Caesar walked out of his study and entered the halls. The maid-servants at the side bowed deeply as he walked by. The red carpet streaked across the ground and not a single spec of dust could be found. His white hair swayed behind his back as he walked, not even bestowing a single glance for the maids.
His steps were resolute as he finally made it to the palace gates. The guards opened the doors once they caught sight of Caesar and bowed deeply. The sunlight escaped through the crack in the gates and beautifully illuminated his figure as he departed.
He adorned a long-sleeved, b.u.t.ton-up s.h.i.+rt. His collar wasn't b.u.t.toned and parts of his chest could be seen. The sleeves were rolled up to his elbows and it perfectly matched his slightly tight, black pants and s.h.i.+n-high boots.
His appearance was rather eye-catching and vastly different from his normal look. He looked much more devilish then normal, not to mention his eyes which were routinely squinted. Even the nearby pedestrians were afraid of his imposing figure.
Like this, Caesar headed to the training grounds. He was still in dire need of training. Although his vampiric physique was powerful, he could still be considered an amateur compared to many other strong fighters.
Even with his eye capabilities, ice magic, and authority, he was still unable to defeat both Musas.h.i.+ and Zul'thar without dying himself. His glaring weaknesses were apparent to himself, more so than others. However, only time could fix them. After all, perfection was not something that could be rushed.
Thinking to here, he soon arrived at the entrance of the training grounds. The many hard working knights entered into his line of sight. Sweat drenched their clothes as they either meditated, practiced swordsmans.h.i.+p, or simply ran laps. Even Bronson was busy wielding a wooden sword. His body wasn't quite yet fit, but a lot of his fat had disappeared; even some signs of muscles emerged on his legs.
Such a sight pleased Caesar as he inconspicuously entered and unb.u.t.toned his s.h.i.+rt, throwing it to the side. His perfect abdominal muscles showcased themselves and he started to do some basic stretches. Of course, his figure was soon spotted and the knights couldn't help but feel confused at his actions.
In the past, he had briefly trained with them, but they figured he was too strong to train any longer. In fact, they felt that his strength was otherworldly, so they couldn't comprehend why he wanted to gain more power.
Their curiosity didn't bother Caesar in the slightest, in contrast, he couldn't care less. Once he was done stretching, he used his ice magic to fully envelope his muscles. This world was incredibly different in comparison to earth, thus, he would temper his body in outrageous ways.
The chilly wind immediately a.s.saulted Caesar's s.h.i.+rtless body and even ice crystals started to form on his abdominal muscles. Even then, he still took out his scythe from his storage ring and began training with it. He continuously pooled his mana into both weapon and body, attempting to train his mana control to the next level.
If his hypothesis was correct, then he required an ample amount of mana control, bodily control, and more knowledge to evolve. His physique wasn't as simple as it was when he first arrived, his eye ability was a testament to that fact.
As such, an exhausting routine was slowly formed. Caesar practiced his scythe and mana manipulation abilities for over an hour before beginning his physical training. The droplets of sweat that trailed down his face froze once they came into contact with his ice magic.
A few hefty weights were attached to Caesar's ankles, wrists, waist, back, and even shoulders. They were all incredibly heavy and he ran dozens of laps around the training grounds with them on. Even when his body was nearly too sore to continue, or too numb to feel, he continued.
The nearby knights were flabbergasted at his h.e.l.lish self-training. nonetheless, they felt ashamed at the fact that they were simply watching. Soon, the knights joined Caesar in running around the training grounds, none of them would stop until he did.
This continued until the sun went down and darkness encroached upon the training grounds. The faint moonlight barely irradiated the dozens of fallen figures lying on the ground. All of them were heaving sighs exasperation as they glanced at Caesar's collapsed body.
Ice crystals formed on the ends of his hair and his skin was deathly pale. However, he soon halted his ice magic and shakily stood up. His body was aching and the pain he had resisted was not to be taken lightly. Especially since he was a businessman in the past, this was an almost unparalleled feat.
Caesar soon dusted off his b.u.t.tocks and placed his s.h.i.+rt back on, showcasing no signs of his previous exhaustion. It wasn't that he had recovered, rather, he was just hiding it. A stoic expression remained on his face as exited the training grounds, heading for the place his two buildings were being created.
The knights could only gaze upon his retreated back tongue-tied. None of them were stupid, they were painfully aware of how much pain he was currently enduring. All of them had trained to their limits, however, when your limit was higher, it induced much more pain to reach it.
Unaware of their sentimental thought, Caesar soon arrived close to the middle-region of Rahvin kingdom. Most of the buildings in the area were somewhat fancy but a noticeably larger building far outcla.s.sed the rest. It was a like flower in a garden of weeds, its brilliance was further accentuated by the ugly surroundings.
Next to it, a rather ugly shack was placed. No effort was seemingly put into the building, a huge contrast to its neighbor. The tall building was built out of the most precious of materials that s.h.i.+mmered even within the night. The windows were sparkling clean and the door was made out of thick and elegant wood. The handles on the door were golden in color and the cost of the building could be imagined.
Unfortunately, it wasn't yet complete and Caesar's hired mason was putting the finis.h.i.+ng touches onto it. He heaved a deep sigh as he ma.s.saged his right shoulder. "Still no progression…? Am I approaching the problem incorrectly?" he whispered to himself, an expression full of confliction written on his face.
"Tsk, I'll try again tomorrow… I only have 1 week left." He said with a click of his tongue whilst returning to the palace. It felt as though his evolution progress had hit a bottle-neck, but he just couldn't manage to transverse it.
