Chapter 51 - Looks like a legendary giant bird.

Hearing Bai Yao’s shout, You Liangxing finally decided to stop at where he stood after a bout of hesitation. It was not because he was submitting to Bai Yao’s pressure, rather, he wanted to avoid the possibility of Bai Yao doing something that would destroy her image in front of an audience.

Thankfully, Bai Yao was clear about the circ.u.mstances in her heart, and she managed to resist the urge to take off her shoes. However, it did not mean he was being let off the hook, and the series of clacks being issued by her high heels still restrained him ruthlessly. Bai Yao could care less about the gazes surrounding them as she hugged You Liangxing’s waist in a death grip, shouting: “What are you doing here? Are you leaving me again!”

You Liangxing: “….” Could you please tone down your act, a little is already enough.

Written on her expression was the absolute fear that You Liangxing would run away, but the pair of tender arms wrapped around him – which seemed incomparably thin on the surface – actually possessed the strength to break You Liangxing’s waist.

You Liangxing endured the pain in silence before he dispelled the urges br.i.m.m.i.n.g in his heart and calmed down.

…. What was he doing here?

Although he had agreed to meet him on WeChat, it was undeniable that they had just ended their cold war. The other considerations could be disregarded first. More importantly, even if he were to succeed in meeting KK now after finding him, what should he even start with?

I’m Liang Liang? I came here to see you? No matter what he conjured, it all seemed too abrupt.

The remorse within You Liangxing reared its head again, and he was not sure why he had allowed his sudden enthusiasm to overtake his rationality, to the point where he had gotten off the car and ran here. Thankfully, he had seen the errors in his ways in a timely manner, and it had yet to develop to the stage where they were both taken by surprise by the unexpected meeting, which would have resulted in some awkward staring.

As he was introspecting, Bai Yao pinched his back, and impatiently said: “I’m asking you something.”

No matter what, it was impossible for him to divulge to Bai Yao that he wanted to meet KK. You Liangxing contemplated for some time before he said: “Let go.”

Bai Yao: “You will abandon me if I let go!”

Saying that, Bai Yao shot Yao Miaomiao a glance, one that was br.i.m.m.i.n.g with the resentful words of ‘I told you to look after Ah Liang and yet you haphazardly ran with him’.

Yao Miaomiao’s lips quivered, and her appearance was that of a s.h.i.+vering chick.

He was the one who insisted on getting out of the car and Yao Miaomiao was merely the reluctant follower. Feeling apologetic, and perhaps due to his innate quick-wittedness, an idea flashed in You Liangxing’s mind and he opened his mouth in the same breath. “I’m here to pick you up.”

Bai Yao frowned: “Really?”

You Liangxing: “En.”

Even though she was aware that she was dealing with polite ba.n.a.lity, those words still came from You Liangxing’s mouth. Bai Yao was elated, and she started beaming instead of putting on an expression of gloom in an instant. She giggled, “Mm, I knew you loved me.”

Her laughter trembled amidst its notes and it seemed to possess a witch-like quality. The grip around You Liangxing’s waist loosened and his right hand was taken hostage instead as he was pulled out.

At the same time, the news regarding Bai Yao and You Liangxing had reached the VIP room, and everyone in the VIP room glanced outwards. The door was still open, and it was ineluctable that they would witness Bai Yao holding a man in an intimate and ambiguous manner.

Kang Shengzhe was the closest to the door, but before he could respond, he was abruptly yanked to the side by w.a.n.g Lu who had leapt up to cover his eyes.

w.a.n.g Lu said: “Don’t look at the s.e.xual a.s.sault, don’t look at the s.e.xual a.s.sault! When it comes to Bai Yao’s private matters, seeing too much is to your detriment, so it’s better not to look!”

Even though w.a.n.g Lu said that, he could not resist the urge to look outside the door with his own two eyes. However, neither Bai Yao nor the man turned back, and he could not ascertain his appearance in the end.

Looking at Bai Yao’s distant figure, w.a.n.g Lu felt slightly disappointed. After pausing for a while, he muttered to himself, “I’ve never heard of Bai Yao being in love ah, unless it is a love borne in secret? What kind of play is this, my G.o.d, this is big news. Right, KK, did you see how the man looked like just now?”

Kang Shengzhe lowered his head to look at w.a.n.g Lu, gaze seemingly trying to convey his speechlessness regarding w.a.n.g Lu’s ethics of asking for the person’s when he had been active in preventing him from taking a look. Either way, he had seen nothing to begin with. Extremely indifferent, Kang Shengzhe replied: “No.”

Realising that he was in the wrong, w.a.n.g Lu did not pursue the matter further and enquired about the matter he was most concerned about. “What did you say to Bai Yao just now?”

Kang Shengzhe replied: “I asked for an autograph.”

w.a.n.g Lu was startled, “Ah? Autograph. You just wanted an autograph? Is this really the time to ask for an autograph!”

