Chapter 71 - The nauseating stenChapter of love.

This chapter is brought to you by smolgingersugar and Ca.s.s!

The att.i.tude that Kang Shengzhe had was a sharp contrast to gloomy clouds and sad mists which hung over You Liangxing’s head. When the former smiled, it was like sun rays were s.h.i.+ning through, and under its glare, You Liangxing knitted his eyebrows and closed his eyes.

Laughter was suffused through Kang Shengzhe’s tone as he spoke with exuberance: “This is incredible, I was just thinking when would be the ‘next time’ I could meet you and in the next moment you’re lying by side. Perhaps I’m dreaming?”

As he spoke, Kang Shengzhe stretched his head out and caressed You Liangxing’s face without the slightest politeness.

You Liangxing delivered a punch to Kang Shengzhe’s stomach which caused the taller man to groan once even though his body did not bend. The doctor was right; he really was at the peak of perfection when it came to being naturally gifted at taking a thras.h.i.+ng.

Furthermore, despite taking a hit, he showed no anger. In fact, he seemed even happier. With a huge grin, he said: “There’s no mistaking it, it’s my Liang Liang.”

You Liangxing could not help but open his eyes, “You did it on purpose.”

Prior to this, Kang Shengzhe had evidently stared at him for a long while and even poked his face. If he wanted to confirm it, he would have accomplished it early on. Kang Shengzhe admitted to it frankly: “That’s right.”

Sure enough, he had touched his face with the particular purpose of doing so. They had only met for a few minutes but You Liangxing felt his eyebrows twitching again.

Kang Shengzhe looked at You Liangxing deeply and his serious gaze lasted for a long moment. Finally, he sighed with sincere emotion, “It’s too good to be true…”

You Liangxing had no way of refuting either. It was like a dramatic reunion out of a movie and he had no idea what to say first. Truthfully speaking, before he could even begin to conjure his words, his thought processes had already been thoroughly interrupted by Kang Shengzhe.

The person seemed spastic as he giggled to himself while staring at You Liangxing.

“Hehehe, hehehe, hehehe.”

You Liangxing: “……”

No longer able to tolerate it, You Liangxing spoke: “Shut your mouth.”

Although Kang Shengzhe was scarcely afraid, he still chose to suppress his laughter. He continued to look at You Liangxing quietly. And as if he had thought of something, he rummaged through his bag to search for something and handed it to You Liangxing.

You Liangxing hesitated because that piece of paper was none other than a boarding pa.s.s.

Kang Shengzhe smiled, “Let’s exchange.”

In two short words, it dredged up the memories of the promise they had made at the last meeting. You Liangxing lowered his eyes and took out his own boarding pa.s.s and they exchanged and retrieved the item simultaneously.

Boarding pa.s.ses had the other party’s information printed on it, and naturally, that included the other party’s name. Previously, they had agreed to tell each other their names the next time they met, and it was about to be realised.

Before they flipped to the front of the boarding pa.s.s, You Liangxing and Kang Shengzhe’s gazes met. Although everything seemed normal on the surface, something seemed to simmer underneath as if they were stepping over a very high threshold.

You Liangxing had always a.s.sumed that when they were going to exchange their names, it would be through verbal communication. However, using a textual method felt like an uncommon rites of pa.s.sage and it made it seem as though they were doing something extremely important.

You Liangxing settled his mind and flipped over the boarding pa.s.s. On the first line where the name was supposed to be, three distinct characters were printed: Kang Shengzhe.

That was Ah Sheng’s name.

Kang Shengzhe, Ah Sheng… that was how it came to be.

You Liangxing integrated the information instantaneously before he recalled the main account Ah Sheng used for broadcasting purposes. Victor KK, Victor; in its own way, it was similar to Shengzhe. To use such a method to give himself a name – it was understandably both simple and crude.

Meanwhile, Kang Shengzhe was looking at the name on the boarding pa.s.s as well, and he was repeating his name in his heart: You Liangxing. After a short while, he sighed: “This name really suits you.”

You Liangxing shot him a glance. Similarly, in the recesses of his own mind, he felt that Kang Shengzhe’s name suited the person himself. Disregarding the other factors and just looking at the name alone, it gave the sense that it was to be expected, and it corresponded to the given person.

