Chapter 37
After two seconds, Hai Xiu turned, quickly, ran downstairs and opened the door. Feng Fei was covered with snowflakes as he smiled at Hai Xiu: "Happy New Year."
Hai Xiu completely stayed still in his position: "You… why are you…"
Feng Fei entered the house. Seeing Hai Xiu's bare feet, he hugged and directly picked up the kid. He then smiled and said: "Didn't I agree to you before that I'll accompany you on New Year's Day?
Hai Xiu stared at Feng Fei's black eyes. When he felt the coldness of latter's body, he became mad at himself.
He tried to make himself look normal, but the exaggeration of his words as he rambled couldn't hide it: "You… Why are you back this time? How did you get back? How 'bout auntie and uncle… and your brother? Your… your eyes are red…"
When Feng Fei came back, he took a taxi from the airport. Unfortunately, the driver he met was a novice and couldn't face the snow in the middle of the night, especially if it was in the winding road. Thus, Feng Fei walked up to the winding road step by step. It wasn't easy to walk on a snowy road and he was still slightly panting as he answered: "Calm down… I'm not going to die."
Feng Fei then lowered his head and kissed Hai Xiu mercilessly, and took the kid upstairs.
After returning to the room, Feng Fei put Hai Xiu down on the bed and continued on kissing him.
The hot kiss lasted for a long while. After he let go of Hai Xiu, he took a deep breath and smiled: "Alright, I feel refreshed now and not tired."
Hai Xiu's face flushed and his heart was beating faster. He looked at Feng Fei and still couldn't believe that Feng Fei came back. One the other hand, Feng Fei was looking at Hai Xiu's silly expression and felt something warm in his heart. He smiled again and said: "What's wrong? It has only been a few days and you don't want to talk?"
Hai Xiu smiled back, shook his head and patted his own face before remembering what he wanted to ask Feng Fei: "How did you come back? Didn't you say that your vacation will take half a month? You…" Hai Xiu suddenly realized something and anxiously asked: "Does your family know?"
“Nope,” Feng Fei smiled mischievously. “These past few days, we've been staying at my uncle's house. It's the New Year today, isn't it? I told my mom and dad this morning that I'd be hanging out with some old bros through the night, so they still think I'm at home."
Hai Xiu's eyes widened, he couldn't believe what he had just heard: "If you did that, then let them—"
"Don't worry, its not that important." Feng Fei pinched Hai Xiu's face, "I went out with my relatives after lunch, then I directly went to the airport. Luckily, I booked the ticket in advance. But it was snowing over there as well and I almost didn't make it to spend the New Year's Eve with you."
Feng Fei looked up at the small alarm clock on the bedside table and saw that it was already 11:53 pm.
It was obvious that Feng Fei was already tired, but his eyes were still dark and deep. He lazily glanced at Hai Xiu and laughed: "Why? I didn't lie to you."
Hai Xiu nodded with some difficulty and was on the verge of crying. Then he said with a distress: "Then you have to… go back tomorrow?"
"En." Feng Fei smiled, "I only rushed here because I was afraid I'd be late, but I can take my time before going back, so you don't have to be worried about me getting tired. I already booked the tickets. When I get back tomorrow, I'll just pretend like I'm suffering from a hangover from drinking too much and decided to go to bed."
After listening to Feng Fei, Hai Xiu still felt bad and blamed himself: "It's my—"
"It's not your fault, I really wanted to do it for myself." Feng Fei leaned over Hai Xiu and smiled softly, "I can celebrate the New Year with you. I don't mind hurrying and walking on the snowy road… especially knowing that you're waiting for me at my home, and in my pajamas. If I didn't go back then I wouldn't have known about it."
Hai Xiu was too happy to the point that he had forgotten that he was wearing Feng Fei pajamas, so when Feng Fei reminded him of it, he couldn't help but feel embarra.s.sed. He looked at the clothes and let out a guilty smile: "I, I didn't know that you will come back…"
"Did you miss me?" Feng Fei suddenly asked Hai Xiu.
Although Hai Xiu was feeling embarra.s.sed to express his love for Feng Fei, he still nodded honestly: "Missed you…"
"How much?” Feng Fei grabbed Hai Xiu's wrist, his fingers friskily entering inside the wide cuffs. “Come on, say it."
