong liquor each.

Howard helped while smiling merrily, taking the strong alcohol to clean the wounds, causing the trio to immediately start s.h.i.+vering.

Burke watched with a gaze, asking: “the f.u.c.k is this? “

“Hehe, I don’t know either, but Rumont seems to think, letting the wound have a drink of liquor, will benefit the recovery. “ Howard spoke in a teasing manner: “only the heaven knows whether it’s for the inn’s increase in business, haha! “

“It’s for disinfecting. The wounds would have some infections, it’s good to use a strong liquor! “ Rumont faintly smiled as he quietly replied. After disinfecting, he also smeared a thin layer of ointment. The smearing finished, he extended his arm, a dull green light shortly appeared on his palm.

The green light settled down in a flash, yet within the centre of the ointment, a faint layer of skin regenerated. Wrapping up the wound, Rumont then said: “okay, no alcohol, rest for 3 days and you’re basically healed. “

Causing Rumont to laugh, the people inspected it and moved it about, saying: “it’s really good! “

Divine spells, or the Druid’s Nature spells, both could catalyse the cell divisions to heal after disinfecting, as well as cause scarring at the centre of the ointment. It could, with the current level, recovery at the maximum degree, as well as economizing the maximum amount of energy.

Once the trio was finished treated, Rumont collected 15 silver coins, giving 5 to the owner; Mort naturally a.s.sisted him in paying off the Tax Officer Barcas.

Tax Officer Barcas could prohibit the trading of bisons, but there was no way to stop a Druid in using spells. What’s more, following the increase in Adventurers, as well as the increase in injury events, the Shrine’s pair of priests, would use 3 to 4 healing spells everyday each. They simply weren’t enough to satisfy the demands, thus, Rumont conducted this business; complying with the needs of the Adventurers——prohibiting would have offended the Adventurers. This point, even Tax Officer Barcas didn’t dare risk it; he could only heavily tax it, demanding a third of the income!

Of course, Rumont could only cast the healing spell 3 times a day. Regarding this amount of money, Rumont squinted his eyes, sooner or later this matter would be settled.

“Good work Rumont, if you want to go to the city, even if Banner didn’t take you, I’ll take you along. “ Howard seeing this situation, laughed. Others minded Tax Officer Barcas, while he himself thought the venture of offending Tax Officer Barcas was worth it; after weighing the pros and cons.

Rumont faintly smiled as he nodded. This was capabilities and benefits!
