"Meera..." He said excitedly.
"I'm sorry you got the wrong person..." She said coldly and walked into her office.
"A... Aria..." He said hesitantly for it felt weird to call her that.
"Can you hurry up?" She said and sounded annoyed. She turns around and faced him
"I... I wanted to apologize to you." He said and was scared of her.
"That's it?" She said and looked into her eyes.
"Ca... can you please hear me out once..." He requested and lowered his head.
She rolled her eyes and walked out of the office. He followed her quietly. They were now standing in the hallway. No one was around and there was an awkward silence between them.
"Speak up!" She said and he flinched.
He kneeled in front of her and lowered his head. He stayed quiet for a second and then started speaking slowly.
"Meera, I'm sorry..." He said softly.
"It was all because of me... I'm sorry..." Tears started running down his eyes.
"I should have been a better person, I was a coward, I'm sorry for being such a jerk." He sobbed.
She backed away a bit for his words were affecting her she felt weak and was started to break. Noah was her trigger, someone who brought back her anxiety and fear. She remembered all the pain that she experienced in her past and was afraid that the past would repeat itself. Her hands started shaking but she clenched her fists tightly. She was determined to not let her feelings take over her.
"I should have believed you and our love... I'm sorry for all the pain that I gave you, I sorry for turning you into someone else... I'm sorry, Meera..." He said and he placed his head on the floor.
"I know I've done wrong and I don't deserve forgiveness... please give me one chance..." He said and looked up. She was motionless, he couldn't read her expressions and the pain that was hidden behind that cold mask.
"I know I lost when I was by your side, I left you alone but please give me a chance... I wanna prove myself again..." He begged her.
"I don't understand my feelings, I hated you earlier but when I saw you with someone else I felt uncomfortable. I felt like I lost something very important. I realized your value once I lost you. Please forgive me... give me another chance... I still love you... more than anything else..." He said and looked at her. She smiled softly and it gave him hope but then she started laughing. His last words seemed like a joke to her.
"You love me?!" She said as she laughed. He was confused at her reaction and felt kinda insulted.
"So basically, you're sorry for everything you did?" She asked him as she placed her hands over his shoulder and bent a bit.
"And you want me to be with you again, forgetting everything?" She asked and he nodded hesitantly for that was what he pretty much wanted.
"Do you take me for a fool?" She said and slapped him tightly, he fell on the floor.
"How can you be so selfish?" She asked him and he was shocked by her reaction.
"Have you ever even considered how I feel? Whenever you want to, you sleep with me and say you love me, the very next moment you say you don't trust me and are ready to kill me. Do you think I don't have feelings? I don't feel hurt when you trust anyone but me." She said loud and clear, he was feeling guilty of his behavior and finally saw how much he affected her.
"Please, Noah, just stop now..." She said and stepped back.
"Reflect on your actions and most importantly..." She said and pinched his face. "Understand that there's no turning back." She had a dark expression and he got s.h.i.+vers as he looked into her emotionless eyes.
"You can't go back in time." She said and shook his head away and left the room. He finally saw the truth he was running away from for so long.
"What a show!" Liam told Aria as he walked out of the corner.
"What the h.e.l.l are you doing here?" She asked in frustration.
"Stalking my fiance." He joked and stepped closer to her.
"I'm gonna break the engagement if you act like this again." She said and steps towards her office.
"You feeling better now?" He asked her.
"What do you mean?" She asks as she stops walking after hearing his words.
"You finally told him everything so feeling better now?" He said and stands beside her.
"I never felt bad." She said and steps forward. He grabs her hand and pulls her back, making her fall onto his chest. He puts her hands around her waist tightly, making it difficult for her to break free.
"Stop lying to yourself..." He said and looked into her eyes.
"What the h.e.l.l are you saying?" She said and looked away. He grabs her head and makes her look straight into his eyes.
"I said stop lying." He repeated.
"Just stop running from yourself, you can remove this mask, Ari, you can stop fighting now..." He said and comforted her. She got tears in his eyes but still pretended as if nothing was wrong.
"I don't know what you're talking about." She lied.
"Ari, please just stop..." He hugged her.
"You're not alone and I understand how you feel your pain..." She broke down into tears and hugged him back, he caressed her head.
"I'm tired now... I think I'm gonna kill myself one day but I'm afraid that I'll fall again, I'll be thrown back into that h.e.l.l again. I'm afraid..." She sobbed.
"No one's hurting you, Ari, you're safe now." He said and comforted her until she calmed down.
On the other side, Noah was heartbroken as well, but it wasn't as bad as Aria for he was finally coming out of his delusions. He realized that the reality is the opposite of his imagination, his actions would bring a result, and Aria's hate was the result of his actions. He saw the reality and it hit him hard. He was still in the hall for some time after she left, motionless and tears rolled down his eyes uncontrollably. Then finally got the courage to get out of that building. He was walking around blankly and didn't know what to do or where to go. The guilt of his deeds came straight into his face and made him fall from the top to the ground. He lost hope and felt as if he had lost hope and was stuck in darkness.
Across the city, in an abandoned alley someone was planning to finally attack back...