But now that he really thought about it, he vaguely felt that he had heard the name somewhere. You Liangxing said: “Were you late just now?”

Kang Shengzhe said: “Overslept, waking up early is really hard, what are you smiling for?”

You Liangxing faltered, only to realise that he had unconsciously registered Kang Sheng’s love for sleeping as an una.s.sailable truth in human reality.

“Nothing really.”

Kang Shengzhe was unconvinced but he abruptly stretched out his head. You Liangxing reacted with a puzzled expression, so Kang Shengzhe explained: “Handshake.”

“Reason?”

“Just&#k2026; to commemorate the rapid development of our relations.h.i.+p from here on out?” As he said that, Kang Shengzhe blinked with bright eyes.

You Liangxing’s eyebrow twitched. Hand going forward as a fist, his punch landed on Kang Shengzhe’s palm, but the man reacted quickly; he overlapped both his hands and successfully captured You Liangxing’s hand.

Grinning, Kang Shengzhe said, “h.e.l.lo there, You Liangxing.”

He wore a smiling expression but his countenance was gentle and solemn. You Liangxing glared at him for a long time before he eventually pulled his hand back, twisted his body towards the window and said, “I’m going to sleep.”

He really was a little sleepy, but the appearance of his turned body made it seem like he had fled after being defeated.

When the stewardess came around to distribute the mineral water in a perfunctory manner, Kang Shengzhe nodded to her, saying: “Both of us are a little sleepy and we would like to take a short rest. Do you have blankets?”

Kang Shengzhe and You Liangxing both possessed outstanding appearances and the stewardess could not resist throwing them a few more glances. Since both of them were handsome men, the att.i.tude the stewardess adopted towards them was more considerate and gentler than usual.

“Yes, please wait for a moment.”

The stewardess handed him two blankets, to which Kang Shengzhe only took one. Smiling, he said: “One is enough for both of us.” While he spoke, Kang Shengzhe unfurled the blanket that was not big in size and draped it evenly between him and You Liangxing.

In an instant, the perception that the stewardess had changed from that of two handsome men to a pair of gay guys. As she pushed the cart further away, she could not help but turn back frequently.

You Liangxing, who had been pretending to sleep, “……”

… Poisonous, he was truly poisonous. At this rate, he was going to be die by poison.

Seemingly pleased with himself, Kang Shengzhe fiddled with phone under the cover of the blankets, and what he was doing was largely unknown. After a short while, You Liangxing, who had his head tilted away, jolted from the sudden sensation of an earpiece being plugged into his ear.

The music that filtered into his ear was a song played on piano; the soothing melody was very gentle, and it was rather relaxing to listen to.

Although two people sharing a set of earpiece fuelled the notion that they were gay and in love to anyone who glanced at them, the close-eyed You Liangxing could care less when his drowsiness was gradually overtaking him. While he was still tuned into the music, he unconsciously said: “What song is this?”

Kang Shengzhe asked, “Not asleep yet?”

Kang Shengzhe’s voice was clear and it was apparent that he was not sleepy. It was rare for him to be this energised in the early morning and he said: “That’s great. Liang Liang, I have some questions I would like to ask you.”

You Liangxing did not reply but Kang Shengzhe continued: “This plane goes directly from the Imperial Capital to City A and it does not stop in the middle; therefore, your destination must be City A. Additionally, I remember that you previously said that the university you were studying was away from home, and the aforementioned ‘away from home’ must be in City A, right?”

Kang Shengzhe might have said the statement in a bland tone but it had stunned You Liangxing when it landed in his ears. His eyes jerked open and he was about to rectify with a response when Kang Shengzhe had already spoken the next sentence which was even more shock-inducing.

“If your university is in City A, and if I had to hazard a guess, with Liang Liang’s natural excellence in anything he does, including his academic results, then his university should be A University, right?”

You Liangxing: “……”

Right on target.

He guessed it.

Frankly speaking, after encountering You Liangxing on the plane, the answer to the question was not difficult to parcel out. However, all his a.s.sumptions were based on the premise that they both happen to sit on the same plane.

Just last night, You Liangxing had felt that he had gained the upper hand regarding their situation, but he never expected that in under a few hours’ worth of effort, Kang Shengzhe would catch up.