Hai Xiu tried to pull back, blus.h.i.+ng as he spoke: “How… am I supposed to…”
"Just say what's on your mind ah.” Feng Fei looked at Hai Xiu and said with a smile, “I ran all the way over here to see you, aren't you willing to at least answer me? Come on, how much did you miss me?”
The blus.h.i.+ng Hai Xiu: "Every minute… I missed you so much, this… how to say this…?"
The unguarded Feng Fei, who was suddenly fed a big mouthful of honey by his little boyfriend, gawked for two seconds before reacting. He quickly pressed the person down directly on the bed and gnashed his teeth: "I haven't seen you for a few days and your skill had grown ah?
Hai Xiu simply felt wronged. Feng Fei had asked him, and he said a few sentences and didn't even dare lie, but Feng Fei still taught him a 'good' lesson in bed…
Although he quite liked this kind of lesson very much.
After teaching him a 'good' lesson, Hai Xiu's face was red till his ears.
Since Feng Fei bought a cake when he got off of the plane, the two celebrated the New Year with a cake. There were actually lots of people on the mountain who were celebrating with fireworks and firecrackers, and Feng Fei and Hai Xiu sat in front of the French window to watch those fireworks. While eating the cake, Feng Fei suddenly asked Hai Xiu: "What is your New Year's wish/resolution?"
Hai Xiu thought that it was too embarra.s.sing to say, so he smiled and asked back: "What about you?'
"I ah…" Feng Fei took the strawberry in his cake and put it on Hai Xiu's, he shook his head with a smile and said: "Forget it, it was too cheesy that I really can't say it."
"Tell, tell me…" Hai Xiu was a little anxious, he whispered, "I want to hear it."
Feng Fei frowned slightly: "Really? I've never said it before, but I'm really sincere about it."
Hai Xiu quickly urged Feng Fei to say it, he was really itching to hear what the wish was and didn't have enough time to blush: "Say… Say it ah…"
Feng Fei stared at Hai Xiu, and then said with a gentle smile: "This new year ah, I wished for you to be safe and peaceful, to pa.s.s the college entrance examination smoothly and get in a good university. Also for your body to not feel any discomfort."
After hearing this, Hai Xiu's heart couldn't wait to go out and roll a few laps on the snow. He ate the strawberry and felt like that it was made of sugar.
"Don't just let me talk ah." Feng Fei kicked Hai Xiu's leg lightly, "What about you?"
Hai Xiu was still feeling embarra.s.sed to say it, but Feng Fei urged him: "Is it related to me?"
Hai Xiu nodded shyly, Feng Fei smiled: "You aren't too bad as you still have some conscience. I didn't waste a trip to come to you to celebrate the new year."
A light bulb went on1 over Hai Xiu's head, he smiled and said: "En, you'll be 18 this year, right? You can now finally get your driver's license and no need to drive without a license!"
Feng Fei gawked: "Your New Year's wish is for me to have a driver's license?!"
Hai Xiu squatted and quickly explained: "No, my original wish is not this…"
Feng Fei gave Hai Xiu a distrustful look: "If you don't want to tell me, then—"
Hai Xiu knew that even if he jumped into the yellow river, he couldn't get himself clean2, so he anxiously said: "My wish was for you to be safe and peaceful this year as well…"
Feng Fei gave Hai Xiu a tender smile, but Hai Xiu felt even more embarra.s.sed, thinking that the former was teasing him. Feng Fei rubbed Hai Xiu's head and looked at the time, before saying: "You aren't sleepy? You have to go to cla.s.s tomorrow. You need to sleep early."
Hai Xiu wanted to be with Feng Fei more, that was why he was reluctant to sleep. He then asked: "When are you going to leave tomorrow?"
Feng Fei calculated the time and said: "I'll probably… leave at nine o'clock."
Seeing that Feng Fei have enough time to sleep until eight o'clock tomorrow, Hai Xiu wasn't in a hurry. However, he was worried that Feng Fei didn't feel full after only eating a few mouthfuls of cake: "Are you still hungry? Do you want me to cook something for you to eat?"
Basically, Feng Fei hadn't eaten dinner yet and was indeed hungry at the moment. But he didn't eat much of the cake because it was too sweet. Therefore, he nodded.
