Li Yubing discovered that after all these years, Tang Xue had not changed at all.
She was still as much of a scoundrel as before.
……
After morning lessons ended, Tang Xue received Li Yubing’s summon again. He requested her to meet him at the astronomy building before heading over to the canteen together.
Tang Xue rolled her eyes. This guy, did he really thought that he’s an emperor? Someone who needed her to go receive and wait on him?
“Li Yubing, are you a dog? Can’t head out without someone holding your leash?” She scoffed at him over the phone.
Li Yubing calmly tossed out the two words “I’m waiting” and hung up.
Tang Xue gathered her two companions Liao Zhenyu and Xia Menghuan. Walking in a crowd was great for boosting morale. She spiritedly felt like she was the manifestation of righteousness. When they reached the vicinity of the astronomy building, she could see Li Yubing standing at the building entrance from afar. This simply couldn’t be helped as that b.u.g.g.e.r was too eye catching.
Liao Zhenyu swayed on his bicycle as he kept to Tang Xue’s side. When he saw Li Yubing, he somewhat worriedly asked Tang Xue, “Eh boss, he seems to be even taller than me? Just how tall is he?”
“I think he’s 1.88 m. He was shorter than me when we were young. Goodness
knows what he ate to grow into this height. It’s like a crayfish turning into a lobster, tsk tsk tsk.”
Liao Zhenyu a little envious. “He must be great at slam dunks.”
Just then, Li Yubing snapped out of his thoughts and saw them. He crooked a finger at Tang Xue.
Liao Zhenyu was extremely dissatisfied. “Do you think my boss is a dog?”
“Shut up, you……” Some things, even when understood, didn’t need to be said out loud thank you very much!
When Tang Xue walked over, Li Yubing tossed his bag into her arms. Tang Xue caught onto the bag, and immediately turned to pa.s.s it to Liao Zhenyu. Liao Zhenyu placed the bag into his bicycle’s basket.
The whole d.a.m.ned process was just like playing Pa.s.s The Parcel.
It was only then that Li Yubing took a proper look at Liao Zhenyu and also glanced at Xia Menghuan.
Liao Zhenyu looked like an honest guy with his thick eyebrows and large eyes while Xia Menghuan was pale, fragile and looked to be easily bullied. Both of them seemed to be Tang Xue’s newly kept slaves.
Li Yubing thought of his past and couldn’t help but to feel a tinge of sympathy. He shook his head and commented, “A leopard never changes its spots.”
The four headed towards the canteen, the atmosphere a little awkward. Li Yubing was originally a person
person of few words and since Tang Xue was annoyed with him, she naturally couldn’t be bothered to entertain him. Liao Zhenyu was acting on the principle of “I won’t move if the enemy doesn’t move”, and quietly observed from the side while pus.h.i.+ng his bicycle. Xia Menghuan followed behind the three of them and became as invisible as air.
Upon reaching the canteen, Xia Menghuan and Liao Zhenyu instinctively disappeared in the direction of the delicious scents to grab their lunch.
Tang Xue rolled up her sleeves and was about to do the same. She took a step before being halted by Li Yubing with a hand on her shoulder. She immediately felt the affected shoulder being weighted down, turned and glared at him. “What?”
“I want to eat……”
He gave yet another detailed list of dishes.
Tang Xue took a deep breath, narrowed her eyes at him and suddenly smiled. “Li Yubing, have you worked in a restaurant before?”
“No, why?”
“Do you know that when staff are annoyed, they’ll spit into the food?” Tang Xue purposely blinked at him as she spoke, her behaviour especially antagonizing and asking for a beating.
Li Yubing asked, “Are you going to spit into my food?”
“That depends on my mood,” Tang Xue loftily said.
“If I eat your saliva,” On saying this, Li Yubing deliberately paused. He lowered his head to her ear as
ear as if he was going to say something extremely embarra.s.sing and whispered, “That means we… indirectly kissed.”
Tang Xue was fl.u.s.tered. She sputtered, “Li Yubing, why, and how, in the world did you become so shameless.”
Li Yubing lightly raised his brows. “You flatter me. If you also had a deskmate named Tang Xue, you’ll be able to do the same.”
Infuriated, Tang Xue pressed her lips together and glared at him.
Li Yubing serenely straightened up, glanced down and directly met her eyes.
After facing off for some time, Tang Xue pointed a finger at him and said, “You’re the s.h.i.+t, you win, just you wait.”
Li Yubing sat on an empty seat at the side and leisurely leaned back. With one hand resting on the table and a leg crossed over another, it really seemed like he took himself as an emperor.
He copied her earlier behaviour and blinked at her. “I’m waiting.”
Tang Xue walked off in a huff.
Li Yubing has discovered a truth.
When dealing with a scoundrel, you need to be an even bigger scoundrel.
He suffered in the past because he was way too honest.
Tang Xue was still buying lunch when Liao Zhenyu and Xia Menghuan came back with their food. They put down their trays, sat opposite Li Yubing and eyed him fervently.
Liao Zhenyu suddenly understood his boss’s strong feelings of envy and resentment. Li Yubing here Li Yubing here was a perfect example of a winner in life. He was not only tall and good looking but also excelled in his studies. A guy like this definitely had a bunch of fangirls following him around. Don’t just mention his boss, even he was jealous of Li Yubing.
“I’m warning you,” Liao Zhenyu suddenly opened his mouth.
“Warning you,” Xia Menghuan echoed closely, her tone of a straight man who had been acting in comedy plays for the past twenty years.
Liao Zhenyu: “We’re all unquestionably medical students.”
Xia Menghuan: “Medical students.”
Liao Zhenyu: “If you dare to bully my boss.”
Xia Menghuan: “If you dare.”
Liao Zhenyu: “I have a hundred ways of making you unable to walk.”
Xia Menghuan: “f.u.c.k. You. Up.”
Liao Zhenyu: “Cough cough cough……”
He was completely thrown off by her train of thought. Liao Zhenyu was unable to continue with his threat and choked till he was red in the face. He surrept.i.tiously flashed a glare at Xia Menghuan.
Xia Menghuan touched her nose.
The atmosphere momentarily became fairly awkward. Fortunately, at this moment, Tang Xue bustled back with a lunch tray. She saw Liao Zhenyu’s reddened face and Xia Menghuan’s wandering gaze, and felt that they were behaving abnormally. She put down the tray and curiously asked, “What happened?”
Li Yubing raised his head to innocently look at her. “They said you want to f.u.c.k me up.”
