I continued to ask, "And what about those men in black sieging me and Yang Yan by the river? Who sent them?"

Qi Sheng didn't speak this time but turned to look at Bathroom Lord.

Bathroom Lord admitted honestly, "It was me."

I refrained from giving him the finger and continued to ask, "Then who sent those men in black last night?"

Both Qi Sheng and Bathroom Lord went silent. After a while, Qi Sheng slightly explained, "That must have been Lord Fifth's doing."

I stared at Qi Sheng's eyes and asked, "One last question, how did you fall into the water?"

Qi Sheng's eyes flashed and averted, and he refused to answer with his lips tightened up.

I didn't really want to dig an answer from him. I already knew the storyline of the whole thing anyway. It was obviously a fight between Qi Sheng and Bathroom Lord, yet Zhao w.a.n.g far in the Sheng City took the benefits.

I was struck by a thought, and asked Bathroom lord again, "So, you were not the one who put a needle under Jiang s.h.i.+'s saddle on that ji qiu match?"

Qi Sheng turned around and looked at Bathroom Lord when he heard me asking.

Bathroom Lord shook his head and said, "Why would I do that to a lady?"

However, it reminded me of Zhao w.a.n.g's insane roar on the match that day. He looked quite gentle and cultivated, and who would have thought that he was such a cruel guy. How could he have done that to his own wife only for a chance of staying in the capital city?

Qi Sheng opened his eyes and looked at me with a grumpy face.

I glimpsed at his broken arm and then tried to console him, "Well, you've messed around with his wife, so better not complain about your arm now."

Qi Sheng frowned then shouted at me in a low voice, "What the heck are you talking about!"

Great! I was such a fool to expect his understanding! I stopped speaking and found Bathroom Lord looking at me in a grin.

I stared at him angrily. Bathroom Lord turned around and smiled gently.

While I was wondering what he was laughing about, Qi Sheng suddenly asked me in a low voice, "You come here."

I looked up at him, realizing he was asking me. So I moved a few steps forward and crouched in front of him, "What's up? What's going on?"

Qi Sheng squinted at me for a moment and abruptly grabbed my wrist and pulled me to him, locking me tightly with one arm. He bent down to my ear and whispered viciously, "Dare you to cheat on me, I will kill Qi Han!"

Qi Han, Lord Ninth, Chu w.a.n.g. Exactly, that was the real name of Bathroom Lord.

Qi Sheng's body was frozen for a second, yet his grip got harder. He didn't let go but kept kissing me back. His tongue even barged into my mouth!

While I was almost torn up by grief and resentment that I wished I could bite off his tongue, I heard the slightly cold voice of Bathroom Lord coming from somewhere nearby, "They have gone ash.o.r.e."

Qi Sheng finally let go of me.

Qi Sheng groaned and leaned his head to one side. Blood coming down on his lip corner, I wasn't sure if that was from my punch or bite.

Yet that didn't vent my hate. I recklessly choked his neck with my hands and asked Bathroom Lord without looking back, "You help me strangle him and I will testify in front of the emperor that it was him who wanted to kill you but got plotted by Zhao w.a.n.g."

Bathroom Lord stood there in silence.

Qi Sheng turned over his face slowly and gently wiped the blood on his lip corner with the back of his hand. He looked at me with hatred but also with a grin on the lips, and asking mockingly, "What about you?"

"Widow! I would be your widow until the end of the world!" I answered ferociously.

Qi Sheng dragged my clothes and slowly pulled me closer, asking me word by word, "So you hate me that much?"

I stared at his eyes and spat out one word, "Yes."

Qi Sheng smiled a bit and took a glance at Bathroom Lord by the stone, asking me in a low voice, "Then what about him? He also used you as bait."

I said, "He is not my ally, and never promised me an empress crown. I don't need to hate him."

Qi Sheng was stunned shortly and looked a bit guilty. He stopped for a second and then said to me, "You won't die. Since I have promised you the empress crown, I will never let you die."

I sneered and asked, "Oh really? Zhang s.h.i.+ is a non-swimmer who sinks like a rock, and you know it. I doubt if you could predict that I can suddenly swim."

Finally, Qi Sheng went speechless.

I looked at Qi Sheng's st.u.r.dy neck carefully and took a glance at the tender hands of Zhang s.h.i.+. It seemed that I was not able to strangle him on my own, even if he only had one arm working. So I let go of his neck and tried to take his hand instead.

Yet Qi Sheng grabbed my clothes and wouldn't let go, "This is the last time."

I looked down and tried so hard with my two hands to get each of his fingers off me and said, "No it isn't. The last time would be my death!"

Qi Sheng slowly let go of his fingers and slightly looked down. I didn't know what he was thinking about.

Bathroom Lord looked at us and said slightly, "They are approaching here. Looks like they are all tough guys, so I'm afraid that they will find here quite fast."

This place was just a small valley denting into the mountains along the riverbank. Going further was bare cliffs that rose a thousand feet sheer and one simply had no way to escape. I took a few steps aside and started to look for some wood sticks or stones as my weapon to protect myself.

Bathroom Lord walked to Qi Sheng and crouched down to look him in the eye. He said, "Brother, shall we have a bet on our luck?"
