Chapter 404 The Mad Lab 11

There were plenty of bedrooms on the mansion’s top floor, but the only occupied room was the Master’s Bedroom.

Servants had their own room, all of which reflected their poverty standing.

There were also private rooms with comfortable sofas inside.

Upon entering the guest bedroom, one would be welcomed with the sound of a crackling fire and the sight of a large plushy bed and extra wide armchair.

p-A- n-d-A-n-0-v-e-1、(c)om The Doctor’s room was not too different, but her bed was purple, and her armchair was overstuffed, signifying the high status she held in the mansion. Her bed looked so comfortable, as if inviting everyone who saw it.

Players could enter any room and rest to gain some of their HP and MP back, but they had to make sure that no maid would spot them. Once they were caught, monsters would be summoned to eliminate them.

The stairs after the bedroom led to the observatory. It had nothing special in particular unless being able to view all the monsters on the island.

If the players could solve the riddle in the observatory, they could utilize the telescope to give them a more detailed view of the entire island.

Doctor Frida was able to spy on her little guests, Ren’s group, for example, because of the observatory.

The woman seemed like to be in multiple rooms at the same time. She had that ability to travel anywhere in her mansion within a blink of an eye.

Most players had enough. They were frightened of the monsters, tired from running from them, and weary from everything that happened.

Some even purposely let the monsters kill them, so their suffering would end. They were done with this server and some thought that they could try their luck on a different server.

Of course, there were also players who kept on pus.h.i.+ng through, determined to earn the rewards they could get at the end of the journey.

The players remaining were steeled to face even the most hideous of monsters, and were mostly from big guilds. It was part of their training regimes and discipline before the event. With it, not even the scariest monster could sway them to turn back.

The initial thousands of parties were reduced to hundreds, most of which belonged to the top hundred guilds in their own right.

But right now, every guild who was in the Mad Lab server felt like the difficulty was over the roof. Was the level of monsters in here that freakish that they could be killed with a single blast?

If they could log out, they would already have complained about this to the developers and spread it in the forums.

If this kept up, then who would even be left to clear this server?

Most of the guilds that made it into the mansion after their gruesome ordeal in the forest had met their end at the hands of two monsters. A dwarf and elven ghost.

These two were stationed at the mansion, and the players who managed to escape from their clutches warned the others to stay far away.

And thus, most guilds go underground to get to the Mad Lab and defeat the Doctor, bypa.s.sing the mansion to get to the mad scientist lab.

However, what they didn’t know was that there was a monster pair lurking underground, which was more ferocious than the monsters in the mansion.

At least when faced with the monsters in the mansion, they could still run for their life and live for the next server. But faced with these two monsters — a man that looked like a joker in cards and a woman whose head was replaced by a rabbit — they were almost instantly reduced to ashes without the chance of recovering.

Some of the remaining groups that wanted to push through the Mad Lab formed teams, wanting to dominate the monsters in the tunnel with their numbers until they reached the final room.

And among these groups was Lira and her group of diehard fans who were willing to die for her. She was a popular streamer who had millions of followers. Some even abandoned their group and s.h.i.+fted to Lira’s side upon seeing her.please visit ReadNovelFull.com

Though it was forbidden, and they still belonged to their previous group by name, a man’s heart was always swayed by beauties.

In the underground maze, there was a Torture Room that had a secret trap in its ceiling.

The trap door would open into an Abandoned Hut on the island, and some players who stumbled upon it would fall into the Torture Room. And it was the same trap that led Lira and her group into the underground tunnel.

The smell of decay and the acrid iron smell of blood filled Lira and the other’s nostrils as they stepped into the Torture Room.

On immediate inspection, they see body parts scattered across the floor. In the corner was a manacle monster chained to the walls. Next to the door was a ladder.

It seemed that the Doctor had been busy testing the limits of her creations.

“S-should we kill the monster?” a player asked.

“Let’s do it,” said Lira. “It’s still points, after all.”

“But what if we trigger some trap?”

Lira wanted to roll her eyes, but she had an image to uphold.

“I’ll do it then,” she said with a sweet smile and imploring eyes, which filled her followers with the vigor to please her.

“Lira, no! I’ll do it!”

“No! I’ll do it!”

While the others were arguing, someone went ahead and stabbed the monster in the heart.

[You have gained 50 Candy Points!]

Only fifty? Lira frowned, but her bright smile immediately went back to her face.

“Thank you,” she said to the player who stabbed the monster. She needed to give them rewards once in a while to keep them in line.

The player almost went on his knees from her sweet smile and it was worth it even if he died.

“Let’s quickly move on to the next room before some monsters come running in here.”

Everyone then moved and navigated the tunnel with Lira’s command.

The tunnel was like a maze. It was almost a kilometer long and had rooms here and there. An average player would take an hour or more to make it from one side to the other.

Not to mention that it was dim.

Players with dark vision, like elves and beastmen, or with similar spell/magic items could still see, but normal players had to stumble in total darkness unless they had a torch or a similar item.
