Intense Madness
There are instances when time is cruel. I had hoped that in this lifetime that at least once, time would stand still for me and begin to flow backwards. Even so, I understand that the flow of time is impartial to all beings. Time cannot be moved just because someone wills it to.
Right now I am fiercely hoping for all time to stop right at this moment. I was alone right now in bed, just earnestly praying to an unknown G.o.d that Mich.e.l.la doesn’t come. But the fact of the matter was that there was no way that would happen. My body trembled in fear.
Aa, I’m trembling all over, to think this is what terror felt like. Somehow or another I was able to stop the trembling in my body.
[… Open it.]
I heard Mich.e.l.la’s voice from the other side of the door. There was a little bit of hesitation within my heart concerning opening the door with the key. That is because I really, really didn’t want to confront Mich.e.l.la.
[… I said to open it.]
As to not allow Mother, who was in the kitchen, to hear, Mich.e.l.la’s voice was intentionally much lower than usual, which unnecessarily further fueled my fear.
So as to not make a sound, I wrapped my body with the blanket and headed towards the door. I inserted the key, careful in order to avoid any excessive noise. At that moment, my mind was rather jumbled so I was surprised when all of a sudden Mich.e.l.la forcefully swung the door open.
[Mi…, Mi… Chel… La.]
[You do not have the right to address me by name you lowly Majin!]
I have never before seen Mich.e.l.la so intimidating. My legs gave out under the pressure of her hostility. Mich.e.l.la was always very cold, indifferent and spoke badly of me but I never imagined that she could act this way. Naturally, tears began to form due to fear.
Seeing my face, Mich.e.l.la’s face becomes ugly and twisted.
[What are you trying to attain by pretending to cry?! How disgusting! I hope you die quickly!]
[I, I’m,… s-sorr…y.]
Firstly, I started off with a word of apology but, in an instant, was violently struck by Mich.e.l.la. Under Mich.e.l.la’s rough breaths, I became aware of the aching pain in my cheek. Aa, I was. .h.i.t just now. I am a child right now, so the strength of an adult is very great. I was supposed to have been hit again, but I was blown away and struck my shoulder against the wall. I groaned from the dull pain coming from my shoulder. Even Mich.e.l.la would stop after seeing me collapse, trying to sit myself back up again.
… I was mistaken.
Mich.e.l.la was laughing. She was laughing as happily as a child tormenting an insect.
Mich.e.l.la lifted my stiff body into the air. Words of apology kept on flowing out of my mouth, but I continued to be beaten by Mich.e.l.la who showed no signs of stopping no matter how much I begged for forgiveness.
[Haa, Haa, Haa.]
Mich.e.l.la was getting on in her years. Surely she’s exhausted from hitting me so much. I was beaten so many times I didn’t know what time it was anymore. Having fallen to the floor I stopped moving as moving even a finger will cause my body intense pain.
[Why? Why? Why was something like you born?! It would have been better if you were never existed… Before you become an adult… Before you kill a person using your evil magic, I will kill you. Kill you. Kill you! Kill! Kill!! Kill!!!!]
Mich.e.l.la’s hands were wrapped around my neck. When I’m with my family, her kind brown eyes shone with a gentle light, yet right now reflected in her eyes was a light dyed with madness and insanity. My eyelids naturally close on their own. I can’t breathe. It hurts.
Again, I’m going to die.
To think that I was going to die again and while feeling this pain.
Yada, Yada… I don’t want to die. I’ve only spent six years in this world. There are still things that I wanted to do. Despite the pain and suffering, I still wanted to use magic. I still wanted to go to school. I still wanted to tell my family ‘thank you’.
[Mi- Chel- La…, Let go of me!]
I resisted.
