Chapter 88 - Her Past

After successfully talking Fu Jianguo into talking action against Chen Yi, while maintaining her appearance of an untainted, kind-hearted woman, Chen Ying was very delighted. 

However, she had no idea that a piece of terrifying news awaited her.

When she randomly surfed through the TV channels, she came across a video that had her gasp in shock. Picking up the phone, she immediately dialed up to her mother. 

"Mom, what the f**k is this?" In an appalled tone, she demanded an answer.

"Ying'er... Please clam down. Listen to Mom, okay? This is all that Chen Yi fault. She had plotted against me." Ye Zhouyan coaxed her. Afterward, she narrated the whole incident to Chen Ying, making sure to have herself sound as positive as she could all along and make it appear that it had been Chen Yi who had come up well prepared to create a scandal.

After listening to everything and realizing how her mother had lost her hands on the family manor, Chen Yig pinched the bridge of her nose and groaned in frustration.

"Mom, you do know that Fu Jianguo family is against me? After this, they will get a valid excuse against me. Not only that, but you also appeared to be so vulgar in the videotape... No matter what I say to Fu Jianguo to vindicate you...it will not work!"

Ye Zhouyan felt fresh hotness of shame emerge from the depth of her core. The video had been shameful. She had no idea how she was going to face her friends again. And Chen Ying words bared her wound once again. Blinking back the tears that gathered in her eyes, she cajoled. "Yng'er, my dear daughter, I had been plotted against by that vixen. Do you think I will ever do something to make things difficult for you?"

"Just...forget it. Just tell me why did you not inform me earlier?"

"I wanted to..Infact, I was about to call you but just then, your father called me and warned me sternly not to whisper a word about this!", complained Ye Zhouyan.

Ye Zhouyan had wanted to borrow Fu Jianguo's influence to suppress the matter. But Chen Yazhu had wanted to save the humiliation by bringing this to Fu Jiangguou. Thus, he tried all his means to somehow suppress the news on his own. However, despite spending his all, he had been unable to reach the minuscule effect. That was the reason the news get delayed to get to Chen Ying ears. 

"Just..." Chen Ying took a deep breath. "...Mom, I will try my best to do something. Please do anything stupid behind me, okay?" After hanging up, Chen Ying was so frustrated that she ended up smas.h.i.+ng her phone down.

When she closed her eyes, Chen Yi's hateful face emerged in her vision laughing at her state. Her taunting voice resonated in the corridors of her mind, sending her into another fit of violent outburst.

'This Chen Yi is getting out of control as time pa.s.ses. That video has already put me under threat and now, she even managed to claim back the manor? No, I need to to do something of her and quick!'

Unaware of the aftereffects of the lethal move on her Uncle's family by her husband, Chen Yi was faced with a problem of her own. A problem she would regard much more difficult than dealing with Chen Ying and her schemes.

After getting out of the bathroom, she found Li Luxian standing in the lounge, properly dressed once again looking regal and dignified. Currently, he was engrossed deeply in his phone. A small frown formed on his forehead giving him an overall serious appearance. No matter what expression he wore, in the end, it turned out to be looking magnetizing on his face.

Chen Yi was offended.

'Here, I am all fl.u.s.tered and embarra.s.sed how to face him after what happened and he is already engaged with something else? Mr. Li, do you play me for a fool?' Chen Yi walked forwards; her initial timidness disappeared. 

Coughing slightly, she made her presence obvious.

Li Luxian eyed lifted up and locked with hers. Not finding her shying away from his gaze, his lips broke into a slow smirk. His eyes regained their spark. "Hurry up, after dropping you off to your University I have some important business to attend."

Chen Yi blinked as if she could not understand what he meant. "Wh-what do you mean?"

Chen Yi explained when Li Luxian eyes revealed a glint that read he did not understand. "Aren't you going to have your people arrange a separate residence for me?"

"I did say I would consider that option."

"Then?"

"But I didn't say I would readily agree to that."

Chen Yi felt like hitting someone. After all that this pervert made her go through, this was what he had to say? She had expected that this would happen, knowing the nature of Li Luxian. He would fall to any level to keep her with him. But there was no way to have him agree otherwise! Thus she had gone with his wish. And now, she was not going to sit quietly. 

But before Chen Yi could open her mouth to argue, Li Luxian crossed the distance between them. Gazing intently into her eyes, he whispered her name softly. "Yi'er..." A hint of hesitation appeared in his eyes as if he was not sure that it was the right time to bring this up. But in the end, he looked into her eyes and resolved to as her today. "The reason you want to have a separate residence from me... Is it really because of your paternal family or...something else?" He finally asked, while all the time looking deeply into her eyes so that any subtle emotion won't slip his eyes. 

After hearing his words, Chen Yi forgot what she was about to say. Her eyes widened in response.

'Why would he ask that out of sudden? Had he already discovered something about her...past?'
