Fiendish Devil Cave, layer forty.

Standing on the hilltop, Li Luo gazed into the mountains in the distance. There were five terrifying beams of energy that shot high up into the sky in that direction. A fearsome pressure surrounded the place, and deafening roars vibrated the air.

That was the Fiendish Devil Leader of layer forty. 

Initially, there were six of them. Li Luo had already led the Green Nether Banner to fight against them once. However, they were caught off guard then and had to pay a huge price for it. 

They were ambushed by the six Fiendish Devil Leaders.

It seemed like the Fiendish Devil Leaders were more intelligent from layer forty onwards. Previously, they would have just waited at an area for their challengers to arrive. However, now they had taken the initiative to launch a preemptive strike. 

The ambush had caught Li Luo off guard.

The Green Nether Banner had suffered a huge setback as a result, with thousands of members knocked out of battle. Thankfully, Li Luo put up a tough fight and managed to slay one of the Fiendish Devil Leaders.

"Layer forty is the critical point here. It will definitely be challenging. Deng Fengxian was stuck at this stage for a few days too. He managed to clear it after they weakened and cut down the Fiendish Devil Leaders one by one," said Li Luo with a nod.

"We must clear this layer today!" Li Luo shouted with determination. The birthday celebration of the Mountain Ruling Chief of the Dragon's Blood Lineage was coming in a few days. As a grand matter in the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Li, they would all be invited, along with other guests from the Heavenly Origin Divine Continent.

The five Fiendish Devil Leaders sensed this energy immediately and let out thunderous roars. Their murderous gaze locked onto Li Luo and his Banner. As they opened their large mouths, five beams of energy blasted out, tore through the void, and flew directly towards Li Luo.

This time, Li Luo was very familiar with Harmony. When he sensed the endless waves of energy, he stretched out his five fingers.

Glowing energy gathered around his fingertips, and a moment later, it turned into five knife wheels that were thousands of feet wide.

The knife wheels spun at a very high speed. In the blink of an eye, they shot out with a sonic boom and clashed directly with the five incoming energy blasts.

Ear-piercing shrieks resounded in the air. The wild collision of energy shook the surrounding mountains, and the resulting destructive power was astonis.h.i.+ng.

In the end, the attacks from both sides were exhausted and dissipated into tiny, glittering motes of light, as though a gorgeous rain had just descended.

However, this splendor hid the murderous intent that lay within.

Seeing this, the five eight-armed Fiendish Devil Leaders charged forward like primal beasts. Their bodies had a golden, metallic l.u.s.ter, making them look indestructible, and a terrifying storm of energy radiated off their bodies.

They had a clear division of labor in place. Three of them rushed towards Li Luo, who was afloat in the air, while the other two went for the banner members, who were engrossed in the state of Harmony. They seemed to understand that the banner members were the source of Li Luo's strength.

"Cunning," Li Luo said with an indifferent face as he maintained his composure. He quickly formed seals with both of his hands, and in the next instant, a huge dragon manifestation emerged from the ocean of energy. The dragon manifestation opened its maw widely, and thunder seemed to be brewing within it.

"Nine Revolutions Art, Heavenly Dragon Lightning Breath!" Li Luo exclaimed. Like a silver waterfall filled with the power of destruction, the lightning dragonbreath descended from the sky and rushed towards the three Fiendish Devil Leaders who were charging towards him.

They sensed the danger from it immediately. They stopped right in their tracks, and with the hand seals formed from their eight arms, they gathered glowing energy into their eight palms that condensed into three b.a.l.l.s of light that spanned over ten thousand feet.

The three b.a.l.l.s of light illuminated the place as if three suns had materialized.

Bang!

The b.a.l.l.s of light that contained the full power of each Fiendish Devil Leader shot through the air and clashed with the lightning dragonbreath.

Boom!

An indescribable hurricane of energy swept across the sky. It was so great that s.p.a.ce distorted and the void showed signs of collapse.

The strength of the three quasi-Duke Stage Fiendish Devil Leaders was extraordinary indeed. However, it was not enough to faze Li Luo, who had full control of the Green Nether Banner's Harmony now. After all, his current strength was comparable to that of a real first-grade Duke. 

BOOM!

The lightning dragonbreath got past the clash and headed straight for the three Fiendish Devil Leaders. With a pathetic cry, their huge bodies were sent flying away embarra.s.singly, and they smashed into the top of the mountain, turning it into crumbling pieces.

Half of their eight arms melted after the direct hit by the lightning dragonbreath.

However, another crisis was brewing while Li Luo fought off the three Fiendish Devil Leaders. The other two Fiendish Devil Leaders had broken through the layers of barriers and charged right into the area where the eight thousand Green Nether banner members were situated.

Like wolves entering a herd of sheep, the two Fiendish Devil Leaders began their wanton slaughter.

Strangely, the eight thousand Banner members that were sitting in the lotus position started to vanish like mirages, and the Fiendish Devil Leaders' attacks swept through them. 

They were dumbfounded.

"Idiots, it's just an illusion." Li Luo laughed out loud in the sky. Using his water resonant power, he had hidden the real location of the Green Nether Banner members beforehand. What the two Fiendish Devil Leaders had attacked was just an illusion.

Under his incessant a.s.sault, they gradually weakened. Finally, Li Luo activated Heavenly Dragon Lightning Breath and Underworld River's Black Dragon Banner once again, finis.h.i.+ng the three Fiendish Devil Leaders off completely. 

The surrounding mountains were left in a smoldering mess from the aftermath of his devastating arts. 

When Li Luo landed from the sky with a pale face, cheers of celebrations erupted from the banner members in the forest at the back.

Finally, the Green Nether Banner had become one of the Banners that had managed to clear layer forty!

Hearing their cheers, a smile also surfaced on Li Luo's face. After clearing layer forty, he would finally get the opportunity to study the Duke Arts of the Dragon's Fang Lineage.