Sensing that the words were of little substance and they were being spoken out of vexation, Kang Shengzhe no longer paid any heed to them. Instead, he lowered his head and took a photo off his own s.h.i.+rt, opened his WeChat and shared it with high spirits.

Compared to Bai Yao and the person she was hugging and being intimate with, his entire heart was more into Liang Liang, who had been cold like ice but was gradually starting to thaw.

Liang Liang, Liang Liang, Liang Liang was the most important; in what way did the person Bai Yao was pulling along have to do with him?

Alongside the photo, Kang Shengzhe added a caption: –【Picture】For you.

When the message arrived, You Liangxing, Bai Yao and Yao Miaomiao happened to be in front of the car, and You Liangxing immediately took out his phone to check it. His actions were obviously a little out of the norm, and it caused Bai Yao to shoot him a glance, her inner Sherlock Holmes rising.

“Who is it?”

“A friend.”

As You Liangxing answered her, he inclined his head to enter the car and tapped on the image that Kang Shengzhe sent at the same time.

In the picture was a s.h.i.+rt that was worn on his body, and on the white canvas itself, the two characters ‘Bai Yao’ was written in a flamboyant style. Even though it was coherent at a glance, the white background against the red words did not look like an autograph; rather, it looked like a letter written in blood with teeth and claw implements.

[Ah Sheng]: — Do you like it?

For You Liangxing, Bai Yao’s autograph was very ordinary. However, it was different when it came to Ah Sheng. Even if he could not see Ah Sheng’s appearance, You Liangxing could perceive his attempt to take credit and seek rewards for someone else’s achievement in one simple sentence.

You Liangxing’s lips curled up slightly as he replied: — En.

Ah Sheng sent over an expression of boundless joy from his end.

Perhaps it was because the expression he sent was too cute, but You Liangxing felt that the ‘blood letter’, signed by Bai Yao with her lipstick, looked more and more pleasing to the eye.

Bai Yao gave him a few consecutive glances before she asked Yao Miaomiao: “Is Ah Liang actually smiling?”

Yao Miaomiao: “Yeah, he smiled.”

With a proud visage, Bai Yao a.s.serted: “Worthy of being my family’s man, his smile is so attractive.”

Yao Miaomiao: “……”

Before Yao Miaomiao could snap out of her stiffness, Bai Yao was already waving a hand in front of You Liangxing’s eyes. “Ah Liang, are you in love?”

You Liangxing felt that those words sounded slightly familiar as if he had been asked that question before. Without him being cognizant of it, he would always give others the delusion that he was in love whenever he was chatting with Ah Sheng.

You Liangxing said: “No.”

Bai Yao frowned, “Really?”

You Liangxing repeated: “No.”

Utterly serious, Bai Yao said: “It’s fine if you’re in love. I won’t hinder you, really, as long as your significant other looks better than me appearance and figure-wise. If that is the case, I will definitely support you.”

You Liangxing pretended he did not hear what she said which led to her dissatisfaction, “You are ridiculing me.”

You Liangxing kept his mouth shut.

Bai Yao looked at Yao Miaomiao, and Yao Miaomiao said without missing a beat: “How could there be a female who looks better than Sister Yaoyao appearance and figure-wise, Sister Yaoyao is the most beautiful there is!”

Satisfied, Bai Yao smiled with crinkled eyes. “I’ll give you raise.”

Yao Miaomiao’s eyes started br.i.m.m.i.n.g with hot tears right away.

The pair of celebrity and a.s.sistant started chatting up a storm but You Liangxing did not want Bai Yao to continue prying into the question of his love life. His train of thought s.h.i.+fted, and he could not help but ask: “Your work….”

With the simple mention, Yao Miaomiao quickly gathered her spirits. Since she hadn’t been by Bai Yao’s side, she had not been a.s.sured in the least. Now that it had been casually brought up by You Liangxing, she immediately straightened her back and asked hurriedly: “Sister Yaoyao, did the meeting with the anchors go smoothly?”

Bai Yao: “Yes.”

“Was the contract mentioned?”

“It was mentioned briefly but I ignored it, and the person-in-charge didn’t bring it up again. I already told them not to discuss this matter with me since I could not be bothered with it. Call the agent and tell him to handle it later.”

Yao Miaomiao bobbed her head in the positive. “Okay, okay, sure.”

After confirming the details of the most important agenda one after another, Yao Miaomiao finally had the time to gossip. And since she did not play King’s Glory, nor did she watch any live broadcasts, she was naturally curious about it. “Sister Yaoyao, how were the two anchors like?”

Bai Yao thought back about it, “Piaoluo looks rather ordinary but he was very enthusiastic when he saw he saw me. Whereas KK….”

Saying that, she paused, the changes in her expression subtle. And perhaps because she was absorbed in her recollection, she did not notice that You Liangxing had sat up when she said ‘KK’.

Bai Yao concluded: “That KK will never find a girlfriend in this lifetime, he definitely won’t find one! I’ve never met a man who was so petty towards a beautiful lady like me. He wanted me to sign him and yet he only gave me two pieces of sweets, and he even did so reluctantly….” Resentful, Bai Yao cursed, “Forever alone!”

