Thank you for reading this chapter from prosperous food translations:
Today there is a lot of new novels. 2 new novels were launched, and
See if you like them. ?
"Phew! Luckily the 9th elder did not blame you. Or you will be in big trouble!" Uncle Wu had just left the dining hall, and immediately he heaved a sigh of relief. Just now, when the 9th elder looks angry, he trembled in fear.
Wu Xuan smiled, "I am all right. But I must thank you for standing up for me. If not, I will definitely be punished, and my reward will be gone."
Wu Xuan was very thankful to Uncle Wu.
Uncle Wu grinned, "I just hope that you will not do such stupid thing in future."
After waving goodbye to Uncle Wu, Wu Xuan made his way to the Elixir Pavilion. He used the memories of his past self to find his way around. The Elixir Pavilion was really huge, and he was stunned at sight of the ma.s.sive building.
At this time, it is getting dark, and most of the Wu Family disciples are walking around. Many of them had just left the Elixir Pavilion.
As long as you can cultivate, you can get some elixirs from the Elixir Pavilion once a month that will help to improve your cultivation. If they were to make a big contribution to the clan, they will be given more elixirs or higher grade rare elixirs.
Of course, the Elixir Pavilion does not just give out elixirs. Disciples that found spiritual plants for making elixirs could hand it over the Elixir Pavilion for contribution points. These points can be traded for martial art skills, more elixirs or weapons.
The Wu family clan had a system in place for all these rewards. If you want to have more resources, you must make more contributions to the clan! Or if your cultivation level is good, you can achieve more! Therefore, most of the disciples do not hide their strength. Because doing so would mean that they will lose out on cultivation resources.
Wu Xuan had the ability to understand spiritual ingredients, but he could not reveal this secret.
Many disciples noticed that Wu Xuan had come to the Elixir Pavilion and was surprised. Why would someone who cannot cultivate in martial arts come here for? Perhaps he is here to take a look, and will leave. No one created difficulties for him.
But when he tried to enter the Elixir Pavilion, a burly man stood in front of him and blocked his way. The burly man shouted, "What are you doing here? I remember that you that kid called Wu Xuan, right?"
Wu Xuan looked up and saw a burly man about 30 years of age blocking his way. If his memories of his previous life are accurate, this man is called Wu Zixin. Wu Zixin does not have a high level of cultivation and is struck at basic level 5. He managed to land a job as a guard for the Elixir Pavilion, and often look down on others. This is especially so for those with weaker cultivation than himself.
Wu Zixin often abused his position to bully the weak, but when it comes to those stronger than him, he would bow and greeted them humbly.
The reason why he was offered this position is that during an expedition, he and a group of disciples encountered some spiritual beasts. To ensure that the other disciples could leave safety, he was injured by the spiritual beasts.
After Wu Zixin recovered from his injuries, he was dismayed to discover that the injuries had left him with a severe side effect – his cultivation could not progress.
Since he had protected the disciples, the elders thought that Wu Zixin had rendered some meritorious service and offered him this job. They know about his personality.
Usually, they would close one eye, and would not care too much as long as he does not overdo it. But this only made Wu Zixin more daring and he often creates difficulties for low-level cultivators.
Wu Xuan immediately informed Wu Zixin, "The 9th elder asked me to come here and take 2 body strengthening elixirs."
Wu Zixin looked as if he had just heard the funniest joke. He sneered, "9th elder asked you to come here to take 2 body strengthening elixirs? You must be kidding! This elixir is only suitable for those with at least basic level 1 cultivation. Have you reach basic level 1 in your cultivation yet?"
"You have not even opened your meridians in your body, let alone achieve basic level 1 in your martial arts cultivation! Do not use the name of 9th elder and lie to me, least I kick you!"
Wu Xuan ignored Wu Zixin, and just said, "This is the instructions of the 9th elder. Regardless if you believe me or not, I will enter the Elixir Pavilion."
"Humph, I have not seen you for some time, and you have grown much braver!" Seeing that Wu Xuan is so calm, Wu Zixin believed Wu Xuan's words. But still he tried to create trouble, "I do not care who asked you to come here. If you want to enter the Elixir Pavilion, you must achieve a cultivation level of basic level 1."
"If you could lift up the smallest stone over there, I will let you in. If not, you better go away!"
Outside of the Elixir Pavilion were several stones of all size and shape. The small stone is about 200 jin in weight. And the largest stone is over 10,000 jin. These stones are used to judge the strength of the cultivator. If a cultivator can lift up the first stone, it indicates that he or she had achieved basic level 1 in cultivation.
