I put my lips up to meet James'. I had to force my tongue into his closed mouth. He pushed me back softly. The chanting began again. I reached dow n and grabbed James between his legs. His black jeans couldn't hide the fact he was interested in me. His erect c.o.c.k fought to get out of the top of his pants and I wanted nothing more than to free it. He wanted to do this as much as I did, at least physically.

James pushed back on my shoulders. "Gwen, what the h.e.l.l's come over you ?.

Have you gone mad? What the h.e.l.l is that friggin' buzzin' noise? Are you doing that? d.a.m.n woman, I'm working my a.r.s.e off to keep s.h.i.+t under control for us and you go and do some sort funky faerie thing!"

I didn't know or care what he was talking about. I made another attempt to grab him. The drums beat harder in my head. He dodged out of my way and looked off into the distance.

"Pallo's callin' me."

"What?""Pallo is summonin' me. He wants me to return and he knows I'm with you.

I looked around. I couldn't hear anything but the beating of drums in my ears. Each pound made my body ache more for s.e.x. I spun around fast and hit the wall hard, accidentally driving my fingernails through the palm of my hand. The blood welled up under my finger. Slowly, I turned to face James. His eyes flickered to black and then back to blue. The blood had caught his attention.

"Gwen, no ... I can't fight you and my demon. Please."

I put my blood soaked fingers out to him and moaned as his cool tongue flickered over them. "You don't have to fight me, James."

He turned his head away from me, leaving my wet fingers to fall from his lips and put his hands up in air. "Gwen, I thought we talked about this.

We can make our friends.h.i.+p work, but not if were f.u.c.kin'."

"Oh, but weren't you the one trying to tell me how I keep picking the wrong men. Now, James, are you telling me that you're not interested in what I have to offer?" I heard myself speaking and knew that it wasn't me controlling my words.

I made another attempt at touching James. He grabbed hold of my arm and twisted it behind my back. He turned my body away from him and herded m e towards the bathroom door. I dug my heels into the carpet. I may not have the strength of a vampire, but I did have the strength of a faerie. James had to relieve some of the pressure he was putting on my arm or he'd break it. I knew he wouldn't hurt me so I didn't let up.

The chanting and rhythmic sound of the drums made my head sway slightly with the beat. It was matched by a pounding on our room door. The manager's voice greeted us. He wanted to check in on us, our neighbors had reported a disturbance. James let go of me and I looked at the door.

James walked to the door and opened it slightly. He explained that we had just gotten a little 'carried away'. He explained that we were still newlyweds and it happened. The man must have tried to look into the roombecause James pulled the door tight into him and explained that I wasn't decent.

I moved up behind him and ran my fingers over his b.u.t.t and back. I could hear the middle-aged, balding manager telling James and I to tone it down or he'd be back. I had an overwhelming need to speak to James. I leaned into James' ear and whispered, "I can use him for s.e.x if you won't let me use you." I was implying that I'd do the manager if need be, but I didn't know why I said it. The man was repulsive.

James shut the door and looked at me. His blue eyes were wide and confused. "Gwen, somethin' isn't right with you." The sound of the woman singing grew louder and James jerked. He spun around, checking ever corner of the room. The singing voice reached new levels. "Holy b.l.o.o.d.y f.u.c.king s.h.i.+t ... that's the song of a Siren."

A Siren? Didn't they bind people to them with their songs? Aside from Orpheus, I'd never heard of anyone escaping their clutches. "James, no ... it can't be a Siren."

"Did ya' not listen to yourself, you just suggested you'd bang that w.a.n.ker."

Putting my body against his, I put my leg up. I kissed at his neck and pulled at his t-s.h.i.+rt. He tried to pry me off him but I wasn't about to give up. I needed to be touched and somewhere deep inside him, he wanted to touch me. I knew it.

"Gwen, please fight this. Come on, love. For me, please."

I slid my hand down the front of his pants and encountered a wealth of tight curly pubic hair. I moved my fingers downward and gripped his hard shaft in my hand. He, like Pallo, was not circ.u.mcised. James gasped.

"Call your master then, vampire. Let him know she will have someone tonight. Let him decide if it is you or a stranger. Tell the vampire that it need not be him but she will have someone." It was my mouth that spoke, but that wasn't my voice. I looked at James with wide, scared eyes.

"Gwen, if your head starts spinning 'round, can I slap you again?"

I knew he was attempting to lighten the situation with humor, but Icouldn't bring myself to laugh. "Go away, James! Go now, before...."

James pulled me closer to him. "I'm not about to leave you in the hands,"

he looked around, "okay, air of a Siren. No way in h.e.l.l!"

"Ple-ase," I whispered.

"I can't believe that I'm about to say this but I'm actually hurt that you don't want me."