Speaking of the sweets, Bai Yao started rummaging her bag for it. Quickly, two little ‘Small Sweet Heart’ appeared in Bai Yao’s palm, and the wrapping was a little crumpled after being squashed. Its packing looking flimsy, simple and crude.

“Is my autograph only worth two sweets?” Bai Yao said, intending to unwrap the sweet to eat it. Just as she was about to make her move, You Liangxing opened up his palm right before her eyes.

Bai Yao was stunned, “You want one?”

You Liangxing nodded, which surprised Bai Yao a little. “Don’t you rarely eat sweets?”

Despite asking the question, her hands did not stop as she immediately gave one of the sweets to You Liangxing. However, even after receiving one, he did not retract his outstretched palm.

Bai Yao: “What is the meaning of this?”

You Liangxing opened his mouth and finally said: “That other sweet… I want it too.”

Bai Yao lowered her head to stare at the unremarkable piece of candy, as if she wanted to use her gaze to drill in a hole in it. In spite of her intense staring, she could not discern what was the charm behind the sweet.

Bai Yao extended her hand before she withdrew it again. “No, I want to eat it.”

Gazing at the sweet, You Liangxing pondered through his options briefly before he came up with a method to rob somebody of something they cherished. He stated, “You’ll become fat.”

Bai Yao: “…..”

Bai Yao, who had been told that she will become fat twice today, “You’re the one who will get fat! You’re the fattest! Your entire family is fat!”

After thinking about it, she added: “Except your older sister!”

You Liangxing raised his hand: “Candy.”

Bai Yao pouted: “…. Here you go!”

Now that the Small Sweet Hearts were in hands, You Liangxing looked outside the window to avoid Bai Yao’s probing gaze. However, his attention was effectively stolen by Yao Miaomiao’s next line.

Yao Miaomiao said, “What does he look he like, that KK.”

You Liangxing sucked in a breath and he could not help but look over at Bai Yao. He blinked silently and tried to ignore the fact that he cared, and patiently waited for Bai Yao’s answer.

Bai Yao sank into a moment of contemplation as she remembered the appearance of Kang Shengzhe rus.h.i.+ng towards her. She said: “What does he look like huh…. Just… en, like a legendary giant bird.”

You Liangxing: “…..”

Yao Miaomiao: “…..”

Legendary giant bird? What, what does a legendary giant bird even look like?

Yao Miaomiao paused, deciding to ignore the problematic answer and went straight to the point. “Sister Yaoyao, between KK and Piaoluo, who will you be choosing?”

Bai Yao said, “I’m choosing the legendary giant bird.”

Yao Miaomiao stilled before she continued asking: “Why?” Having heard Bai Yao begrudge KK as a forever alone, and later calling him a legendary giant bird, she had a.s.sumed that KK was no longer viable.

Bai Yao: “Because he looks attractive.”

Yao Miaomiao: “…..” ? A legendary giant bird was capable of being handsome?

Yao Miaomiao: “For, for real?”

Bai Yao replied, “Of course not.”

Yao Miaomiao asked, “Then why?”

No one could be certain what Bai Yao was thinking when she suddenly smeared on a smile as she said: “That Piaoluo said he was my fan.”

Yao Miaomiao did not understand why that was a point for contention. “En, well, so?”

Bai Yao: “But his acting skills wasn’t very polished, and its far worse than mine.”

Stiffening, Yao Miaomiao quickly understood where she was insinuating after a few beats. Piaoluo must have tried to chum up to her and believed that he had succeeded, only to lift the stone and smash his own foot with it. And when had Bai Yao ever been played the fool – in the entire entertainment industry, only Bai Yao had the capital to fool others.

Listening to the two ladies chatter on about their work, You Liangxing unconsciously looked at his phone and entered the chat he shared with [Ah Sheng], only to later realise that he had done so when he snapped out of his trance.

…. Indeed, the attention he was giving this individual was a little too much.

You Liangxing was about to shut off his phone when Ah Sheng sent another message as if their hearts were on the same wavelength.

— Right, I have another gift for you.

–【Picture】

You Liangxing tapped on it and gave a sudden pause. The reason was that, in the picture, it was none other than a tin full of ‘Small Sweet Heart’ candies.

[Ah Sheng]: — I’ll let you in on a secret, Bai Yao wanted it but I refused to give it to her.

[Ah Sheng]: — It’s sweet, really sweet.

You Liangxing: “…..”

You Liangxing could not help splutter out a laugh. Afraid that he would gain Bai Yao’s notice, he immediately twisted his head and covered his mouth, and it took him a long while before he could reply with an ‘en’. Soon after, he peeled away the wrapper and popped the rounded candy in his mouth.

When the saccharine sweetness diffused on his tongue, You Liangxing could not push down the curl of his lips.

It seemed like KK did not lie, the candy was indeed sweeter.
