Chapter 123: Question

---Noah POV---

Hearing what he said, I finally realized what happened. I know that I am getting stronger over time, much stronger than a normal person would be if they just trained. What many took years or decades to achieve, I managed to achieve in just two or three weeks, so at one point, I may have lost some of my common sense, but at that point I was practically unbeatable for certain people with Rank D Blessings.

Even though it's someone like Merc who probably should be at the top of Rank D while I wasn't even officially cla.s.sified as Rank D on the GBC app, because of the versatility of my skills, and Lilith's help, I got to a level that if I wanted, I could just run away from any situation and beat my opponent in wear and tear. Not to mention the countless possibilities that I had of skills that I still haven't received because I haven't yet leveled up.

'Perhaps this city is becoming too small for me?' I thought while thinking about everything that I still needed to achieve.

My wings were not yet developed, my [h.e.l.l Tunneling] was still level 02, my [h.e.l.l Flames] was still level 03, I myself was still level 3, and I had only made a few contracts. I'm basically at the beginning of my journey and I'm already getting a lot stronger than my opponents in this city.

I always thought of the city Eyrin as a giant city because of the millions of inhabitants who lived here, with powerful Blessed Rank C who ranked among the most powerful Blessed on the planet, but when I realized that I was practically reaching these people's level, I realized that I needed to evolve, not through leveling up, but by going to a better city.

If I were to put it in terms of an RPG, it was like I had powerful armor, a high level, various abilities, but I was still killing the goblins from the initial villages. The location I was in limited me by a lot.

'After Maggy gets better, we will go to a better place and achieve more than it is possible to do here,' I thought with conviction.

It was surprising to see the rich young people finally screaming after a battle. It had been a little strange to see them just watching the battles in silence. They didn't even clap their hands at the end of the matches, which made the atmosphere a little disconcerting, but seeing them screaming now like a real audience at least made the mood a little better. Not that the current climate was in any way comfortable, it had just gotten a little less embarra.s.sing than it was before.

Noah wasn't there to please anyone. Even though he might have been doing it, he ended up just leaving the stage without saying anything and went back to the waiting room to watch the last match and find out who his final opponent would be, although he already had an idea of ??who it would be after he had watched all the matches and realized that there was a person who was holding on decently while fighting.

The person Noah has his eye on was a black man with eyes that s.h.i.+ned with a yellow sheen. Despite looking so domineering, the man in question so far had not shown anything spectacular, unlike what Noah had done. But even though the man was not very different from the other people in terms of how much strength he showed in his battles, something inside Noah told him that that man was more dangerous, and it was as if his flames were hungry; they were begging Noah to consume that man.

This had never happened to Noah before. He didn't know that this was possible, or that his flames, in fact, had some kind of instincts as what they were demonstrating now.

That man, who always seemed to defeated his enemies using light to make them blind and then knocking them out, would probably win the tournament if things continued this way, but Noah was feeling that there was something very wrong with him. The man's strength was greater than the strength of a common Blessed person, even if the man was not using any Blessing to strengthen his body. Apparently, Noah was the only one to notice this, since he hadn't heard anyone commenting on this thing before.

'Probably if I were not here, all the attention that is being acc.u.mulated on me because of my unusual matches, would instead be concentrated on this man. After all, his fights can even be considered more unusual than mine, despite being less flashy. Unfortunately being discreet does not attract attention, which is good for him and something I wish I had done, but I couldn't...' Noah thought a little indignantly when observing this man.

What he wanted to do was finish the tournament without showing anything unusual and just be considered as an ordinary compet.i.tor, but as he had to fight powerful Blessed Ones, he couldn't win it just by showing the normal flame that he had, and revealing a Blessing that appeared to be spatial like [h.e.l.l Tunneling] was even more striking. 'I'll have to be careful with him…' Noah thought as he watched the man end the game just as he had done all of his others.

As only the two of them remained, and the man was not at all tired from the battle he just had, Noah got up and started walking towards the stage. And just as he imagined, the judge called him to the stage so they could start the fight between the two of them.

When Noah entered the arena, he took a better look at the man, who coincidentally was also doing the same to him, using those s.h.i.+ny golden eyes to try to understand Noah and think about what he could do to deal with him. Noah was doing the same; he knew that the man's ability to make someone blind would probably not work on him. After all, Noah had a Pyakugan; even if he closed his eyes or lost his sight, he would still be able to see around himself because of the spatial perception that he had.

But since the man was so powerful and was probably controlling himself not to exert too much force in this battle, Noah was prepared for the man to have other cards up his sleeve, other powerful and hidden abilities to try to deal with Noah, especially since he had so much information about Noah because of Noah's previous departures, while Noah had practically no information from the man other than that he probably had a Blessing related to light, and that he had a skill that could blind the person, but so far, the man had shown any attack skills, and Noah was sure the man had at least one skill of that nature.

Noah was trying his hardest to control himself and keep an expressionless face, so the man wouldn't know that Noah had found out so much about him just by guessing, and take away what little advantage that Noah had going for him in this battle.

This was exactly why Noah had practiced the use of body language so much. He could tell that the man was clearly demonstrating that he believed that Noah knew nothing about him, because of the slightly puffed chest showing a little arrogance, probably because he felt superior, that at least showed that he didn't know that Noah knew about him, or that he just didn't care about it. But the next thing the man did, in fact, left Noah a little doubtful. The man's proud att.i.tude was suddenly replaced by a very different kind of att.i.tude.

'Why is he acting like that? It's like he is feeling doubt and admiration for something in me, but I doubt that this is based on my skills, given the pride he was showing earlier. Maybe he was really feeling superior about something, but something about me caused him to change? But what could have done that? I didn't change my att.i.tude at all..." Noah began to formulate several possibilities in his mind, trying to understand what that man had seen that had made him change his att.i.tude so completely toward him.

But all of his thought was completely unnecessary, since the man at the time replied to exactly what Noah was pondering, in the form of a question. With a slightly doubtful expression and apparently a little… shyness? the apparently 28-year-old man asked Noah something he definitely didn't think anyone would ever ask him.

"Are you Lucifer?"
