Chapter 271 - That made Aunty sighed about different fates between different people. (1)
That was not the same at all. Wu Xiuyue had no idea how much money Shu Yan had but it wasn’t difficult to figure out that she had no shortage of money being able to purchase the apartment that she did. Investing tens of thousands of yuan into opening up a shop was nothing to her at all. If she lost them all, she lost them all. The same could not be said for Wu Xiuyue. It was her entire savings that she was dumping into her shop. If she lost them all, she really lost them all.
And how many years had she been a stay-at-home housewife? She had been raising her children and taken care of the housework. She had no experiences with business whatsoever. She let it got to her head when she found out how much Shu Yan made. In hindsight, she regretted a lot about it.
There wasn’t much Shu Yan could do on that front. Wu Xiuyue would have to get over that herself.
“I have another favor to ask. The storefront was a boutique originally so I didn’t need a lot or remodeling. It should be done today but I have no idea where to go to get my merchandises from. Can you please show me the ropes?” The thought of that made Wu Xiuyue nervous all over again.
“That’s not a problem. You can just come with me next time.” Shu Yan agreed to take her with her right away.
It so happened that Shu Yan would be going this weekend so she had Wu Xiuyue went along. Shu Yan gave Wu Xiuyue a lot of pointers on their way to City Han.
“A trip to City Han costs 80 yuan. It’s two wasteful just the two of us. We should have four next time,” said Wu Xiuyue in a low voice.
“We may not be able to get four people every time. Sometimes I go alone when I can’t find anyone to go with. But you can ask around Fujian Street. It will definitely be a better deal if you can find others to go with.” 80 yuan was not a lot of money for Shu Yan. She can make it back just from filling up the empty seats with more merchandises. 80 yuan, on the other hand, was an astronomical amount to Wu Xiuyue.
When the two of them were about to get out of the car, the driver stopped Shu Yan suddenly and handed a bag over to her. “This is from Mr. Fang.”
“Mr. Fang? Which Mr. Fang?” asked Wu Xiuyue curiously.
Feng Zeyu had given Shu Yan a call this afternoon, telling her that he wouldn’t be able to go to City Han with her today. That befuddled Shu Yan. He has to work so naturally he was not available all the time. Besides, she didn’t need him to go with her to City Han either.
“A friend of mine.” She opened it up and saw some fruits, snacks, and even a box of chocolates inside. Shu Yan pulled the chocolates out, took a look at them and was somewhat surprised that Feng Zeyu would give her something like that.
“Wow! That imported chocolate. That’s not just any friend, is it?” Wu Xiuyue teased.
Shu Yan smiled and didn’t say anything.
As Shu Yan didn’t wish to elaborate, Wu Xiuyue stopped asking. She did, however, wondered who was this Fang person. She thought about it for a while but came up with nothing. She thought perhaps it was someone that Shu Yan had met in her business.
Feng Zeyu had never crossed Wu Xiuyue’s mind. After all, his reputation was poor around the university city. Even though Shu Yan was divorced with two children but she was pretty now and also quite nice herself. She may not be able to find herself a man who had never wedded, but she should be able to score herself a decent divorced man.
After resting a little at the motel, Wu Xiuyue felt that Shu Yan was being too wasteful. Shu Yan may not care because she has money, but no way Wu Xiuyue would have done that on her own.
Around 3:30 AM or so, Shu Yan woke Wu Xiuyue up to go merchandizing. Wu Xiuyue was stunned by the crowd. “That many people have boutiques?”
It wasn’t something that one would notice normally. Once one was in the field, one would notice that there were many others in their same field out there.
