I Am Legend 9 The Escape

Ryth shouted and ran, Both Llyod and Hill followed behind him. Daedalus took the initiative to put the dungeon core inside the inventory.

The dungeon began to crumble and monsters's voices could be heard.

"WARGH!"

"RAWR!"

"KAAAK!"

"Daedalus, could you scan our way out and search for a way that has less monsters?" Asked Ryth.

"No problem, leave it to me!" Daedalus said in a proud tone.

The second he finished his sentences, the 'Eye of Daedalus' shone with blue light and the light gushed out to his surroundings.

"Is that your scan magic?" Ryth asked curiously while running.

"Yeah, this magic is for scanning the terrain, or a building. You can use this to scan literally almost everything." Replied Daedalus in a serious tone. After a short pause, he continued, "I've done the scanning. This is the result. The red doots all over the map are monsters, while the green and 2 yellow doots are us."

A map appeared on his left corner side of interface. The map looked exactly like the one in 'The Throne', Ryth grinned as he thought to himself. "This 'Eye of Daedalus' is like Ir*n M*n's suit and Daedalus is Jarv*s supporting him. It's so convenient to have it in my possession."

Due to the dungeon already losing its power, the monsters realized that they couldn't stay there anymore. That's why it was so easy for them to go straight to where they wanted. Although they still encountered some monsters, but Ryth, Llyod and Hill had no difficulties in killing them. Because, the monsters who were on this floor level were only level 20.

Ryth could see the HP bar of the monsters as well as their level. He knew he was able to do that, possibly because they are not human beings. Whereas, for the other two, no matter how hard he tried to see their HP bar, level and EXP bar, he couldn't.

Ryth then instructed Llyod and Hill to hasten their speed. The secret room was in the floor level between 2 and 3. With their speed that were so fast, they had already arrived on the second floor. After running for a minute on the second floor. They only had another 3 minutes remaining to escape. Just as Ryth saw the stairs that led to the first floor, He saw something crawling out from the floor in front of the stairs. A medium-sized centipede appeared in front of them.

"It's a level 35, Dark Centipede?" Ryth's expression turned solemn. He shouted. "Hill, Llyod! Can you both kill it quickly?"

"Yes, we can, my lord. But our weapon is already worn out, so I think it will be longer than it should be." Said Hill.

Ryth frowned and thought to himself. "If only I have a good skill or weapon now..."

Suddenly Daedalus interrupted his thoughts. "Oi, did you forget about me? remember I have a s.p.a.cial magic?"

Ryth came to a realization as he smiled. "Ah, right. You better give me something good, Daedalus!"

Daedalus laughed and replied, "Who do you think I am? I'm the most and probably the best craftsman in history! I'm not just famous, you know?"

Suddenly a dark green sword appeared on Ryth's right hand.

"This is a very good sword!" Exclaimed Ryth in surprise.

"Ku ku ku! I made this sword before I made the 'Eye of Daedalus'! It's an enchanted item, or you can also call it Mythical item. Its rarity is only second to legendary items!" Answered Daedalus with a proud tone.

"Hahaha! It's good that you didn't disappoint me." Exclaimed Ryth as he turned his head towards Llyod and Hill and said, "Llyod, draw its attention! Hill, back us up with your arrows! Attack its blind spot!"

"Roger!" replied Llyod as he ran towards the centipede and shouted a battle cry.

"RARGH!" Llyod's battle cry taunted the centipede.

The centipede moved towards Llyod as it tries to bite Llyod with its huge teeth.

"Wushh!"

But, before it could get near Llyod, an arrow pierced its eye. The centipede let out a loud cry as it received another attack from Llyod's great sword.

"BOOM!"

"RARGH!" the centipede screamed in pain.

"Wow, that's [Heavy Swing]. A basic skill for berserker in 'The Throne'. But look at the damage it does to the centipede. That skill is at least level 4!" Exclaimed Ryth in shock. Llyod was probably at around level 45-50 if he has a level.

"Okay! Get back, Llyod!" Shouted Ryth.

Llyod jumped to the side as Ryth ran towards the centipede.

"Use the {Borrowed Soul} skill! It will open the hidden skill of two sword style, {Dual slas.h.!.+}" Shouted Daedalus.

Ryth grinned since he remembered that this {Dual Slash} skill was so powerful back in 'The Throne'. This skill was one of his favorite skills in the game. But the disadvantage of this skill was its cooldown duration.

