Her voice sounded gentle and warm even though the night was cold. All of a sudden a firework exploded above her head lighting her beautiful face up for Yang Guang to see.
At that moment, Yang Guang's attention was not on Ye Xing. Instead, all of it was on the man stalking her and The d.a.m.n that was tailing her.
Yang Guang really wanted to turn around and leave that instant, but his conscience told him that he should save her.
First, he took out the biggest threat, The d.a.m.n, as it could kill both Ye Xing and the man stalking her.
Under the cover of the night, Yang Guang dashed towards The d.a.m.n as punched its face, smas.h.i.+ng it in an instant and turning it into soul dust.
Next, he ran towards the man who was stalking Ye Xing. He grabbed his head and slammed him into the ground.
'Something else is here!' Yang Guang eyes opened wide as he scanned his surroundings.
It was a rank five d.a.m.n Creature, its body was slender and scaly like an eastern dragon. A yellow glow shone from his eyes as its razor teeth sparkled like pearls. In Yang Guang's eyes, it looked more like a house lizard.
Motes of light gathered onto Yang Guang palms as he summoned his rattan pole and stabbed the House Dragon right in front of Ye Xing who still didn't notice anything.
BOOM
Another firework exploded in the night sky, it lit up the night sky and this time Ye Xing opened her eyes to look at the beautiful sparks.
Instead, what she saw what a teenage boy with green hair holding a rattan pole in the air. His cap had been blown away by the wind causing his grey hair to flutter around.
His green eyes reflected the colourful light from the firework, as green dust floats round his body creating a magical sight for Ye Xing who narrowly escaped disaster after disaster.
'd.a.m.n she saw me!' Yang Guang told himself as he landed onto the ground.
"Yang Guang?"
"Why are you here, didn't you get hit by a car?"
"What happened just now, what is this green dust on the ground?"
Ye Xing started asking questions that Yang Guang did not want to hear the most, his brain started to think of excuses and lies to get out of this mess.
"Here is your cap." Ye Xing said as she handed Yang Guang the cap that had fallen off due to the gust of wind produced when he struck The d.a.m.n.
His hand reached out and grabbed his cap, dust scattered into the night as Yang Guang patted them away then he put it back on.
"Hey, you haven't answered me yet." Ye Xing asked as she smiled at Yang Guang.
Without saying anything else other than a thank you, Yang Guang walked away in silence.
"If you don't want to talk about that then let's talk about the school sports day, because of your absence everything had to be slowed down." Ye Xing said once more as she chased after Yang Guang.
Sigh~
The sound of footsteps came to a halt, Yang Guang turned round and looked at Ye Xing. "Fine, let's talk." Yang Guang said as he pointed at a bench under the street lights.
The both of them took a seat and Ye Xing started asking the reason why Yang Guang's hair is grey in colour?
"That is out of the question." Yang Guang said as he texted Yu Chen to come out and help him hunt as he deals with Ye Xing.
"Then why is your eye green, do you wear contact lenses? Do you think you looked cool like that? Let me take a look." Ye Xing asked once more as she moved closer towards Yang Guang's face.
"Fine, here is your answer. One day when I was seven years old, my hair and eyes started to turn grey and green."
"The doctor said to me that it might had been some sort of genetic mutation, but I guessed it probably had something to do with my grandpa's training. You are happy now? Now stay away from me."
Their faces are right in front of each other, faint mist came out from of Ye Xing's mouth. Under the light they looked into the eyes of each other.
"Umm… so what are you doing here?" asked Ye Xing.
Yang Guang had enough of this and told her a few things to Ye Xing.
"Song City isn't safe. As you had experience last time there are a lot of dangers lurking around this city."
His legs straighten as he stood up from the bench. He then turned around and stared into Ye Xing's eyes and told her.
"That is why I'm here to protect everyone just like my parents and grandparents and the ones that came before them from the monsters."
"Although I sometimes failed at my job, I kept on doing it because I carried the hopes of the ones who died and died because of the monsters."
After Yang Guang had finished telling Ye Xing a bit about his story, he placed his hand onto her head and told her with a comforting smile.
"Now go home, the city isn't safe. You had experienced it first-hand right?"
Before Ye Xing could said anything her vision turned blurry as darkness slowly crept up to the edges of her eyes.
"So your house is quite close to the school? Let's bring you home then." Yang Guang said as he put Ye Xing's identification card back into her pocket and carried her in his arm.
Yang Guang dashed on the streets with Ye Xing in his hands, occasionally d.a.m.n creatures showed up on their path.
BAM
Yang Guang jumped and kicked them down as he hovered in the air for a moment, soul dust surrounded the both of them like fairy dust sparkling along with the stars.
Even with all the action, Ye Xing didn't wake up as Yang Guang's arms are steady while carrying her.
"We are here." Yang Guang said to himself as he jumped onto the second floor. He squatted onto the edge of the window along with Ye Xing.
He placed Ye Xing onto his shoulder and opened the window, as he placed her down gently onto her bed he laughed as he looked around.
"So this is what a girl's room looked like, quite messy and not even close to my imagination."
He then left her alone on the bed before softly telling her.
"Thank you for listening to my story."
The next morning, Ye Xing woke up with a smile on her face as she looked at the opened window before whispering…
"Thank you for bring me home."