The first level basic martial arts cultivation is to strengthen the body. The body must be conditioned to be ready to receive the energy for the next stage. Therefore, in the basic stages, martial arts cultivators focus on improving their strength, speed, and attack powers. The stones are a way to judge their body strength.
Wu Xuan is not a martial arts cultivator. He could not possibly lift the first stone. He did not even have the strength to lift half of the first stone. This Wu Zixin is out to create trouble for him.
Wu Xuan eyes gleaned, and he appeared to be deep in thoughts.
Seeing that Wu Xuan did not reply, Wu Zixin becomes bolder and sneered, "You could not lift it up? With your body, how could you lift it up? As I said, keeping you in the Wu Family Clan is a waste of food and resources. You could not even do anything, why are you still here? You are not even a Wu family member and is adopted!"
Wu Xuan's eyes flash with a cold light. He ignored Wu Zixin and walked towards the Elixir Pavilion.
He had already said that he will enter the Elixir Pavilion. He is not the Wu Xuan of the past, and is not easily swayed. Plus, he had the 9th elder on his side. Wu Xuan just pays Wu Zixin no heed and walked on.
"Didn't you hear me? Without a reaching a minimum standard in cultivation, you are not allowed to enter!" Wu Zixin saw that Wu Xuan continued to walk forward while ignoring him.
His eyes turned cold, "Since you choose to ignore me, then do not blame me for teaching you a lesson so that you will remember this in future!"
Wu Zixin's words had barely left his mouth when he punched out at Wu Xuan. The fist was filled with a lot of strength and strong enough to create a small windstorm.
Wu Xuan's eyes turned cold and he used his hands to block.
Bang!
Wu Xuan was forced to step back several steps from the force of impact. He was annoyed. How is he going to fight with Wu Zixin? He is just a commoner.
Wu Zixin was surprised - he did not antic.i.p.ate that his punch would be blocked by Wu Xuan. If it is blocked by someone with a slightly weaker cultivation, he would think much of it. But his blow was unexpectedly blocked by someone who could not cultivate. Plus, he had put some power and speed into this blow.
Therefore, he could not help feeling amazed.
Wu Xuan continued to remain calm. This blow almost landed on his body. To him, the pain of blocking this blow may be intense, but it is still within the limits of what he could endure.
In his eyes, Wu Zixin's blow is very slow. He could see it, and use his hand to block it, but the force of the impact is much higher than antic.i.p.ated.
"Good kid! You have some skills! Now I will display my full powers!" Wu Zixin was very angry that his fist was blocked by a commoner who could not cultivate and immediately unleashed a blow that was mightier than the last blow!"
"Stop it!"
A strict and commanding voice shouted out and Wu Zixin froze. He turned around and saw that this is the 9th Elder. Wu Xuan smiled. This time, he should be able to enter the Elixir Pavilion.
"What happened? Why did you fight?" the 9th elder frown as he walked towards them. He looked at both of them and finally asked Wu Xuan.
It is very obvious that Wu Zixin is the one who is creating trouble. Someone with a level 5 basic cultivation against someone who is unable to cultivate? Anyone with brains would not antagonise the stronger one.
Wu Xuan just glanced at Wu Zixin and immediately said, "9th Elder, I had informed him that you asked me to come here to pick up 2 body strengthening elixirs. Senior Brother Wu refused to let me in, saying that he does not believe it!"
Wu Zixin immediately tried to explain, "9th Elder, he said that you asked him to come here to take the body strengthening pills. I informed him that his cultivation must reach a point before….."
"Enough!" the 9th elder glared at Wu Zixin in fury! "This Elixir Pavilion belongs to me and not you! I asked him to come in and you dare to stop him even when he reported my name? You better be clear who owns this place! If you dared to stop anyone whom I invited over again, then you better be prepared to be punished severely!"
The 9th elder then flipped his sleeves and walked in, leaving Wu Zixin feeling very awkward and stunned.
Wu Xuan sneered, turned around and follow the 9th elder into the Elixir Pavilion.
Wu Zixin looked at the black figure of Wu Xuan and seethed with hate. He gritted his teeth and clutched his fists. Wu Zixin knew that Wu Xuan was telling the truth earlier. But he did not want someone who was adopted, and could not even cultivate in martial arts to enter the Elixir Pavilion. [1]
Notes[1] I do not why, but in many of these novels, the bad guy never blamed the elder for allowing Wu Xuan in. They always, always blame the MC. I mean, it is the elder who instructed Wu Xuan to go in even when he does not have the required cultivation, yes? This is a recurring theme not only in this novel, but also in most other novels. Very funny right?
