Chapter 138 - Tyrant

More than 50,000 people had been camping out in the rain for almost a week now. The beast attacks were getting more and more frequent while the food supplies were basically non-existent. People were getting more and more restless by the day and there had been many instances of theft as well. The situation was about to turn very bad.

The Miller family was on the outskirts of the encampment so they had managed to stay out of any trouble for the most part. unfortunately, nothing lasts forever.

Currently, there were about 20 men surrounding their carriage with different weapons in hand.

"Just give us the food and we will leave, we know you have more so don't bother lying to us. This can be as pleasant as you want to make it," a thin man with a small mustache said while standing behind the encirclement.

"We already gave you everything we had, what more do you want?!" Jacob shouted while trying to catch his breath. He had a long cut on his left arm and a wound on his forehead. Reece and Miles were standing next to him with pitchforks and shovels and had bruises all over their faces.

Sophia was still in the carriage, looking out warily while embracing Damian who was struggling to run out himself.

"Lies! We have been starving here for days while you people kept all this food to themselves. Can you even call yourselves humans?" shouted the thin man scornfully.

"We didn't even have this food until a few hours ago. A stranger gave it to us and left!" Reece yelled back angrily, making the group break out in laughter.

"Moron. Do you really expect us to believe that a random stranger gave you so much great food for no reason and then left without asking for anything in return? Who would believe such c.r.a.p," another man said, making the group howl in laughter once again.

"You can check the carriage, we really don't have anything. What do you want us to do?" Miles pointing at the carriage.

The thin man walked forward with small steps and looked at Sophia with a smirk, "Hmm, you're right. We should really "Check" the carriage carefully. The food could be anywhere," he nodded and waved his hand.

Jacob's eyes contracted as he almost vomited blood from the anger, "You f*cking animal! I'll kill every one of you before I let you touch a single hair on her head!"

"Fine with me. Kill them, I'll let whoever kills him have first turn with the woman," he pointed at Jacob.

Jacob, Miles, and Reece suddenly froze with horrified expressions on their faces as they looked behind the thin man.

"Hahaha, was that all the bravery you had?" the thin man laughed until he felt a gust of warm air behind him. He slowly turned around and backed up several steps, falling on his a*s.

"AHHHH" his scream made the other men turn around as well who all wore similar expressions.

In front of them stood a gigantic black tiger-like beast. It was about 7 feet in height and more than 50 feet in length. It was looking at them with an expression of ridicule.

"I'd very much like to see you try," a voice came from the beasts back. The beast lowered its head respectfully and a gigantic humanoid figure with a weapon taller than the beast itself came into view.

He had long black hair and was wearing a white hanfu. On his face was a horned mask, covering the top half.

"Well?" he asked while bending forward, "I don't have all day you know," he asked with a smile.

"I-I'm sorry my lord. It was just a joke, just a joke. You can ask Jacob, he will tell you that as well!" the thin man prostrated on the muddy ground while yelling.

Hao Xuan looked up at Jacob who also bowed respectfully, "This is my village leader senior, it was nothing serious. Just a....joke," he said slowly.

"But dad-"

"Quiet!"

Reece tried to speak up but was stopped by Jacob. The thin man was indeed the leader of the village they were staying at. If he truly blamed him then there wouldn't be any place left for him to return to. Now that Hao Xuan was here, he wouldn't pull something like that again so continuing this was useless. Jacob thought they wouldn't punish the leader too harshly anyway so what was the point of wounding a bear?

Hao Xuan looked at Jacob for a few seconds and then nodded.

"Alright, if that's what you want."

He patted Bai who started walking past them. The village leader had a huge smile on his face as he prostrated once again, "Thank you for your mercy senior!"

Bai suddenly froze. Hao Xuan looked back at him with an angry expression, "What the h.e.l.l did you call me?!"

The village leader was stupified and confused at the same time, "E-Eh? Se..senior??"

A burst of Qi erupted from Hao Xuan's body that made all 20 men fall down to their knees.

"Do I look that old? How dare you call me senior!"

"B-But just now Jaco-" he tried to argue back it was already too late.

Hao Xuan slashed down once with his glaive and every single man was decapitated. Their heads fell down to the ground with the same expression of disbelief they had before.

There was complete silence. A few others had also come to watch and were now completely terrified. The entire Miller family was shocked speechless. Sophia covered Damian's eyes with her hands while her own mouth was left wide open.

The headless bodies stood in place for a few seconds before falling to ground with a splash.

"Isn't this guy going a little overboard? I mean creating a distraction is one thing but killing civilians?" the taller hooded figure asked the other.

The other one shook his head, "At least he didn't eat them. Did you not see his Death Walk fight? Dude's got a few screws loose. Even at the Demon hunter academy there aren't that many people as ruthless as him."

"I'm barely twenty, how dare an old piece of sh*t call me senior," Hao Xuan said with an expression of disgust and then casually walked away on Bai, leaving the spectators astonished.

"And why the h.e.l.l are you people all camping here?" he shouted after looking around.

An elderly person walked forward with the help of a cane and bowed respectfully, "My lord, the gates have not been opened for a week now. No one has been allowed entry on City Lord's orders," he said feebly.

"What?! Who the f*ck is this city lord? Is he stronger than the Mei clan?! The government?! The order has already been pa.s.sed yet he dares to disobey?" Hao Xuan used Qi to shout as loudly as possible. His voice rang through every corner of the city and the encampment outside.

He then looked at the gate where some guards were standing dumbfoundedly.

"Open this G.o.d d.a.m.ned gate!" he shouted while still being several hundred meters away. The guards felt like their souls were going to get crushed from the immense pressure that Hao Xuan was releasing.

Bai jumped a couple of times and appeared right in front of the guards.

"Are you deaf or just stupid? Open this gate!" Hao Xuan's angry voice came down like a tsunami.

"M-My lord, please have mercy. We are only following orders!" they all fell down on one knee immediately.

"I don't give a s.h.i.+t. Open this door before I cut it down!"

"STOP!"

Just as the guards were about to open the gate, a loud voice came from inside and pressure emanating from Hao Xuan vanished like smoke in a storm.
