Chen Yi guided Gu Chiantao out of there to her car. Closing the door, she looked in her direction. Her expressions covered into a frown as she patiently waited for her to recover from everything.

After a short pause of silence, Gu Chintao said quietly. "Thank you."

Chen Yi was surprised to discern such vulnerability in her tone. From what she knew about this Gu Chinatao, she was a little arrogant young missy of a rich family. And her arrogance was well deserved. Being an internationally famed stylist at such a young age did justice to her prideful personality.

If there was any weak point in her personality, then it was that Jiang Li.

However, the emptiness Chen Yi had seen in Gu Chiantao's eyes today made Chen Yi had a feeling that Gu Chinatao was finally giving on him. To be confirmed, she said. "What's the point bothering with him? When you really well that he is not worth it." She pretended to say those words nonchalantly with a shrug. As if she really made an unintentional comment.

"Oh, is that the case," Chen Yi beamed then looked out from the gla.s.s. "By the way. you do not need to thank me. Let's just say that I have a low tolerance for cheating men. So I did it to relieve the grievances in my heart." She said as a matter of fact.

Gu Chiantao smiled. She did not know this 'new' Chen Yi well, but she had a feeling she would like her very much if they get to know each other more.

"So what were you doing here outside my University?" Chen Yi asked out of curiosity, contemplating it was too coincidental to have met Gu Chinatao outside her university.

"Actually I came to see you." Gu Chiantao took out a file from her bag. "I have already talked about you with my big brother. I want you to sign a contract with Diamond Entertainment."

Chen Yi was surprised. She accepted the contract in her hands, casually flipping through the pages. After a whole five minutes, she finally put back the doc.u.ments. "I wonder why? Diamond Entertainment is a big tier agency. I don't think they readily accept newbies without a past record."

Gu Chinatao smiled as is expecting such a question from a person as cautious as Chen Yi. "Remember when I handed over those videos to you? I wanted you to ruin Chen Ying."

"Yes, what about that?"

Gu Chiantao sighed. "At that time, I was a coward. I did not want to fight Chen Ying on my own because I was scared of maddening Jiang Li. That's why I resorted to using you. However, since I no longer care about that b.a.s.t.a.r.d, I won't hesitate to anything. Chen Yi, both of our motives are similar. I won't hide and support you fully to get back at that cheater and wh*re."

"So is that all because our motives align that you choose to recruit me?"

"There is more to it," Gu Chiantao laughed as is she recalled a particularly pleasing memory. "I saw what you did. This morning, I saw Chen Ying's mother's embarra.s.sing videos on the brief headlines. Afterward, I observed how she had tried all her means. But the thing had gone viral on social media platforms. In ages, many of her compet.i.tors had tried countless means. But none of them had ever been able to harm her significantly. But in your one move, you had her faced with a major setback."

There were obvious traces of praise, amazement, and wors.h.i.+p in Gu Chiantao words.

However, now with the involvement of Gu Chinatao and Jiang Li, considering a certain probability, Chen Yi's eyebrows furrowed in trepidation. "Using Jiang Li's help, she should be able to get rid of those clips, wouldn't she?" 

Chen Yi was not worried that Chen Ying would clear her name. She was worried about what if Jiang Li gets a wisp of Li Luxian involvement? What if they get someone to dig this out and find out their relations.h.i.+p? 

In the end, she was concerned about Li Luxian reputation.

That man had so many favors on her. She would never want to cause any trouble for him. 

Besides, if this thing gets out, Chen Yi would also not be spared of trouble. And let's not talk about the consequences if 'those' people learned that she had married someone behind their back blatantly disregarding their choice for her. The outcomes would be unimaginable. 

"Likely so," Gu Chinatao shrugged. Then in a cold tone, she said. "Even if she doesn't ask for his help, he would step forward to extend his aid."

Chen Yi took a note in her mind to ask Li Luxian to keep things discreet. And possibly pull back his influence so that Jiang Li would never get to him.

"So," Gu Chiantao's voice broke Chen Yi out of her contemplation, "Are you signing or what?" She said in a pretty confident tone as if Chen Yi would not dare to give up on such a golden opportunity.

But, Chen Yi's response totally left Gu Chiantao speechless. 

"As much as I'm grateful for your consideration, Diamond Entertainment is not my destination." She declined as politely as she could.
