That's right, this rough-looking carved statuette was something that could improve Stat and was a quest item. Even if it was not a part of a cryptic quest, the fact that it could improve one's Stat would have attracted Ye Qi's attention regardless. Even the magical short sword John gave him only had the property of "Increased damage against dark and negative energy creatures". When Ye Qi knew this bauble could increase his Stat, he swore to make it his.

If not for the fact the statuette belonged to one of the playmakers of the underground scene, Ye Qi would have found someone to appraise the statuette to find out whether it was a legendary Hallowed Artefact.

Hallowed Artefacts, were legendary items that Demon Hunters would risk their lives to obtain. The only reason someone as hardworking as John was only a middle-ranked Demon Hunter was because there was a group of otherwise-gifted people clogging up the ranking about him. Above the regular Demon Hunters, there were the Apostles, the Hallowed Artefact Wielders and the Heaven's Scars.

The Apostles were those who had control over the elements like earth, water, fire, wind, lightning, light, darkness or transformations or illusions. They could be further separated into three different levels according to their actual power, the Star, the Moon and the Sun.

The Heaven's Scars referred to those who were touched by the Power that Be before they were born. They were several times stronger than those who came into their power later in life. Ye Qi had no idea how strong this group of people were, since the only information he got on them he heard from John, Old Walter and other Demon Hunters. He had not seen one Heaven's Scar personally before.

Lastly, the Hallowed Artefact Wielders were as the name suggests, the users of Hallowed Artefact. The power of Hallowed Artefacts were more varied and creative than the power of the Apostles. According to legends, there was a Hallowed Artefact that could manipulate the s.p.a.ce and time itself. The power difference of the Hallowed Artefact Wielders were separated the same way as the Apostles, the Moon, the Sun and the Star. Even though Ye Qi had no idea what kind of power this statuette possessed, he desired it. After all, the fact that it could help increase his Stat alone was reason enough for him to desire it!

When he laid his hand on the statuette, Ye Qi could feel its faint magic coursing through him, it was then that he decided to make the statuette his no matter what. However, the statuette's current owner was Marley. If he showed any trace of interest, Ye Qi would have to sell both his kidneys before he could get his hands on the statuette. Therefore, contrary to how he was feeling within, Ye Qi maintained a cavalier att.i.tude when he asked the question.

"One of my men collected this morning, it's just a worthless bauble! Admittedly, the workmans.h.i.+p is not bad but I suspect it is laser crafting so it is practically worthless in the eye of a collector! If you want it, then I will sell it to you for one Gold Doubloon!" Marley mumbled non-committedly as he toyed with the gold ring in his palm.

"Since you said it's not worth anything, why still ask me for one Gold Doubloon? How about this, just give it to me to commemorate our successful trade? Anyway, remember my stock tomorrow morning, if you aren't there at the meeting place, I will torch this place to the ground! Then, good night!"

Ye Qi grabbed the statuette out of the cabinet and toss it around in his hand acting like he did not care much about it before shoving it in his coat. Instantly, a familiar sense of iciness radiated from the statuette through his hands to Ye Qi's entire body.

Magical Statuette: Might look ugly and roughly-hewn but is loaded with magical energy. A statuette shrouded in mystery. Effect: Agility +1.

Indeed, Ye Qi's stat increased!

Even though he still had no leads on the C level quest, it did not dampen Ye Qi's soaring spirits. With a glance at his Character Screen, a flash of joy crossed Ye Qi's eyes. Before Marley realized he had done a raw deal, Ye Qi waved at the Black Market Dealer, walked to the window and leaped over it.
