I sat silently at my vanity and stared as my nursemaid worked on getting me prettied up for my date with Zayn. I silently wished for this day to be over, for my cozy apartment back home on Earth, and for all these suiters to just leave me alone.

She had me dressed in a beautiful blue c.o.c.ktail dress that had silver running through the skirt. She had my dark hair half pulled back in a braided crown and the other half had a slight wave to it and there was some silver ta.s.sle running through it. My eyes had their normal blue, but there was silver in them that the dress helped pop out brightly. I slightly cursed myself for choosing this one, but it was too late to go back now considering I was supposed to leave within the next few minutes. My eyes had a silver eyeshadow on with some blue eyeliner above my glowing eyes.

I closed my eyes and let Lakina do her magic and hide some of my unnatural features she had pointed out before. Truly combining both halves of me had an effect that made most of the people in the halls stop and do a double take, not recognizing me at first. My glamour truly hid my different hair, hid my strange wings, and masked my crazy eyes, but most of me still would s.h.i.+ne through it.

I heard a knock on the door and opened my eyes at the sound of Angel's voice.

"Rosalina, I have a letter for you," Lakina said as Angel left the room. I reached up and grabbed the small piece of paper from her hand and slowly opened it as she turned to add some small jewels into my hair.

'Rose-

I want you to know that I love you before you go into this alone, but know you are not truly alone in this place. I will be with Kai and we will be watching you two from a distance. He and Week know nothing of the changes in you yet. Stay weary of Elizabeth, for she also thinks your memory is still missing, and she told Week she would help bring you back to your normal self.

Your plan is exquisite, but are you sure it will work?

Truly yours,

Angel'

I smiled down at the small paper and my thoughts flew back to my time with Lizzie. I felt tears forming in my eyes, remembering my love for her always made me choke up. I still loved her, but something about my love for her had faded within recent times, yet something inside me was unwilling to truly give her up yet.

Another knock echoed throughout the room and made me jump. "Enter," I called and looked over to a girl with faded blue hair and green eyes walking into the room. I felt myself tensing up at her presence without one of the boys or Angel with her. The two of us were never once left alone together. Lakina bowed and exited the room, her eyes were trained on Elizabeth as if she was planning her murder in her head.

Lizzie made her way into the room and spun in circles studying it. It was nothing like the room I remember from Asladon's magical house, but it was quite something. The walls were painted silver with white feathers littering the bottoms of the walls, falling into piles towards the floor. All of my furniture was white and the bed had a black comforter with some silver feathers embroidered on it.

"Your room in Asladon was better than this feather h.e.l.l," she said and threw herself onto my bed, leaving me to just gape at her. Even after all this time, she still saw me the same way.

"What do you mean my room in Asladon, I've never been there before-" I started only for Lizzie to scoff and cut me off.

"Drop the act, Princess, I could sense your demon half when it first came up to the surface," she replied and glared back at me. I felt all of my insides freeze at her words. There was no way. If she knew then there was no way to stop her from telling the boys, then they would leave us here and the plan would be ruined.

"Did you-"

"No, I figured I would keep it between Angel and my girlfriend, right?" she said and smiled at me the smile that used to take my breath away, but now I felt nothing for the cuteness she was trying to display to me. I faked a smile that she seemed to buy at first, then I watched her eyes become troubled and I felt my heart begin to pound harder. "You don't feel the same, Rosie?"

Just as soon as she was on the bed, she was next to me, cupping my cheek. I unconsciously leaned into it, but I pulled away when the familiar rage was clouding her eyes.

"They did this to you, didn't they, Rose?" she asked, her voice was cold as she addressed me. "Mom and Week made you forget about your love for me, didn't they?" She ran across the room and stood next to my dresser, in the same s.p.a.ce that my old mirror used to be.

"Lizzie, no one did anything-" I started, but I let out a tiny scream as a vase flew across the room and hit the wall next to my head. I blinked and she appeared in front of me, her eyes held pain within them.

"Rose, I'm sorry. Don't lie to me, what did they do to you, baby?" she asked, her voice was lighter and she cupped my cheek again, but fear filled my body at her touch instead of the normal admiration and comfort. I whimpered and watched as the pain was replaced with anger. She pulled her hand away and threw something else across the room before turning to me. I saw her hand start flying towards me and I squeezed my eyes shut, waiting for the impact that never came. I opened my eyes and noticed a figure in front of me. Zayn.

"That's quite enough, Miss. You shouldn't hit a princess, let alone an archangel's daughter," he said, and pushed me completely behind him.

"This isn't over, Rose. We will continue this conversation later." With that, Lizzie was gone and I heard a sigh of relief come from Zayn as he turned to look at me.

"Are you okay, Princess Rosalina?" he asked, ever the pleasant gentleman. I nodded and he pulled me into his embrace. I felt tears start to roll down my cheeks. "It's okay, Rosalina. You can cry, there is no way you're okay after that, I asked a stupid question." I let myself break apart at his words and Zayn just let me. He rubbed circles on my back as I sobbed. After a while, I pulled away from him and smiled at him. I looked at myself in the mirror and almost laughed. I looked like trash, and I knew his was supposed to be Zayn's night.

"I'm sorry, let me get Lakina back then we can-"

"Forget that, Rosalina. Let's do a movie night instead of that fancy dinner, how about that?" Zayn asked, sending me a smile in return and I nodded, feeling more at ease, but still on edge because of what he had said at the ball. I found my makeup remover and took off the remaining makeup on my face. Zayn left as soon as I had to change from his fancy clothes into something comfier. I slipped out of my dress and stepped into my pajamas, and started to pull the small gems out of my braided hair. Just as I had pulled the last of my hair own, a knock echoed again and Zayn walked through before leading me to the theatre room.

We distracted ourselves with small banter that made me think of siblings rather than lovers. Throughout the movie, Zayn would grab my hand and squeeze it before letting it go or he would look up at me and watch me, looking for any trace of the hurt I was feeling earlier. I couldn't remember most of the movie as we started our walk back to my room.

"Thank you for this, Zayn," I said, surprising the young prince. He shook his head and smiled back down at me as we stopped in front of my room.

"Truly nothing, Rosalina. I promise," he said, then smirked at something over my shoulder, but stopped me from turning by kissing me quickly. I pulled away, feeling slightly dazed at his boldness and finally gained my composure as he started to walk away. That's when I chose to turn around, coming face-to-face with the one person I wished hasn't seen that. Week.

I opened my mouth to speak, but he looked so hurt at that moment. Anger then clouded his vision as he turned to walk away from me.

Pain hit me hard, as memories flowed back to the front of my vision. They were things I had hoped I wouldn't have to remember. I quickly walked into my room and shut the door behind me. I pressed my back to it as the tears found their way back into my eyes. I slid myself down the door and let myself sob for the second time that day.
