002: Wuliang Mountain

Su Tingyun was rather well-read, so now her mind was filled with random thoughts. Her palms were filled with sweat and water could even be wrung from the handkerchief clutched in her hands. However, she was still unresponsive even after the three women had come up to her and greeted her with a salute.

They were all ignorant mortals, and these three appeared to be extremely proud and domineering female cultivators; yet they would unexpectedly salute her?

“This person must be Madam Su.” The female cultivator wearing the pomegranate-red dress gave a faint smile, “I am Chu Ling, a cultivator training under Spiritual Master Ling Wu. These are my junior sister-apprentices, Chu Yu and Chu Yuerong.” Chu Ling fixed her fringe gently as she spoke, and her embroidered clothes s.h.i.+fted to expose a section of her jade-white arm. Her skin was fair and exquisite, a clear contrast to Su Tingyun’s current body.

“Spiritual Master Ling Wu is someone with outstanding talent. He successfully condensed his Golden Core after 50 years in seclusion; this innate talent is considered the best of the cultivation world. This time, by the orders of the Spiritual Master, we have come here to escort Madam beyond the Void Sea, to the cultivation world’s Wuliang Sect on Wuliang Mountain.”

There were actually immortal beings living beyond the Void Sea?

The minds of everyone present shook in fear. The emperor had managed to impressively unite the six nations, but even he had no means of conquering the Void Sea. All of the s.h.i.+ps heading out to the Void Sea set sail but never returned. No one knew just what laid beyond the Void Sea and there were only legends circulating around, one by one.

To think, there were skies beyond the heavens, and immortals really existed in this world….

Was this old lady fancied by an immortal who wanted to bring her to the mountains of the immortals to become a celestial being?

Su Tingyun felt an indescribable feeling surge up in her heart. It seemed to be what remained of the Old Madam’s consciousness. At this moment, she was suddenly unable to contain herself and she asked in a loud voice: “Fairy, could the Spiritual Master Ling Wu you speak of be referring to Su Lijiang?”

The woman in the pomegranate-red dress, Chu Ling, revealed a displeased face, but she nodded her head and said: “Indeed.”

Su Tingyun immediately felt extremely moved and she sobbed: “Darling…” These words were cried out in a hoa.r.s.e voice. After she had finished howling, Su Tingyun felt warm blood rush through her throat. She was. .h.i.t with a bout of lightheadedness and collapsed. Her vision turned black and she fainted immediately.

When she awoke, Su Tingyun felt that her body was missing something. If it was before, she would still be somewhat influenced by the feelings of the former host, but now Su Tingyun knew that the remaining consciousness of the Old Madam had completely disappeared.

Although there was no sighting of the man nor his corpse, she had always firmly believed that he was still alive and would continue to believe so until she died. She continuously awaited his return. Now, after waiting to finally receive news of him, her obsession was actually let go?

Su Tingyun felt the pain in her body lessen and she opened her eyes. She then saw her two twin sons standing guard by the bed, “Mother, you’re awake.”

“The two fairies told us that Father is bringing you to Wuliang Mountain to live comfortably. Mother is the only one in our entire Su Manor with an apt.i.tude for cultivation at present, the others are all incapable of setting foot in the world of immortals.”

The one who spoke, the older son, was a military man. He now looked a little dejected but after speaking of this, he continued, “But our family has immortal ties, so there is a high chance of a child with an apt.i.tude for cultivation emerging among our offspring. They have provided our Su Manor with plenty of magic treasures and medicinal pills. As long as a child with an apt.i.tude for cultivation is produced in our family, we can contact them directly and they will then send someone to escort them to Wuliang Mountain.”

The younger son looked at Su Tingyun in concern and mentioned briefly, “Mother, do you yourself want to go?”

“Why wouldn’t she want to go to the land of immortals to find Father?” The older son spoke promptly, glancing at his younger brother in disdain, as if he was really discontented with the question.

Yet Su Tingyun understood the apprehension in her younger son’s heart.

The xianxia world, huh. Her husband had already become a Spiritual Master at the Golden Core something stage and could be a.s.sumed to still be in his prime, yet her current self had wrinkled skin just like a tangerine peel. He was still young, but she was already old. And, he also had so many beautiful fairies by his side.

This old lady had been very strong her whole life, how would she get along with the other women when she went?

In addition, she was getting old. She might still have some useable strength in her body, but how could that strength compare to those fairies who had been cultivating the celestial arts? Not to mention whether their father was fully dedicated to her; even if he was, there would also be times when she would be overlooked, what would she do if the Old Madam could not endure it?

Su Tingyun knew about all the thoughts of her younger son, but Su Tingyun wasn’t really the Old Madam. She didn’t love that husband and wouldn’t compete for his affections with those female cultivators, nor be jealous. Her goal was naturally the cultivation techniques and beautifying medicinal pills. After going to the cultivation world, recovering her youthful vigor would no longer be a dream. She still wished to return to being 20 years of age!

“I’ll go, why wouldn’t I go!”

Su Tingyun said, her voice full of vigor.

In reality, the three fairies who came to escort her didn’t particularly want her to go. Seeing that she really had the determination to head to Wuliang Mountain, Chu Yuerong gave her a haughty look, and it could be said that she was completely displeased with Su Tingyun. Su Tingyun bid farewell to the whole family in the Su Manor and followed the three fairies aboard the flying construct. Once they had flown to a high alt.i.tude, she took a glimpse down below and her legs immediately trembled.

Here, Chu Yuerong revealed her true nature and spoke to her mockingly: “Oh my, I forgot to bring your walking stick along. Your legs are trembling so intensely, could you be wanting to wet your pants?”

Her fairy-like image suddenly crumbled, turning into a b.i.t.c.h who spoke nothing but dirty words.

“Yuerong, stop babbling nonsense.” Chu Ling berated with a frown. Soon after that, she lowered the speed of the flying construct a little.

Only after flying for while later did Su Tingyun adapt. She slowly bent her knees and sat down, looking down at the steep mountain range rapidly flying past below them. They travelled continuously through mountainous areas, with the rivers and lakes resembling ribbons. This scenery made her feel carefree and relaxed, and she quickly forgot her fear of heights.

“Madam Su is unexpectedly courageous.”

Ordinary mortals would never have traversed the skies in their lifetimes, and she was afraid that at such an extremely high alt.i.tude, Su Tingyun would be so scared that her bladder would burst. Even their legs had weakened the first time they propelled the sword to fly. However, she didn’t expect this old countrywoman to be able to sit with composure whilst up so high.

“Oh, my darling dispatched you guys to receive me, I am naturally very at ease.” Su Tingyun replied with a smile.

The pressure of my life is in your hands, if something happens, you guys won’t be able to escape responsibility either.

“That is natural. We will definitely not betray Spiritual Master’s trust.” After Chu Ling replied, she seemed to deflate and did not speak again. The atmosphere in the flying construct also became heavy. She didn’t know just what sort of att.i.tude the Spiritual Master had towards this wife with a flying G.o.ddess topknot. Naturally, she naturally wouldn’t really offend the person now and head to her death.

But the Spiritual Master wouldn’t really want to continue his former ties with this old woman who was both old and ugly, right?
