When Chen Yi exited with Su Xiuying, she offered to drive her back to her home but Su Xiuying declined. There were already a lot of reporters hiding around her home. And if they saw her with Chen Yi, it would invite unnecessary trouble for Chen Yi.

Chen Yi nodded before bidding her farewell. 

When she came back to her drive, she walked past the driver and made it to the pa.s.senger seats. However, something felt amiss. She paused, backtracked her steps and stood before the straight, stiff driver.

Staring at her driver's face, she ohed. With a good heart, enquired. "When did you come back? How is your head? It doesn't hurt, does it?"

Zhang Yufang stood with a stoic face. Misery written all over his face. "It doesn't"

"I wanted to be light at hand but at that time you really scared me." Chen Yi attempted to explain, feeling that Zhang Yufang appeared to be harbouring resentment towards her.

"I understand."

"I mean I couldn't have guessed such a light hit would keep you out for a week."

Zhang Yufang. "..."

If she believed that her words were making him feel better, she was so very wrong. It was wounding him. It was wounding his poor little pride.

He wasn't out all that week.

He was embarra.s.sedly racking his brain over how to explain to his Boss that he was knocked unconscious by just a single strike from his wife. The best of his Boss's men, the top of the list, was knocked out by a single strike from a woman.

He was so depressed when he woke up that he lost all his will to live. 

His Boss even wanted to hire a new team to a.s.sure his wife's safety. What respect he had left? Even his elder brother, Zhang Xin was disappointed in him. 

But the complexity of all those matters Chen Yi could not understand. She just felt her words were not helping. She sighed before giving up and moving to take the seat.

Give it some time and he'll be fine.

"I've entered an address in the navigation system. Lead me there."

Zhang Yufang entered the car and pulled out the seatbelts. Stretching them over his bulky frame, he secured them with difficulty, like always. When he viewed the address on the screen, he was dumbfounded. 

Craning his neck back, he asked. "Mrs Li, this place... This is... Are you certain that's the address?"

"No questions. Just lead where I ask you." Of course, this was the location. She had meticulously, painstakingly and laboriously come up with this plan to get what she wanted. And this place was the pivotal point in her plan.

Chen Yi words shut him up and Zhang Yufang looked up. Who knew what he was thinking but a look of misery descended upon his face before came a look of resignation to one's fate. Sighing, he kicked start the engine and pulled out the car from the lot. 

The level noise of rubber tires rolling against asphalt filled the interior. Chen Yi was lost in thoughts when she observed a black Vigo giving them chase. There had been a couple of turns along the way but that car never parted away,

"Strange..." She muttered but it was too soon to confirm if this car was after them or not. As she thought so, at the next fork, the car parted from them and took a different road.

"We are here." Zhang Yufang announced in a monotonous tone.

Chen Yi perked up upon listening. Climbing out of the car, she shot a death stare at Zhang Yufang who was in the process of climbing out too.

"I understand. I will stay behind." He readily agreed before obediently shrinking back in his seat.

Chen Yi felt something was suspicious.

"It's good you do." Anyhow, she smiled and made her way away from the car. At some distance, she shot back a glance. Finding Zhang Yufang sitting back into the car, his finger tapping the steering wheel, she looked satisfied and leisurely made her way into the alleys and disappeared.

As soon as she vanished from the view, Zhang Yufang jumped out of the car and cursed loudly. "What does she want to do at a place like this? Should I inform Boss?" The idea disappeared as soon as it appeared. Somehow the hit he received the other day left a deeper impression than he would admit.

"This won't do. Boss would personally kill me if something happened." As if the humiliation inflicted upon him wasn't traumatizing enough, Boss wife had to come to a place like this, at a time like this, so deep in the night and that too, in his escort. She must really hate him.

Thinking up to that, he loaded his gun and with a look one would have before entering a battlefield, he made his way into those alleys.

But soon he learnt that was a mistake.

Because ten minutes later, forget finding Chen Yi, it would be a miracle if he made his way out of his labyrinth back to the car. The complicated turns were so confusing, he ended up coming right back from where he started. And that happened not once, not twice, not thrice... Forget it, he no longer recalled the number. 

The frequency with which Zhang Yufang cussed and pulled onto his hair had increased substantially. 

To put another nail in the coffin, the place didn't have signals.

In the end, Zhang Yufang was shedding blood tears.

While he was lost and helpless, at the other end, Chen Yi looked back after exiting the alleys network and laughed maliciously. "Good luck chasing me." Turning back her head, she came afront the sparkling gate that led into heaven and smiled vibrantly. "My delicious pastries, here I come!" With enthusiasm, she entered.

If Zhang Yufang, who had all sorts of possible reasons in his mind for Boss's wife mysterious visit to this suspicious place, came upon this scene, he would simply expire from disbelief.