Hai Xiu thought for a moment and then said: "Is noodles… okay?"
Feng Fei just simply said: "I'll eat whatever you'll cook."
Hai Xiu smiled, got up and went downstairs. Feng Fei followed him all the way.
Last night, the auntie prepared a chicken soup for Hai Xiu and he only drank a few mouthfuls. Now it just came in handy. He would heat up the chicken soup and when it boiled, he'd put the noodles in the soup. After cooking the noodles, it filled out a large bowl.
Feng Fei was hungry and ate the noodles quickly, he even repeatedly praised Hai Xiu's cooking skills. Hai Xiu was embarra.s.sed and quickly refuted: "No… it's probably because of auntie's chicken soup."
Feng Fei shook his head: "No, no, you did well! This noodles are well-cooked."
Hai Xiu couldn't help but smile. Feng Fei then said while eating: "The day before yesterday, I also praised you to my mother."
Hai Xiu was shocked: “P—Praised me?"
Feng Fei looked up and smirked: "Yeah. About your good grades, that you have a good personality, that you can cook, that you will take care of me and the most important thing is that you especially like me…"
Hai Xiu didn't believe it when he heard this, he smiled and said: "What nonsense."
"I really did praise you." Feng Fei said, "I also told my mother that you're here, so they don't have to worry about me and the college entrance examination."
Once Hai Xiu thought of the fact that Feng Fei's parents were emigrating, he started to feel bad for him. Feng Fei smiled at Hai Xiu: “In the future, you have to treat me well, right? You're the only family I have left in this place.”
Hai Xiu gave a serious guarantee in his reply: “I… I will take good care of you. I'll always treat you well….”
Feng Fei lifted his eyebrows: “In the future, you'll always listen to me?”
Hai Xiu blushed and nodded his head: “I'll listen.”
Feng Fei was abundantly satisfied. Once he was finished eating, he cleared the plates and chopsticks from the table, saying: “Go to bed first. I'm going to take a shower. I worked up a sweat on the walk over…”
As Feng Fei considered the fact that he almost missed his meeting with Hai Xiu, he started grumbling his complaints: “d.a.m.n it, that driver from earlier just refused to drive up here. It didn't matter what I said or how much money I offered, forcing me to climb up this snowy peak step by step… it's like climbing to a mountaintop to pray for a child, just missing the three kneels and nine kowtows.”
Hai Xiu laughed until his sides hurt. Accompanying Feng Fei upstairs, he was just about to enter the room when Feng Fei swept a look over him: “Oh, right. It just so happen that you're still wearing that set of clothes. Let me take a few pictures of you on my cell phone. I'll take them with me when I leave tomorrow.”
It hadn't occurred to Hai Xiu that Feng Fei would be concerned about this. His face turned red as he stammered: "You… haven't you seen everything already?”
“I want to be able to see it ‘repeatedly'.” The corners of Feng Fei's mouth curved upward slightly. “Who was it who left me voicemails, saying I had to repeatedly listen? I didn't ask you to record anything. What, I can't even take a few pictures?”
Feng Fei sneered and added: “I was afraid you'd miss me, so I meticulously took some selfies for you earlier! When my brother saw me, he yelled at me for having a narcissism disorder! What about you?! What pictures did you take for me? If it wasn't pictures of the examination, it was pictures of the blackboard!”
Feng Fei tugged his phone out and threw it at Hai Xiu. Hai Xiu caught it as though it were a hot potato, his tone dropping low as he pleaded for mercy: “Do… Do I really have to take some pictures…"
Feng Fei stuck his hands in his pockets and took a step forward, leaning forward slightly as he looked toward Hai Xiu: “You are too embarra.s.sed? Then, a moment ago… who was it who said he was going to always listen to me in the future?”
Hai Xiu was speechless, Feng Fei smiled: “I didn't tell you to take them in front of me. That already count as treating you well, baby…” Feng Fei tilted his head, murmuring into Hai Xiu's ear, “Make sure those photos aren't too restrained…”
Hai Xiu covered his ears, looking like an overly frightened rabbit as he stared pitifully at Feng Fei with slightly reddened eyes. Only then did Feng Fei straighten up, picked up a pair of freshly laundered underpants, and headed to the bathroom while whistling.