I struggled against the energy in the room. "That's not it ... can't lose you too ... I ruin every man I touch ... can't ruin you, James ... love you too much."

"f.u.c.king h.e.l.l, Gwen. You can't say things like that! I'm doin' everythin'

I can here to keep myself under control. Help me out here."

I grabbed the back of James' head and pushed my mouth against his. I let every bit of my need for s.e.x come through. I tried to share the rhythm of the drums and chants with him. The sound intensified. I had no desire to fight it.

James' eyes swirled to black quickly. He grabbed both of my wrists and pushed me towards the wall. I bit at him, trying to get him to come at me with his mouth. He didn't.

"James, please...."

He growled and it excited me. "I have to try and keep you under control until Pallo arrives."

The moisture between my legs increased. I wasn't going to make it. I could feel something pulling me. I tried to fight it but I didn't understand it enough to know how to combat it.

"James." I looked at him, trying hard to regain my composure. "James, I'm not going to make it. Just go."

"I told you already that I'll not leave you and I meant it." James brought his face down slowly towards mine. I moaned as his lips touched mine voluntarily. He was kissing me without pa.s.sion. He was holding back and I knew why--Pallo.A spark of energy flew out of my hand. It struck the TV and started changing the channels. James looked down at me and he understood. We we re in deep s.h.i.+t.

His kisses came firmer after that and he gave himself over to me. His body relaxed and he stopped pinning my arms to the wall. He didn't let go of my wrists yet, but at least we were making progress.

I could feel a different energy rising up through me. This wasn't my magic, at least not as I knew it to be. I watched as a shudder ran through James. He'd let down his guard, his control. He'd warned me about what would happen, but I had no idea it would be this severe. The emotions that ran through me left me clawing at him, to get him closer to me, to f.u.c.k me, to love me.

His mouth came down hard on me. His hands moved towards my b.r.e.a.s.t.s. T he feel of his fingers brus.h.i.+ng past them sent me into an uncontrollable fit. I ripped his s.h.i.+rt off and yanked his pants open. He didn't stop me.

The next thing I knew, James was grinding against his body against me.

His hips were perfectly aligned with mine. I struggled to get him free of his pants and almost had him out when someone knocked on the door again.

James didn't stop pus.h.i.+ng against me and I ate at his mouth--drinking his pa.s.sion down. Was it meant to be this way between us or was this the Siren's doing? At the moment, I couldn't focus enough to care.

"Gwen?" I heard Caleb's voice. "Gwen, are you in there?"

James pulled his head back and looked like he'd been struck. He thought I would send him away now that Caleb had arrived. He was wrong. I pulled James back to me and he wrapped his arms around him. He picked me up an d spun me around. He edged us towards the bed. I kissed at his face, his neck, his shoulders, anything I could reach.

The pounding on the door increased. "Gwen, open the f.u.c.king door. Pallo called me. He said you'd be here. He's on his way. What's going on?"I ignored him and felt my excitement grow as James laid me down on the bed. I heard Caleb yell for me again. The pounding on the door sounded faint. "Drop your magic and open the G.o.dd.a.m.n door, Gwen, let me in."

I hadn't put a spell on the door, or at least I didn't think I had.

Warding spells were beyond me. I could feel Caleb's hot energy pus.h.i.+ng against mine. He was powerful, probably more than me, and somehow I was keeping him out.

"Gwen?" I heard Justin's voice. "Gwen, let us in. I know you're p.i.s.sed at him, and it's not like he doesn't deserve it, but...."

I heard Caleb yelling at him. Justin began talking again. "Like we don't all know that she's p.i.s.sed at you! Gwen, he was working undercover. I never thought to give you his real name. I thought I was protecting his ident.i.ty. Gwen, I never realized you guys knew each other ... I didn't know he was with you now or I wouldn't have told you about all the other women."

"What the h.e.l.l did you tell her?" Caleb demanded.

"The truth."

Apparently, that answer scared the h.e.l.l of Caleb because he began thrusting power at me in an attempt to break my "hold" on the door.

I laughed as James' body moved over mine. His eyes held hunger--hunger for me and for s.e.x. I loved every minute of it.

Caleb's pounding continued. "Gwen, please let me explain, it's not what you think. Gwen, nothing happened ... please I was following leads and the girls. They're in league with the Enchantress, I know it, please, Gwen. I'm sorry ... please." He moved to pound on the window. It should have broken easily for him, it didn't. Some sort of magic was keeping him out.

"Let me try," Justin said. The door flew open and I heard him entering the room as James' mouth found mine. "What the...?"

I looked over James' shoulder as he moved his mouth down on mine. I sawJustin trying to get Caleb away. Caleb wasn't having any of it. He looked like he'd been through the wringer. The bar fight must have been a doozie. He made an attempt to step into the room and was thrust backwards.

