Chapter 141: Thunderblade, Second Fold

“What would this thing grow?
“Fruits? Vegetables? Cultivation manuals?”
Jiang He fiddled with the Mysterious Soil before putting it away. He would wait until his farm leveled up before planting it.
“Oh, right. After I harvested the Yuanbao and reach twenty-thousand Farm Points, I could afford to improve my martial arts now.”
Jiang He mused to himself for a long time before eventually selecting the Ninefold Thunderblade, to make up for his shortcomings in offensive strength... of course, this attack was weak to peak-level rank-nines.
[Ding!]
[Farm Points -10000]
[Congratulations, Host. You have gained Mastery over the Second Fold of the Ninefold Thunderblade.]
Jiang He left his yard.
Drawing out his Dragon-Slaying Saber and directing his True Qi, he slashed out into thin air.
There was an audible thunderous rumble, and a thunder-slash that extended over twenty meters descended from the skies.
Boom!
A house opposite was cut down by the slash.
“The power in this slash is good. Even if I don’t use royal sword, I could kill a rank-eight in several slashes, although it would be lacking when I’m up against a rank-nine martial artist.”
Jiang He made an estimation.
If he clashed against a rank-eight like Guilty Star, his twenty-meter thunder-slashes would definitely leave him helpless.
After a few swings, he would die if he could not block it.
That was the advantage of Ninefold Thunderblade—fierce and overwhelming, cornering the opponent with aura. If my first swing could not be deflected, you would be left with no s.p.a.ce to breathe, let alone retaliate when the second and third swing comes.
However, advantages were still drawbacks in disguise.
After all, elites like the Third Elder of the Sky Demon Cult would never fall even after dozens of swings. In spite of the ferocity and overwhelming force of the Ninefold Thunderblade, it was stiff as it only moved in straight lines. If an opportunity was exploited for a lethal retaliation, Jiang He’s death was only a.s.sured.
“Luckily, I have the Dark Golden Combat Suit.”
With the Dark Golden Combat Suit that basically kept him immune from most rank-nine attacks, he could allow himself to be beaten up as much as he wanted, and remain unscathed. On the other hand, his opponent would be maimed if they could not block his blade.
Returning inside the mansion, Jiang He took out one of the mutated black wood-ears and handed it to Sora.
There was still a lot of meat in the kitchen fridge. In fact, it was filled to the brim with Leopard Python Meat and Feral Beef.
Recently, Sora’s culinary skills had improved a lot as well, and she had learned about Jiang He’s tastes.
Jiang He liked hot food and a moderate level of salt, but he did not like c.u.min. He liked meat, and his stir-fried dishes were basically cooked on a two to one ratio to the vegetable. He had a lot of Feral meat anyway, since each Feral were over hundreds or thousands of catties give or take, with some being counted in the units of tons.
Soon, a sweet scent wafted from the kitchen.
That was when the screech of a car’s brakes could be heard outside his door.
Jiang He extended his consciousness for a look, and could not help scowling.
Mu Wanqiu.
That woman hadn’t texted for days, and yet she showed up when it’s time for dinner.
Was she not trying to freeload meals on purpose?
Most importantly, she was not alone—there were three trucks behind her vehicle, with two people in each truck.
Jiang He went out to meet her. “Mu Wanqiu, where have you been these days? You didn’t even text. Do you still want those three Ferals? They’ve been eating hundreds of catties of meat each day. I wouldn’t be able to afford to rear them soon.”
“Yes, yes, of course.”
Mu Wanqiu quickly explained, “The rank-seven black panther is too strong for normal cages to hold it. That’s why I returned on a trip to headquarters and had Grandfather make me a special cage.”
She pointed outside, where the three trucks each carried a ma.s.sive alloy cage.
Each cage was three meters tall and around thirteen meters in length, and was welded together with pipe-sized solid alloys.
“Tsk tsk.”
“Is the Superpower Research Department that rich?”
Jiang He couldn’t help exclaiming after a quick glance. “If I’m not wrong, there must be S-grade alloy mixed in, was it not? And it looks like a lot was used... wouldn’t a single cage be worth a few hundred million?”
After all a single S-grade combat blade was already worth several dozen millions.
With such a large cage, even if S-grade alloy was fused in with a ratio of 10:1 or 20:1, it was a huge load of money even if it was just around three hundred kilograms.
Still, it made sense when Jiang He thought about it.
The black panther was a rank-seven advanced Feral, and normal metal cages would never restrain it.
Moreover, what sort of an organization was the Superpower Research Department?
Others notwithstanding, their development of medicinal pellets and alloy weapons alone was enough to earn them truckloads of capital. And since they were the ones who developed those alloys, getting their hand on several hundred kilograms of S-grade alloy could not be simpler.
Jiang He even stepped outside on purpose to study the alloy beast cage, and could not help frowning, “This cage is quite st.u.r.dy, but could the welded joints withstand a collision from a rank-seven Feral?”
“You don’t have to worry about that.”
Mu Wanqiu took out something that resembled a remote then.
She aimed it at the cage and pressed a b.u.t.ton, and an electric current flash past the cage.
“We’ve wired in high-voltages current of up to several thousand volts. From the data we have, even rank-nine martial artists would be knocked unconscious instantly. Even if the Ferals had thick skin, a rank-seven advanced black panther would never withstand it.”
“Moreover, the cage is set to shock once it detects collision. If the Feral would are to crash into its walls, the current would be released instantly... eh?”
Suddenly, Mu Wanqiu cried out in shock, “Jiang He, no...”
She saw Jiang He extending his hand to the beast cage which had thousands of volts coursing through it.
Even as she exclaimed in shock, Mu Wanqiu tried to turn off her remote, but it was already too late—Jiang He’s hand had reached the cage.
All at once, cracking sounds popped as fiery bolts sparked out of the metal beast cage, surging wildly at Jiang He and making him shudder.
He let go, unable to repress a gasp!
“Ouch!
“The high-voltage is that scary?”
“I would be paralyzed for one second even with my body. If the voltage is cranked up to five or ten times, it really would knock me out.
“...”
Mu Wanqiu’s mouth hung open.
She only turned off the remote then, but was still unable to say a word.
The other Superpower Research Department workers who came with her, however, were left dumbstruck as if petrified.
What the heck!
What was he doing?
The high-voltage current that could knock out rank-nine martial artists was useless against him???
Nonetheless, Jiang He ignored all that.
He barked ‘big kitty’ into the yard, and in the next second, the black panther had arrived before Jiang He with its two brothers. However, the black panther was reluctant to get in the beast cage after Jiang He gestured for it to get in, which was why Jiang He whipped out his Dragon-Slaying Saber to reason with it.
Left shaking by Jiang He’s ‘big reasoning’, he climbed into the cage on its own.
“What the heck?”
“Laughing out loud... it’s not like I’m sending you to die. You just have to work with that little lady over there for research. Be happy!”
At Jiang He’s reprimanding, the black panther smiled ‘unhappily but staunchly’ like a human.
Still, Jiang He had a word with Mu Wanqiu before she left.
After she took those beasts with her, she should experiment with them as ruthlessly as she wanted, as long as she could return him an intact corpse.
Mu Wanqiu smiled bitterly.
‘Aren’t the panthers your pets?
‘Who abuses pets like that?’
“Our research requires live blood of Ferals and we’re not cutting them up, so their lives basically wouldn’t be in danger... by the way, about your reward, do you want cash, medicinal pellets, weapons, or cultivation manuals?”
An idea struck Jiang He then, and he asked, “Do you have Orirocks?”
