"Miss Shen, you have an appointment in half an hour."

In some high-cla.s.s spa, a woman in her thirties was relaxing. Slow tranquilizing music played gently in the background. The frown formed on her face revealed her irritation at being interrupted. "Show me the schedule."

The little a.s.sistant wearing a pair of spectacles hurriedly retrieved a doc.u.ment and handed it over to her Boss.

After reviewing the names, Manager Shen unceremoniously tossed away the doc.u.ments.

"Mam?"

"There is no important name on the list."

"But Ms. Chen must already be waiting."

"So what?" Shen Yue scoffed. "Let her wait. These young artists like her always have their heads up in the sky. They think they are the ones who are destined to conquer the industry. If from the first day we treat her like a princess, how would she learn her worth?"

"Mam..." The a.s.sistant adjusted her spectacles in reluctance, not quite agreeing with Shen Yue but also not daring to say anything in opposition.

That was not how the company taught them to treat young artiste.

And her miss never treated anyone like utter garbage if they were not from some extremely poor background. And this Chen Yi...

"Also," laughed Shen Yue noticing her a.s.sistant's reluctance, "The only reason I am signing her in is because of Chen Ying said she wanted to give her a chance. I ran a little background search on her and turns out that she doesn't really share a harmonious relations.h.i.+p with our Chen Ying." Shen Yue's face turned ugly. "Shameless vixen wants to break apart our CEO and Chen Ying and take the position of Ms. Fu."

"What?" The little a.s.sistant was shocked. She had not expected this. "How could she even think about that? Mr. Fu and Ms. Chen are a perfect loving couple, a match made in heavens! Just how shameless and delusional someone can be to actually have some ambitions."

"Well, in the past, she had succeeded in forcing her grandfather to arrange an engagement between herself and CEO Fu. That's from where her delusions must have sp.a.w.ned. But heavens punished her for her actions. Eventually, she was discarded by Mr. Fu once he discovered her nature. I have heard she had gone as far as plotting to kill Mr. Fu's younger sister in spite." Shen Yue slurred. "And since Chen Ying treats us so well and this b.i.t.c.h has such arrogance to antagonize our Chen Ying, shouldn't we fulfill our duty to show her her place?"

"Yes, Mam." The little a.s.sistant finally understood what her Madam meant and nodded in concurrence. If this was the case, then this artiste deserved to be treated like garbage.

It had been an hour past the appointed time when a car slowly pulled at the entrance of the restaurant. Shen Yue had long ago switched off her phone in case Chen Yi tried to call her. 

Leisurely placing her feet out, Shen Yue stepped out. Her a.s.sistant soon followed out to stand beside her with reverence. "Miss Shen, what if she went back home after waiting for so long?"

"We have only been an hour late. Besides, having an invitation from Fu Entertainments fresh out of University without any past experience is a G.o.d-sent opportunity. She would not be such ignorant to leave." With her nose high in vanity, Shen Yue strode to the restaurant.

She was expecting to see an aggrieved, tortured face when she stepped into the restaurant. However, when the got to the reserved table, they found it unoccupied. Both Shen Yue and her a.s.sistant were shocked.

"Could she have gone back home?" Said the a.s.sistant worriedly looking at Shen Yue.

"That is not possible." Shen Yue retrieved her phone and switched it no. She was given another surprise when there was not any message or missed call from Chen Yi side. "What is the meaning behind this?"

"Mam, then shouldn't we just leave? It is that woman's loss for spitting at such an attractive offer. We can report to the management that she never appeared."

"We can't do that." Shen Yue pressed her temple and sighed in pain. Opening her eyes, she quickly dialed up to Chen Yi.

To her extreme anger, the phone was not picked up at the first call. Nor at second. At the point where Shen Yue could feel herself at the brink of bursting because of anger, the phone was finally picked up.

"You...!" Shen Yue controlled her emotions to make herself sound professional. "Ms. Chen, what is the meaning behind this? You are late. If you continue to show such behavior, how are we supposed to work in the future?" In the tone of the superior, she reprimanded.

The line stayed silent for a short while. Shen Yue frowned. "h.e.l.lo...?"

"I apologize. I have been stuck in traffic." There was not any detailed or panicked explanation from Chen Yi's side to excuse her delay. Her tone was even more composed and professional than Shen Yue.

That was not what Shen Yue wanted to hear. Gnas.h.i.+ng her teeth, she seethed. "When would you manage to arrive?"

"Hmm... The traffic is seriously jammed. If things don't worsen, it will take me fifteen minutes." Said Chen Yi taking a big bite of an iced donut.

"Alright. Ms. Chen, this is the first time so I will overlook your negligence. But in the future, make certain to be more attentive." Huffing, Shen Yue hung up.

Chen Yi laughed, switching off her phone tossing it away, she rolled her eyes. "Sure."

She heard a chocked cough from the front seat. She frowned. "What's wrong Mr. Zheng?"

"Eh... Nothing." Zheng Yufang nervously dabbed his forehead with a tissue. In front of him, the silence of wide, empty streets screamed loudly. A random crow cawed, its cry echoing in several miles of diameter in the utter silence and emptiness. And Miss Chen said she was stuck in traffic? "Miss, when are we going to leave?" He asked after glancing through the rearview mirror at the woman who happily sat among a crowd of desserts and pastries. 

Chen Yi placed a finger under her chin. "The business with that agent won't be taking long. Let me see, maybe two hours later.." Chen Yi smirked after stuffing another pastry into her mouth.