"I need to end this very quickly!" Ryth bit his left hand's thumb, he put the blood on his left palm and activated a skill.

"Borrowed Soul!"

Suddenly, a duplicate of [Vengeance] appeared on his left hand as he charged forward and jump towards the centipede.

"Die!" Shouted Ryth as he activated another skill, {Dual Slash}!

The centipede tried to avoid the attack, but Hill didn't let it move as he shot another arrow, now with archer's skill, {Cripple}!

Once it hit the target, {Cripple} can stun the opponent for 3 seconds. Although its duration was too short and it does almost no damage. But 3 seconds were enough for Ryth to end its life!

Ryth saw with his left eye a notification which appeared above the centipede's head as its head sliced in half. The centipede fell to the ground.

With +300 attack from one [Vengeance], the other {Vengeance] boosted Ryth's attack by another +300. Since Ryth could use the sword, it means that his STR was at least at 35 points or more, plus the damage done from {Dual Slash} ended its life in an instant.

As soon as the centipede was defeated, Ryth shouted to Llyod and Hill as he ran towards the stairs, "Run! Follow me!"

Llyod and Hill was still shocked but hurriedly shooked their heads and followed behind Ryth.

They ran very fast and after a short time, they finally arrived at the entrance of the dungeon. They were quite quick as they do not need to avoid any monsters on the first floor. The monsters there were weak and its only a matter of time until they finished. They fought their way, as they continue running towards the entrance of the dungeon.

Just as they were finally outside the dungeon, The dungeon entrance fell to the ground, and the monsters who weren't made it in time was sucked in with the dungeon.

The terrain where the dungeon once stood there was changed. Now, there was a huge crater there.

But the danger wasn't over yet. Ryth saw six monsters outside. Although there were many monsters that couldn't made it in time to escape, there were still many monsters who had escaped in time. But, the good thing was, the stronger monsters had already killed the weaker monsters. So, there were many monster's corpses outside the dungeon. The six of them were busy eating the corpses of the monsters.

He hurriedly signaled to Llyod and Hill to find a place where they could hide. Once they found the place, they examined the situation around them.

Ryth asked in a low voice but his voice carried a hint of surprise. "Daedalus, why do they killed the other monsters and eating them?!"

Hill and Llyod turned to Ryth as they heard Ryth had called the eye's name.

Ryth saw the two of them was curious about his conversation with Daedalus, Ryth commanded. "Daedalus, let the two of them hear your voice!"

"Alright." Daedalus said after a short pause he continued, "Listen, okay."

Hill and Llyod were slightly shocked, it was indeed true that this eye was an item that had a soul within it!

"But firstly, I will change the eye mode so Ryth can see the mana flow." Said Daedalus as the 'Eye of Daedalus' turned red.

There were many red energies gushed from the monster's body. As they ate other monster's body, their energy seems getting bigger and bigger.

"What you see is a mana flow. I deducted that these monsters consumed the mana which the dungeon core had produced and distributed throughout the dungeon. They can live without eating other monsters because of this. But since the dungeon is now gone. The amount of mana they needed was too big that their surroundings couldn't gave them the amount they needed. Because the amount of mana that flows here is insufficient compared to when they are inside the dungeon. So they need to kill other monsters and eat their bodies as many as possible to refill their mana. And it happened that many weak monsters tried to escape too, hence they are like a bunch of chicken waiting to be slaughter by the wolves." Explained Daedalus to Ryth in a serious tone.

"So they are starving right now? It's like they are in a berserk mode until their mana is sufficient?" Asked Ryth with concern.

"Yeah, you can put it like that. Because they are desperate right now. If they can't refill their mana in time, they will enter a weak state due to the lack of mana."

"So is it the same for other monsters who attacked human? It's to refill their mana?" Asked Hill in serious tone.

"Yes. It's dangerous to let so many starving monsters like these around. If they arrive at one of the nearest village, the entire village will be destroyed. Since logically speaking, no small villages has good guards to protect them." Replied Daedalus as he sounded like he heaved a long breath.

"We have to do something, since we are the one who made this situation happened." Said Ryth in a worried tone.

"But, how do we handle this situation, my lord? Our equipments are too weak. My great sword already has a crack after I used the {Heavy Swing} once..." Said Llyod as he scratched the back of his head.

"I realized that you have 3 grand soul stones, I only need one grand soul stone and a couple of minutes. I can make you guys some soul stone bombs if Ryth let me take control of his hands for some time." Daedalus suggested.
