Reflection In The Mirror 7 Prepare For The Storm

A hole that appeared in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean about 200 years ago. Some people say it's the Bermuda Triangle unrevealed while the others say it's the gate to h.e.l.l. A year after it opened, truly nightmarish creatures started pouring out of the hole. 

    Humans called them beasts. They invaded the world, destroyed everywhere they went. They had strange powers only shown in fantasy and sci-fi, their looks varied from Angelic to Demonic. 

  After a constant battle k57 years the humans won and the Beasts retreated back to the pit. 

During those grueling years, humans, plants and animals mutated. Many half breeds were born during those times and when the war ended they were treated with scorn.  They started building a place for themselves beside the pit. 

   That's how "The Underworld" was born. 

  Now, beast ancestry humans or the Beasts caught by the pit are sold for a high price. For their power, to be used as a soldier or experiment or for a whole other reason. These humans are born with unique characteristics. 

  Such as different hair or eye color or extra appendages. 

     Hide entered the Underworld for the first time for that reason. He had been kidnapped on his way home and sold to the former Don Hide. 

   Ironic isn't it? But he isn't here to remember that. 

   Stepping into the port, Hide pulled his hood over. Now wasn't the time to mull over the fact that everyone and their grandma knew.

    The point was, The Underworld exists over and surrounding the Pit with a fighting arena in the middle of the pit. Being thrown from there is an instant death for the person. 

  'No one survives the Pit. Once fallen they can never climb back out"

   This was the common knowledge between the residents of The Underworld. So one must be careful of where they step and what they do. 

   Second thing to pay attention to is how you behave. Even if this place was the criminal activity center of the world, there is still a clear hierarchy and you need to treat those above you with respect and go by their command if you want to rise high. 

   Absolute power corrupts absolutely. But it also gains you the chance of survival higher than the others. If you defeat the boss of one famiglia in a fight and kill them under a witness's eyes then you will become the next Boss of the said Famiglia. 

  And once you're on top of the hierarchy then you are free to do whatever you wish. No one will stop you, not even the government unless a third party gets involved and you are caught red handed. 

   Hide laughed bitterly to himself, bringing his hand up to m.u.f.fle it. Only a few weeks ago Hide had been on the top of this very world. He had everything he wanted. Money, power, loyal subordinates and love. 

  But then Roy Moonrise stumbled into their world and sought justice even winning the annual power showdown of every 3 years. Then the woman (Liliana Coldwell will pay dearly) seduced and wiggled herself into the Hero's embrace and sold him out.  And his life now is in shambles. 

  Taking a deep breath, Hide calmed himself down. Standing there at the port, he could still see the remains of Hide Familigia's homebase. It wasn't the only base sure, they had many over the world even ones that the rat didn't know off. 

    He may have loved her but he wasn't a fool to lay down all his cards. 

  The man pulled the hood a little closer and started walking, leaving the port behind as he made his way to the ruins. Just one more time and when he gets back in power, he will rebuild it. 

   His legs moved as they led him through the familiar buildings and road, all burned in his memory. How many times had he walked like this very same road? It was countless. 

     Coming to stand behind the ruins of what was once had been the tallest and most elegant building, the former Don Hide starred.  Woods and breaks littered everywhere. Bricks and burned walls, a barely standing building with its roof caving in. But they weren't what caught his attention 

    No, the thing that caught his attention was the Graves surrounding the ruins. Marked with personal items and symbols, The Don felt his throat tighten for he regnorized every one of those symbols and items. 

    He stepped forward as his hand trailed every gravestone and wood he could. 

   'Lana, Age 28. Sharp shooter, eye of horus.' 

'Edward, age 51. Executor, gloves' 

  'Hummingbird, age 14. Apprentice, notebook with hummingbird.'

  'Federico, age 35. A Mook, mark of a dog and a silver lighter.' 

  And countless more…. 

   These were his people, the people who served him until their dying breath. Lana dreamed of becoming a model, Edward spent all his life serving the Familigia, Hummingbird wanted to become head maid and succeed taking over the workforce, Federico had a 6 year old daughter and 2 years old son, his wife was now a Widow. 

    If they all hadn't sworn loyalty to him, they could have lived. Edward had been the oldest, he should have retired long ago. Hummingbird should have not been abandoned and sold like him. She had been a sweet girl. Federico should have seen his children grow up, Lana should have left the Mafia when she could have. 

  It was all his fault, not the brat's nor that woman's. They only died because they trusted him to take care of them. 

  Closing his eyes, Hide pushed back the tears, shutting the whispers of the demons. He won't let their sacrifices be lost. His hand curled into fist. He will rise again, he will take over the Underworld and more. 

  But ho-

Sound of cheering interrupted his train of thoughts. 

Hide felt a dark smirk stretch on his face as he remembered another rule. Yes this might prove to be useful. 

  3rd rule of the Underworld. If the ruling boss of the Underworld leaves/dies/gets caught without an appointed heir or his killer taking over the seat then the tournament for the top dog position will be held. Anyone interested in the seat can compete but they must have a  famiglia to partic.i.p.ate. 

     Once the winner was made clear, others may also challenge them on One vs One. If the winner loses the One vs One then the person who won will be appointed as the new top dog. 

   Ironically, whole cheating during a fight is allowed, bribing isn't. And anyone caught bribing the neutral party then they will be killed the traitor way. 

   With a grin on his face, Hide made his way towards the center of this dark city. The demons cheered, l.u.s.ting for blood. 

  Well, the only thing that is needed for him right now is famiglia isn't it? But that can be solved rather easily. 

   It seems like it's finally the time to call in the favor Camelia owed him. 

   Underworld should prepare itself. Cause the chaos was only starting~
