To give up on that Manor was already a difficult feat for Ye Zhouyan. 

She was already tortured enough. Since Chen Yi had succeeded in hurting her this badly, Chen Yi should stop now, shouldn't she? That was only fair in Ye Zhouyan's eyes.

The driver on the front seat happened to accidentally have taken a glance at those beautiful yet frightening eyes through the rearview mirror. He shuddered and almost lost control of the car.

Unaffected from her threat, Chen Yi's carelessly placed her elbow on the armrest of her seat. "What is Aunt planning to do? I'm actually excited to see what you have up your sleeves."

"Back at that time when you tried to target Young Master Fu's sister because of your pettiness, it was because of your Uncle's intervention that Young Master Fu didn't report the incident to authorities. You-do you think after what you have done, we would still try to hold back Young Master Fu? After he listens to what you did, I am certain he would file a lawsuit against you. Hearing her words, Chen Yi laughed: "Aunt, I am more than certain once Fu Jianguo brings up this matter, you would be the first one to interfere and stop him from reporting this to authorities."

"I would not!"

"Then..." Chen Yi said: "Are you willing to take the risk of getting authorities involved? What if...they find out the real culprit behind that incident?"

Hearing her words, Ye Zhouyan's heart thumped loudly in fear. She quickly said: "What are you trying to hint at Chen Yi? Yang Mi had seen you. We have a witness. Why are you trying to s.h.i.+ft the blame of someone else?"

"Whether Yang Mi was lying or not, Aunt knows better than me. I would just say that if authorities get involved, are you certain that the real culprit could stay hidden?" Chen Yi's lips curled up.

Why had they not handed her over to the authorities? The answer was simple. As long as authorities got involved, there were chances of discovering out the truth. That could put Ye Zhouyan and Chen Ying in mortal danger.

Otherwise, why would those so-called relatives of her care for her?

In their eyes, Chen Yi was nothing more than a pest, a potential threat to the fortune they swindled from her parents. Chen Yi was well aware of this fact. 

If they did not fear being investigated, they would have long reported this incident to the authorities.

"You are trying to scare me off by using such threats. Chen Yi, let me tell you it won't work. Everything evidence points towards you."

"Then...Aunt, are you scared?" Saying those words, she cut off the call.

On the other side, Ye Zhouyan's face was red in anger. She threw away her phone. "d.a.m.n it! d.a.m.n it! That bi*ch!" She felt completely helpless.

Yes, she was scared...

Because what Chen Yi said was right. She could not risk involving the authorities. There was always the chance that Ye Zhouyan and Chen Ying would be exposed.
