h.e.l.lo Greaders, this week I’m on a diet cleanse as a new years resolution and I can see stars s.h.i.+ning already. I’m so hungry I can’t think straight. This translation business got me blacking-out. So, please forgive any editing errors

Seeing Mu Tian's silhouette slowly disappear into their walk-in closet, Xi Jin finally understood something. What all happened late last night was a way for Mu Tian to remind her of her place. It was a lesson about how their marriage wasn't as simple as she had imagined it earlier. As Mu Tian said before, their marriage wasn’t just about them now. Overnight, it became everybody's business.

Walking back-in out of the closet, President Xi looked like his dapper, handsome self. He usually liked to drape himself in darker shades, teaming his formal suits with a sharp charcoal black s.h.i.+rt, looking lethal but legal as ever.

They had been married for so long, but except for a few days when they holidayed in the mountains, Xi Jin had never seen Mu Tian in anything other than his formal suits, crisp s.h.i.+rts, expensive leather shoes, etc… basically things that increased his hidden charm and elegance while maintaing his overbearing and strong aura that froze people over.

So, Xi Jin couldn't deny that she was, in fact, scared of him.

Unfortunately for Xi Jin, this man- her husband, fundamentally led a western-styled life. Their meals were usually simple, nutritious and continental in style, which was a far cry from what Xi Jin, an ordinary girl from the suburbs, was used to. Regardless of how the meals were, Xi Jin would feel utterly defeated whenever her meal requests and choices would be disregarded by the house-maids and servants who would only follow preferences given by their master, Mu Tian.

In over 30 years, Mu Tian had lived a regular, methodical, somewhat monotonous life, wherein eating, dressing, working, even holidays were all meticulously planned and needed to be prepared in his style. Even, when he was absent during certain meals with Xi Jin, he would give the kitchen orders in advance about what to serve their mistress for lunch or dinner. The cooks would then cook her meals according to his preferences, something over which Xi Jin would unhappily argue and protest with Mu Tian. But, the man of the house wouldn't hear any of it reminding her that it indeed was for her own good health.

In particular, Xi Jin was strictly prohibited from eating her favourite Chinese fried fritters which Mu Tian strongly believed were carcinogenic in nature, and would cause cancer in her later years. Of course, Xi Jin felt this was utterly ridiculous since she had lived her life eating these for the past 20 years.

Eating a sandwich with a fresh gla.s.s of milk at the breakfast table, Xi Jin felt it was rather hilarious that the men of the same family were rather different in their thinking. Wasn't it only a few months ago when Rong Fei Lin would bring her soy milk and fried fritters everyday, but in contrast, the man sitting next to her was completely against it.

Taking a few more bites of her sandwich, Xi Jin decided to leave the rest on her plate, when she heard Mu Tian’s curt voice from behind the newspaper, "Finish it, you're not allowed to leave until you do so."

And just like a kid, Xi Jin could only submit.

A little later, Mu Tian folded the paper in his hands and put it aside. As he stood up, he gave her a quick glance. knowing that look, Xi Jin hurriedly shoved the last piece of her sandwich in her mouth, and gulped it down with the last sip of her milk, looking rather ridiculous and clumsy.

Seeing her hurry, Mu Tian couldn't hide his frown but he still chose to not say anything.

Brus.h.i.+ng off the bread crumbs with the back of her hand, Xi Jin hurriedly stood up, carried his briefcase to his side, like a devoted virtuous wife, and sent him to the door while giving him a sweet peck on his cheek as she tiptoed.

Seeing him walk over to the car, Xi Jin planned to wave a goodbye when she suddenly saw Mu Tian turn around to tell her casually, "Next week is my father's death anniversary, be ready and accompany me to see him."

T/n: I haven’t read a single c-novel yet which requires the ML’s to diet. Here, our MC eats fried food everyday. And if I even eat a fried crumb, I’ll put on like a 100 pounds. Honestly, I really wanna be a hot fict.i.tious character somehow. Even, if you get bulky on the sides, your author can draw and erase those areas and draw you shapely curves with bigger b.o.o.bs, a very tiny waist and a h.e.l.l of a Kardas.h.i.+an-a.s.s.