The distance between the pair had pulled closer from two distant ends of a network; they had grown close to the point where their relations.h.i.+p had now transformed into that of a school senior and his school junior.

Kang Shengzhe had been overly excited early in the morning, and thus his consciousness was overstimulated. It was only after he had gradually settled down from the pleasant surprise of encountering You Liangxing that his brain had resumed its normal operations and allowed him to make sense of one aspect of their relations.h.i.+p.

It made sense of why You Liangxing had reacted the way he had when he said that he was a student from University A, and that reason was because they were from the same university.

The same university… Kang Shengzhe’s thoughts quickly spun themselves into a tizzy, and before long, he started laughing in bizarre notes. “Ohoho~ I’m really looking forward to it~”

You Liangxing: “……”

In a blink of an eye, You Liangxing was no longer looking forward to the chance encounter in the slightest. After receiving a scare from Kang Shengzhe, he had no intention of sleeping either, while Chief Culprit Kang Shengzhe seemed too pleased with himself as he pulled up the blanket and said cutely: “I’m sleepy, I’m going to sleep for a while.”

Head slanting, he laid it on You Liangxing’s shoulder and closed his eyes.

You Liangxing: “…. Hey.”

You Liangxing: “Hey!”

He actually fell asleep immediately after closing his eyes.

You Liangxing did not know whether he wanted to cry or laugh, in fact, he even had half the mind to punch him awake out of anger. After glaring at him coldly for a long moment, he finally sighed silently.

He really was his bane.

The flight duration that You Liangxing had initially wanted to sleep through ended up being an hour of music listening until it was announced that they had landed. After getting off the plane, the journey home for one became a journey for two; You Liangxing was pulling his luggage as Kang Shengzhe followed behind closely.

When they were going downstairs, the flow of people was congested and You Liangxing luggage accidentally collided against the wall. With a loud thump, the wheel on his luggage broke.

Kang Shengzhe squatted down to check the condition of the wheels before he shook his head: “It’s spoilt.”

Since it could not be pulled, lifting or carrying it on his shoulders was the only option. Kang Shengzhe took the initiative to offer: “I’ll carry it for you.”

You Liangxing shook his head: “No need.”

“Don’t be like that, there’s no need to be polite with me.”

When it came to matters that could increase his favourability, it was unlikely for Kang Shengzhe to drop it. Thus, he smiled and pulled over the luggage. He bent his body over to lift the luggage to his shoulders, but in less than two seconds, he placed it back down.

Kang Shengzhe supported his waist and said awkwardly, “Maybe it’s better for you to do it.”

You Liangxing: “……”

Brows twitching, You Liangxing leaned over and lifted up his luggage. There were a lot of heavy items in his luggage, and rather than lifting it, carrying it was more convenient. Hence, he chose to carry it on his shoulders, and continued walking at his usual pace.

From the second to the first floor, the flow of human traffic was arduously slow. Despite having to carry his luggage for more than ten minutes, You Liangxing’s complexion did not change, nor did his breathing show any signs of disorder. Kang Shengzhe cupped his face with both hands, displaying the amorous feelings of a young girl’s heart on his visage.

“Liang Liang, you have so much strength, it really evokes a sense of safety~”

You Liangxing: “……”

Sure, okay, you can shut up now.

Although he could not carry You Liangxing’s luggage, the two-meter tall Kang Shengzhe was thick skinned enough to cheer him on, and it lasted until they left the airport where You Liangxing had lowered his luggage and emptied both his hands. Under the threat of punches, the two-meter tall man finally shut his mouth.

You Liangxing shot him a long glare before he said: “Where are you going?”

With a face of obedience, Kang Shengzhe replied: “Going home.”

You Liangxing stretched out his hand to flag a car, saying: “Then you should go first.”

Kang Shengzhe did not really want to leave but he did not dare to return. Before he left, he suddenly s.n.a.t.c.hed You Liangxing’s phone.

Because the action had been done too suddenly, You Liangxing had no chance to pre-empt it, thus shocking him. However, Kang Shengzhe was even more stunned than he was; two seconds into his theft and some fiddling, he showed a crying expression.

“Why is your phone locked?” Feeling wronged, Kang Shengzhe said, “How do I save my number in your phone like the male leads in idol dramas if you’re like this? Hmpf, you’re not romantic at all.”

