Chen Yi looked back and recognized the person to whom that voice belonged.

It was Lin Min who had said those words to Chen Yi. She was also accompanied by Hao Jin who was looking at Chen Yi with disdain evident in her eyes. Both of them were the underlings of Chen Ying. They often used them to hara.s.s Chen Yi in high school.

Chen Yi's lips curled up into a pouty smile.

"Shouldn't I be asking the same question from you? Lin Min-the illegitimate daughter of the Lin family. I wonder whose money did you spend to come to such a luxurious restaurant" The implication in Chen Yi's words was irrefutable.

Chen Yi knew that Lin Min was dating some old aged sugar daddy. He let her use his money as she wished in exchange for bedding her.

"Is it your family money who is not even willing to recognize you...", Chen Yi's eyes looked wicked. She looked back on the menu in her hands. Her words were slow but loud enough. "Or your new sugar daddy perhaps?"

"Chen Yi!", Lin Min was astonished. She was taken aback when her perverted relations.h.i.+p was exposed in open. Her face blanched. There were a lot of rich socialites in that restaurant and Chen Yi's voice was deliberately high revealing Lin Min ident.i.ty of an illegitimate daughter as well as her unvirtuous actions to those ears who were already eager for gossips.

In the upper-cla.s.s circle of people who visited such privileged restaurants, almost everyone was aware of each other's ident.i.ty. So everyone knew about the ident.i.ty of Lin Min. A swish of whispers dominated the air as the audience fervently discussed that new piece of information of Lin Min sugar daddy. Lin Min was mortified.

Chen Yi had a faint smile on her lips.

"Oh, it's you Hao Jin!" Chen Yi faked immaculate sweetness and cheerfulness in her tone; her eyes held a roguish glint in them. Her voice held unparalleled charm as she didn't even spare Hao Jin from her venomous tongue. "Still having a nice time leeching off my b.i.t.c.h cousin?"

Using such casual language, Chen Yi was obviously not presenting a good example of an ideal woman who would practice proper etiquette like a n.o.ble lady and avoid the usage of bad words. And Chen Yi clearly didn't care about how her image was perceived by others.

She only cared for the fact that these people have tortured her through years and she had quietly endured for the sake of Fu Jianguo. To present a good image of her in front of him and her treacherous family. Now that she no longer had Fu Jianguo and her so-called family, she didn't need to fear anything. She was free to be herself.

"Chen Yi, you have gotten some guts. Haven't you? But don't forget who you are messing with." Lin Min snarled. "There is still a huge difference between you and me."

"Oh, and who I'm messing with exactly?" Chen Yi lightly said in a careless tone. Her voice held its typical charm and playfulness like she was dealing with a bunch of worthless people as she propped her face on her hand resting her elbow on the table. She carelessly looked at them.

That effortless and elegant gesture infuriated Lin Min. Was she taking them so casually?

"I'm the daughter of the Lin family and..."

"The illegitimate daughter" Chen Yi corrected her mischievously.

"Shut the f**k up!" Lin Min always used to get enraged at the mention of word 'illegitimate'. Being called the illegitimate daughter was her weak spot. She felt like she was going mad with anger. By now the outburst had attracted quite an audience. Everyone was focused on them. Lin Min realized that she must teach that b.i.t.c.h a lesson and shouldn't lose face as a lot of people were watching them now.

"At least I'm in is a better position than you. Not only were you disowned by your family but your fiance also discarded you like trash." Lin Min chuckled scornfully.

Mention of Fu Jiangou's betrayal did pull at some of the strings in her heart. After all, she had been naively in love with that b.a.s.t.a.r.d for the last five years.

But everything happened for the best. She was happy that she got rid of that egoistical person sooner. If she was to cluelessly get in marriage with that person, she would only be abused and taken advantage of for the rest of her life.

"Where are your smart words now?" Hua Jin joined with her friend. She also deeply despised that wench Chen Yi and wouldn't miss a chance to lash at her. "Don't you think we don't know about your financial status? You don't even have a job and you are disowned by your family. How can someone poor and dest.i.tute as you afford to even step in a place like this?" Hua Jin laughed. She remembered correctly how Chen Yi had just insulted her. She would get back at her. "It is clearly you who is leeching off some rich person by selling your body."

Chen Yi definitely didn't want to waste her time to explain to those idiots that she happened to get proposed by the heir of the Li corporation.

She simply didn't bother to give spare them a glance as she opened the menu. Taking the notice of her indifference and realizing that they wouldn't be able to elicit a response out of her, they both decided to let Chen Yi off. They walked to a table not far from the center; in a corner.

"I'm disappointed in the quality of the service in this restaurant" Lin Min felt very bad when she noticed how Chen Yi was sitting in the middle table. To reserve that table one required to be an ultra VIP.

"True. How can they let trash like her enter the restaurant at her will? It is clearly such a blemish on the restaurant good name. How can they lower their standards like this."

"I must inform this to my father. After all, he invested a lot in this restaurant."

"That would be great sister Lin!" She bitterly added. "Why don't you complain about it to the a.s.sistant manager right now? He is always eager to flatter your father. I'm sure he would listen to you and kick her out."

"Yes, that would be great. I'm sure he wouldn't deny my request." Lin Min said as pride and excitement manifested in her voice. She could almost imagine Chen Yi being kicked out humiliated when she sneered at her. "After all, my father is one of the investors in this restaurant."

Chen Yi who has been sitting leisurely without getting bothered by their drivel at all chuckled slightly antic.i.p.ating a great show ahead.
