Soojiki’s note: Enjoy! 6/6.
As mentioned before, this is the last chapter that I will be translating. I thought that I (as a translator and a reader) would be “personally” involve/connected to this story, but it failed to meet my expectation. I also find the Author’s method of writing weird, though it did help me improve my translation a bit for other series. If someone wishes to pick this up, I have my translation/images/character list/etc that can be given if requested. BEWARE, this is SERIOUSLY a slow life. 20 chapters in and it’s only the afternoon from chapter 1 (Remember that goblin appearance? Yea no.) . At around chapter 99 is when the author finally gives us the protagonist REAL name… Will be translating WS and YLT ASAP. I think its possible to release both before I leave to my summer job with not much internet access!

We live in the mountain at an elevation of about 800 meters high but the slopes are relatively easy to go through on a sunny day.
There’s not much tall trees, but there are pastures and housings but you couldn’t call it exactly a plateau either.
To chop down trees, the entrance is on the opposite side of the mountain so if one wants to enter, it’s about a 3 days worth of trip for other villagers.
Though of course there are huts, fitting several people, for those coming to cut down trees in the mountains. There’s even room to properly fit a carriage through the roads here.
Well, at any rate that’s more of a convenience for those living in the mountain (hamlets), the mountain villages, otherwise it’s usually called the sunny side of the mountain, or the place you cut down trees.
No thanks to a straight man’s comments about the naming. It’s been called that for more than a century already. It’s easier for people to understand and agree on it too.
Dad was the 4th son born in a different village. Mom was the 2nd daughter born to a pioneering farming family in this village. Its really unusual for a stranger and a farmer’s daughter to get married. Eithers it’s by lineage or a miracle, Dad became an adventurer at the age of 10 and with his diligence and talent, got rich in a short amount of time. One thing led to another and he met Mom, it was love at first sight and he bought a plot of land in the mountain side (the older family generally stuck to the lower lands).
Though I say it’s the mountain side, its 1 km away from the village in a straight line. The shortcut would allow one to instantly cut down the time a lot but with a carriage, it easily becomes 3 km.
Here in the mountain are 12 families living here, with almost everyone having a pasture for raising animal. With that, it formed an S shaped road, thus extending the distance.
Well, while taking that road, a single girl stood in front of me.
Part of the mountain hamlet’s mediator and one of the village eldest family, it’s Onji’s great grandchild, Saribari, who’s 11 years old.
Onji’s family household has 4 families with 26 people and the extended family is enough to cover the daily jobs, so it seems the kid’s job is finished for the morning too.
Saribari is the youngest from the family, therefore having no job at the moment. Just like Sapull, she’s able to use both magic and having skills in cooking. From field work to looking after the animals, she couldn’t do it as an ordinary 11 year old girl. And with that, she plays by herself and is now standing here waiting for a playmate to show up.
“………Am I in trouble again…….”
It would sound good if she was a childhood friend, but it’s like calling those d.a.m.n brats in the nearby neighbor like that, leaving a bitter taste.
Though she’s 11, she’s still a girl. Whenever she speaks, its very eloquent. Since she is technically a year older than me, so she is my so called Ane. But I think of her more as a baby sitter.
Ordinarily, I like huge breast (past life). Flat chested girls are───somehow always out for blood───*cough*! Well, what. Just like that.
“Yo, Saribari. How have ya been?”
Yea, she probably suits more as a baby sitter. Yup.