You Liangxing’s veins were pulsating, “… Do you want to die.”

Kang Shengzhe stilled and changed into an innocent expression in a moment’s work. Plastering on an expression of affability, he gazed at You Liangxing, “Liang Liang, with how cute I am, how could you be willing to beat me to death?”

You Liangxing said: “Willing.”

Kang Shengzhe: “Ying ying ying.”

Having reached the end of his patience, You Liangxing said irately: “Give me back my phone.”

Kang Shengzhe did not move and You Liangxing snapped: “Give it back!”

The severe tone he used made Kang Shengzhe pause, and he slowly handed the phone back to its owner. Once the phone left his hands, Kang Shengzhe lowered his head. Even though he did not feign an aggrieved expression on purpose, it somehow managed to make him look more pitiful.

Feeling his head getting bigger, You Liangxing scrunched his eyebrows and scrunched them again before he finally said: “Phone.”

Kang Shengzhe: “Huh?”

You Liangxing repeated: “Your phone.”

Kang Shengzhe raised his head, eyes brightening. Hastily, he unlocked his phone and gave it to You Liangxing. With a frown, You Liangxing entered his number on the keypad, and very quickly, Kang Shengzhe had a new contact saved in his phone.

“Do not call me without reason.”

Having attained his phone number, Kang Shengzhe raised his hand and swore: “I absolutely won’t call.”

You Liangxing glared at him once, “Hurry up and leave.”

Kang Shengzhe revealed a resplendent smile, and obediently got onto the taxi. Even as the taxi moved further and further away, he did not stop waving at You Liangxing, excited, and he looked like a big child.

An oversized child.

You Liangxing’s entire body seemed to shed off his strict posturing and he quickly got into his own taxi and directed it towards his own apartment.

The two vehicles were riding in opposite directions but the two of them were in the same city. Even if one was in the south while the other was in the north, they were still on the same land, and the cognition of that fact lingered in You Liangxing’s mind for a long time without fading.

After carrying his luggage for a long time, You Liangxing’s shoulders were a little sore. He was leaning back against his seat and rubbing his shoulders when his phone suddenly rang.

It was supposed to be a private number, but You Liangxing had no troubles imagining the other party’s name.

Kang Shengzhe.

…. He told him not to call him without reason.

Despite the complaint lodged in his head, the corners of You Liangxing’s mouth curled. His smile was accompanied by a headache and it was tinted with some helplessness. He allowed the call to go through, and from the other end, the voice of someone pinching their throat flowed out from the other end.

“Excuse me, is this You Liangxing?”

You Liangxing saw through his disguise at first glance. Calmly, he stated, “What are you doing?”

Kang Shengzhe seemed dead set on persisting through his act, and he continue to feign his voice. “Oh, it is like this, I am Qin s.h.i.+ Huang. Recently, I’ve just resurrected and I intend to conquer the world. However, I currently have no travelling expenses. If you are willing to aid me financially, I’ll make you my concubine after I have taken City A. What do you think of it?”

You Liangxing: “……”

Kang Shengzhe continued saying, “Are you not satisfied? If that’s the case, I’ll confer you as my Empress, and I can offer no more than that.”

You Liangxing: “……”

Kang Shengzhe: “Why aren’t you speaking?”

Indifferently, You Liangxing said: “Hanging up.”

“Ah—don’t!” Kang Shengzhe stopped pinching his throat and ceased his prank call. His original voice returned and he hummed: “Liang Liang~”

You Liangxing said: “What did I just tell you?”

Kang Shengzhe replied consciously: “Not to call you without a reason… but I do have a reason.”

You Liangxing let out a bark of laughter, “You have a reason?”

Kang Shengzhe said: “Is allowing you to save my number not considered a reason?”

If that was the case, You Liangxing a.s.serted, “Since it has been accomplished, I’m hanging up.”

Hurriedly, Kang Shengzhe said: “Wait, wait, wait, wait!” Knowing that he could not drag it out, Kang Shengzhe decided to seize the last opportunity. “Last sentence, let me say one last sentence.”

You Liangxing: “Speak.”

Kang Shengzhe stalled it for a second before he said in a self-gratified manner: “Your voice sounds really nice~”

You Liangxing: “……”
