The two chitchatted on their way and had arrived at City Han before they realized. Shu Yan had always thought of Feng Zeyu as someone quiet and didn’t like to talk but he was actually quite a conversationist.

“I will take of now then,” said Shu Yan as she waved at him. She closed the car door and was about to walk away when she saw Feng Zeyu getting out of the car.

“Where are you going now?”

“I am going to go take a nap at a motel and come back here after 3 AM.” The weather was still cold outside, especially at night. Shu Yan wasn’t going to sit and wait outside like a fool.

“I’ll walk you there.” It was already past 11 PM and there were only a few street lamps scattered around spa.r.s.ely.

Shu Yan was about to decline his offer when Feng Zeyu started walking in front of her. She paused for a little bit and her lips started to curve upward. She followed behind him quietly.

“This is the motel that you stay at normally?” Feng Zeyu studied it inside and out. The place might appear cla.s.sy to others but it looked very unsafe to him through and through.

“Yeah, I am quite familiar with the boss lady already. Don’t worry, I am pretty safe here.” Shu Yan chuckled when she noticed his frown and said, “I am just a normal person and am quite safe here. Besides, many others come here to merchandize. I can always head to the market with them.”

Feng Zeyu was going to pay for Shu Yan but she declined. Never mind that she has her own money; even if she didn’t, she couldn’t have taken advantage of him that way.

The boss lady peeked her head out and asked Shu Yan in a low voice, “Is that your boyfriend?”

“No, just a friend,” replied Shu Yan after feeling a little surprised.

“Yeah, right. What kind of friend will walk you to a motel middle of the night and gives you that longing look when he leaves?” The boss lady didn’t believe in one word that Shu Yan had said.

“What do you mean by longing? He just turned and left.” Shu Yan didn’t know what to make of that.

“That you don’t know. I have been running this motel for many years now and have seen many different kinds of people. I’ve got good eyes. There was reluctance in his eyes when he took off. He is either your boyfriend or your suitor. He looks quite mature except for that scar on his face,” said the boss lady with regret.

“It’s fine for a man with a scar.” Besides, Shu Yan felt that the scar on Feng Zeyu looked quite domineering.

The boss lady smiled curiously at Shu Yan, “You are already protective of him?”

“That’s not it. I am just stating my point of view is all. Alright, Boss Lady, I am going to sleep. I’ll return your alarm clock when I am done.” Shu Yan did not wish to continue the subject with the boss lady and snuck away.

Shu Yan had always been able to fall asleep as soon as her head touched the pillow but she had a hard time falling asleep tonight. The boss lady’s words replayed repeatedly in her head.

Many people say that they were slow when it came to relations.h.i.+ps and that they weren’t aware of others’ interest until they had professed their love. Those were all nonsense. Regardless of men or women, unless they were fools, of course they could feel another person’s interest in them. Providing that it wasn’t well hidden or that the person themselves were not aware of their own emotions, the one on the recipient end for sure could feel it. They only keep it on the downlow because they enjoyed the process of being pursued.

Feng Zeyu was obviously different today than normal. Shu Yan could tell that very well. She had been thinking about it herself. She didn’t want to be conceited but his change was just too obvious. Someone who had always been quiet had become very chatty and then walked her to the motel all of a sudden…
