Chapter 1660 Why Are You Here?
The entire Gnome World was in chaos, the Emperor ordered a search for the person or people who caused the attack, unknown to them, the four people who they regarded as heroes for saving the Seventh Prince were the ones who caused the event. There's no way they would think that the four people who were dead would be the cause of this devastating attack. Grey's plan was so well thought out that it was basically impossible for anyone else to trace it back to them. His ability to control people was the biggest reason he could achieve this without any fears. ….
Aurora Continent. Martha and Cori returned, and seeing Grey, she clicked her tongue, slightly taken aback by his current strength. As much as they all saw Grey as a once in a billion talent, he was still advancing faster than anyone suspected, one has to know that it is harder to grow in the later stages, but Grey is still somewhat advancing like he was still in the Overlord Plane, which was astonis.h.i.+ng.
With both parents present, he told them of his plan to leave Eisendrache with Cori, since the duo were child prodigies, it wouldn't hurt if they stayed together and trained together. Martha and Lucas didn't have any issues with Grey leaving Eisendrache with Cori. Cori was thrilled to receive a companion, especially from Grey. She was first acquainted with Grey before she knew the rest of the family, so to a certain extent, she placed Grey above the others which was within expectations. Lucas and Martha didn't have any issues with Cori having a Dragon, Eisendrache on the other hand was excited to be finally out of the spatial storage. Now he could finally focus on cultivation. He took the core of Sirevius, so he is bound to grow by leaps and bounds within the next few months. Cori was also charging through the Planes with blithering speed. After getting help from the Lyttelton Family with the help of Martha, she has broken through to the next Plane which she shouldn't have been able to without exploding from excess essence, now however, she is perfectly fine even with the increase in her strength.
Grey was satisfied with the result of Cori's training with his grandparents in the Lyttelton Family. …..
Grey was with his mother and father while Cori was out playing with Eisendrache. "Mom, do you think there will be anything beneficial to me from you know… your…"
"You're not laying a foot there without my supervision." Martha already knew where Grey was headed with his words and stopped him mid sentence, she didn't like going back to the Lyttelton Manor, and if not for Cori needing the help, she would never have gone there in the first place. "Alright, dad, you're okay with me and mom leaving yeah?" Grey didn't mind the misunderstandings between his mother and her parents, but at the moment, all that mattered to him was getting stronger, nothing else. From what he found out about the Lyttelton Family during his spare time, he has come to understand that they are one of the oldest Families in the Aurora Continent, and they were also great in the art of arrays as well as a few other things. Grey has been a genius when it comes to arrays, and he didn't mind learning more methods to better use arrays. Martha looked at Lucas, slightly shaking her head, she didn't want Grey to spend time with her father. She knew how he's like, especially with geniuses. He overtrains them and would rarely leave any room for errors, each person being trained has to be nearly perfect to even survive his method of training. Lucas looked at her and gave a wry smile, he chuckled awkwardly and said, "Think about our son, dear." "He needs all the help he can get right now, your father might not be the best person, but even you have said it, there's no better teacher than he is, why not let him train with his grandfather for a while?" Lucas knew Grey wanted to go there not to irk his mother, but because he needed to grow stronger, and this was one of the ways to grow stronger at a faster rate. He's heard of Grey's prowess with arrays, so he wasn't against the idea, in truth, he was quite proud Grey could think of something like this for himself. Had Grey not suggested it, he would've done it in his place. Martha sighed when she heard this, she knew just how hard it would be now that both boys had agreed to it, of course if she didn't want to, she wouldn't go, but thinking about how it would be beneficial to Grey, she could only push her grudge aside.
"Father is good with arrays, he'll teach that to you. The other things, I don't think they're of any use to you." Martha was defeated, she could only accept it. Grey was elated on hearing this, a chance to learn from an expert. Over the past few years, he has been self learning in most of the part, and had barely had someone train him. The last time he had help with his training, it was with his father, after returning from the Chaos Battlefield and acquiring chaos energy. He has blended it into his normal essence that he barely sees the difference, only when he's fighting with others does he slightly notice the overbearing nature of his essence compared to others.
Grey said his farewell to Cori and Eisendrache, there was no point in him staying there any longer as he opted to leave immediately. Lucas was okay with this, while Martha was a little frustrated that the family didn't get to spend time together before they separated again. The only thing she took out of this is the fact that she would have to spend all the time with Grey. The last time they stayed together, Grey was depressed due to not having an affinity with any element, and then later became excited when he found out about how amazing his future might potentially be. Looking at her son now, she couldn't help but feel proud. Some people would become lazy after finding out they would have such abilities, but not Grey, he worked twice as hard as a normal genius even when things would've been somewhat easier for him. Martha believed this was the mark of a true genius, even when everything was in his favor, he didn't backslide, rather, he pushed harder.
….
The trip to the Lyttelton Manor was an uneventful one, with a powerhouse such a Martha by his side, Grey had no issues with his journey, he didn't remember the last time he was this carefree while traveling across the Continent, at least, there would've been one issue, but in this case, there was none.
Lyttelton Manor. The Family Hall.
Grey and his mother were sitting opposite his grandparents. This was the first time he was getting a good look at his grandparents from his mother's side. His grandmother on his father's side was dead, leaving only his grandfather, but on this side of the family, both grandparents were still alive and kicking. "Who would've thought the famous Grey Dawson is my grandson?" Grey's grandfather laughed. Grey bowed to greet his grandparents. "You're in the Fifth stage of the Sovereign Plane already?" There was a hint of shock in Grey's grandmother's voice when she asked, her eyes glued to Grey. She is someone in the Sixth stage of the Sovereign Plane, even her daughter is superior to her, but she didn't have any issues with that since she's a genius to begin with. "I was fortunate." Grey replied humbly. He could sense that his grandmother was only in the Sixth stage of the Sovereign Plane, and from what he could deduce, she's at least two hundred years old.
'Do they really grow this slow?' This was the only question in his head. His grandparents on the other hand had a different question in their heads. 'Since when did the Sovereign Plane become this easy to advance?' They couldn't believe the speed at which Grey was growing. During the expedition to the G.o.d's tomb, Grey's grandparents got a view of him and knew that he was only in the First stage of the Sovereign Plane, it has only been a couple of months and he's already in the Fifth stage, on the verge of entering the Sixth stage. "Fortune is a part of one's talent sometimes." Grey's grandfather said softly. Grey chuckled but didn't speak any further, he kept his eyes on them. "Martha, I'm guessing you came because you want something?" Grey's grandfather turned his attention to his daughter. Martha nodded and said, "He needs your help with something." She was still sounding in the same grumpy manner. "My grandson can ask anything of me, and I, his grandfather will do it, he doesn't need you to speak for him." Grey's grandfather was slow in his speech, his eyes turned slightly cold as he continued, "Why are you here?"
Grey's grandmother looked at the duo and felt a headache coming, both father and daughter were stubborn, none of them was willing to give in to the other.
