Lou Qingwu laughed, so she wanted her to plead her case?

But if she really went to do that, wouldn’t all of her efforts be in waste.

The laughter in her mouth deepened, making Ruan Zhen’s heart feel even more uncomfortable.

She just knew that little sl*t Lou QIngwu wouldn’t agree so easily, but she’d already knelt down and begged her, what else did she want?

If it wasn’t for laoye and his brashness making him push all the blame on her as he reported to the emperor, the emperor wouldn’t have ordered to him to kick her out of the residence.

Then she wouldn’t have to lower her head to Lou Qingwu!

She couldn’t be kicked out.

She was already old and if she was kicked out for this reason, she could only return to the Ruan residence.

And with how hard she had previously pressured her brother, how could he treat her well?

Furthermore, she’d spent her whole life on the Lou residence, so she definitely couldn’t let that sl*t Chi Mei’er get everything so easily!

Right now, the only person who could change the emperor’s mind was Lou Qingwu.

As long as she went and pleaded her case, the emperor would definitely let her stay at the Lou residence.

“Qingwu, second mother begs you, just say a few words for me. As long as I can stay, I’ll do anything! At least look upon all those years that I cared for you, help me, please!”

Hearing Ruan Zhen’s words, Lou Qingwu just smiled.

“All those years of care? Second mother, your so-called years of ‘care’ were just standing on the side and watching little sister ruin my reputation? And trying your hardest to scheme for my death? If that is called ‘care’, then I’d rather not want it! Also,” Lou Qingwu slightly bent down, her eyes dark as she looked her in the eye, “If this was me being kicked out of the residence, and I was the one begging you, would you help me?”

But Ruan Zhen swallowed back the rest of that sentence.

She only hated that she couldn’t kill Lou Qingwu on the ground she stood.

If it was her, she’d be gleefully shooting fireworks in celebration!

Lan Bai then bent down to grab Ruan Zhen but Ruan Zhen dodged her.

She lifted up her head as her previously grieving eyes grew hateful, “Lou Qingwu, you really won’t help me?!”

Lou Qingwu was still languid as she leaned against the doorway, “Why should I help you?”

She was lazing around with nothing to do, why would she purposely go out of her way to save someone who kept bullying her?

Was she stupid?

Ruan Zhen’s expression grew dark, only hating that she couldn’t rip off a piece of meat off of Lou Qingwu’s body.

She pressed against the ground to stand up, brus.h.i.+ng the dust off her clothes.

She looked at Lou Qingwu coldly, “Aren’t you scared that I’ll make that thing public?”

“What thing?” Lou Qingwu’s face was still immovable.

“If I went to laoye right now and told him that he’s beloved eldest madam right now, was still alive, what do you think he would do?” Ruan Zhen’s mouth corner jerked viciously.

Her eyes were poisonous, “I heard that your mother’s very pleased with her current status as the ninth madam, but if everyone else knew that she was a woman who was married to two men, that really is … improper.”

A cold light flashed in Lou Qingwu’s eyes.

“If you make it public, no one would believe in you. There are many people in the world who look alike, who would believe you?”

TL note:  

Improper - the phrase used here is ‘a woman not guarding the wife’s code’ which is basically a bunch of rules that goes like: a woman must follow her husband, and when her husband dies, she must follow her son, can’t marry twice, can’t divorce her husband, don’t cheat even though your husband has 20 concubines, don’t be jealous, etc. Super archaic and it’s a very big offence to not ‘guard the code’ and be called ‘improper’. Women would die because they were found to be cheating on their husbands or they could be divorced for being too ‘jealous’ of the other wives/concubines. The public would spit on you if they found you ‘improper’.