The cold energy rose up and off me. Justin turned and looked at me. His eyes met mine and I knew that whatever had captured James now had Justin as well. He moved towards me. The s.e.xual energy in the room was so thick that it was getting hard to breathe.

"Gwyneth, pull your magic back," Pallo said. I hadn't realized that he'd arrived. He was standing next to Caleb looking at the three of us.

Justin moved towards me, he looked flushed. His blue eyes locked on me and I knew that he was about to join us. My hand reached out to him. I hadn't moved it, something else had. The chanting returned louder than before and I had to close my eyes to try to steady myself. When I opened them again I looked up at James, his black eyes faded back to blue.

Abruptly, he stopped kissing me and stood slowly.

"James, don't go!"

He looked down at me with so much love in his face that it managed to nick some of the Siren's hold on me. I reached for him and he closed his eyes, shaking his head slightly. "If we cross the line--we can never go back. I could never go back."

Justin made a move to come to me. James grabbed him and pushed him towards the door. I sat up on my knees on the bed and pulled the sheets up to try to cover myself. I hoped that it would cause the burning desire to stop, it didn't. James stopped things from going further and I appreciated that.

Caleb and Pallo tried to enter the room. The magic surrounding us wavered. Pallo entered but Caleb was held at bay. I looked over at him, his green eyes hardened. He was angry with me. He a.s.sumed I was the one keeping him out. Maybe I was.

James whispered something to Caleb. Caleb turned and looked in at Pallo.

"Get her out of there, something else is in there with her! That's not just Gwen!"James said something else to Caleb that I couldn't make out and Caleb's face went white. "Pallo, it's a Siren! A Siren is using its call on her!"

The chanting boomed around me once more. Pallo spun around in a circle looking for the source. His eyes locked on mine. He heard them too. The TV's volume increased. The bedside table's drawer opened and the phone book came flying out. Pages ripped out on their own and flew around us.

"Stay away from the light..." I said half under my breath, in a bad attempt at humor.

"What?" Pallo asked as he made a move towards me. He stopped and glance d at Caleb.

Pallo had been put in this position before. He'd been forced to watch as a l.u.s.t spell, that my well-meaning father put on fruit, consumed me. It hurt him more than he'd ever let on, I was sure of that. He put his hand out to me and said something. I couldn't hear him above the beating of the drums, the wind, and the television.

I shook my head and looked around the room. The lights began to flicker.

I pulled the sheet around me tighter in a protective manner. The door to the room slammed shut and the room fell silent.

"Pallo?"

He looked around and back at me. "I know even less than you, fata mia.

You are sure that you did not do this?"

"Yes."

He took a step towards me. This was the first time I'd ever seen him in a bright red s.h.i.+rt. It was such a contrast to his pale white skin and brown hair that I wasn't sure how much I cared for it on him. I'd gotten used to Pallo's grays and blacks. Thankfully, he'd stuck with what worked on the lower half. His black jeans fit him snugly and accented his muscular thighs. Even without some h.o.r.n.y supernatural force pus.h.i.+ng me I'd want to have s.e.x with him.

Pallo walked over to the edge of the bed. He looked down at me, and puthis hand out. I took it. His hand engulfed mine. Pallo had a way of making me feel extra small. I was pet.i.te to begin with, being next to Mr.

Muscle made me seem downright minuscule.

"You are cold."

"So are you," I said.

He looked at the door. "They are still trying to get in."

"I don't hear anything."

"Nor do I but James is still in direct contact with me."

I pulled the sheet off the bed and wrapped it around me. Pallo helped me stand. I was freezing and had developed a nice case of the shakes. My body no longer craved s.e.x. All I wanted was some food and some rest.

Pallo got my clothes out of the bathroom, hesitated, and then handed them to me. "And how is our good friend Ken doing?"

s.h.i.+t, I'd forgotten that my clothes smelled of the aftermath of my and Ken's romp on the office desk. I avoided making eye contact with Pallo. I didn't need him making me feel ashamed of that, too. It happened and I couldn't take it back. I wasn't even sure I wanted to take it back.

Pallo's temper and Caleb's double life made Ken look downright plain.

Maybe, plain was just what I needed.

I dressed quickly and did my best to focus on my feet--not Pallo. When I was finished he walked over to the door.

"Any ideas on how we can remove the spell?"

"I'm not sure I want the door open," I said. Pallo seemed to understand my meaning. What did I have waiting for me on the other side? I knew I had at least one irate--lying faerie, one of my best friends that I'd forced to almost cross that line, and a guy I just met that I was sure I'd have had s.e.x with if James hadn't have intervened.

No, opening the door sounded less and less appealing.

"Gwyneth," Pallo said lightly.I put my hand out and tried the door. It opened.
