'This is the best equipment thing that could have possibly happened. Not only will I get stronger, I am progressing quickly. Maybe I will make it big, in something I do and get a n.o.bility t.i.tle. That would be the best. For me and everyone back home.'
The servant of Erebus was still standing outside. I only noticed her when she let out a small sigh at the goofy gri, that was plastered across my face.
"My master would like to speak with you, now that you are done with the duke. Please follow me."
I just nodded my head as I walked behind her. This time we didn't stop at all, also she didn't talk to me as well.
So it didn't take us long to arrive at another part of the camp. This part had the dukes banner flying over it. Signifying that it was where the dukes troops were camped.
She led me to a tent which was out the way of the rest. As I walked past the soldiers though, I could feel their gazes piercing into my back. I also heard some mummers and that I had a magic sword.
The tent that Erebus had, looked alot like the dukes tent. Except that it was smaller and lacked the banners outside the front of it.
The servant walked straight in. Holding the tent flap open for me to enter it as well.
Walking in, I saw Erebus sitting on a small chair, looking at his sword.
"Sir, you wanted to see me."
"Ah, yes kid. Do you mind telling me what the duke wanted off of you?"
"He just wanted to give me a choice. A choice of the path I want to take from where I am now. I choose to be a ranger. Not that it was what he wanted me to do though."
"Well that's good. I'm glad you choose to be a ranger, it is probably the best choice for someone from a more common background. The knight and officer academies are filled with people who think that their n.o.ble status is more important than their skill. It often causes people who are not n.o.bles to give up and leave or in the worst case, be murdered."
My face paled when he said this. 'Even if the duke gave me his support, my life could have been forfeit as soon as I arrived.'
"Until someone comes to get you. I would have Dorcha here, take you to where you will be staying. I think you will find some of your comrades there. So have a good night."
Dorcha the servant. Led me out of Erebus's tent after I had said goodbye, we walked in between a few tents, arriving at a smaller campfire. Then she stopped.
"I will be leaving you here. If you go to the fire, I am sure you will find someone who will help you."
Just before she left, I grabbed her arm.
"Thank you, for helping me find my way around."
She smiled at me for the first time since I had met her.
"It's fine. If you want to meet me later. Just walk to where the servants are camped. If you come. I think we both would have a lot of fun in the night."
Then she walked off, giving me a little wave, before she was completely out of my sight.
After seeing her go, I turned around and walked to the campfire. As I got next to it
Some arms clammed round my waist, holding me there. Then I felt the tip of a knife touch the back of my throat.
"Sergeant, how are you already getting offers of women to join them in their beds at night? It's not fair. I have been trying for days and nothing is working."
"How about Ordreath you take the knife off of my throat and I will tell you."
"Really? Ok."
As soon as he took the knife away from my throat. I turned around looking at his expectant face. I said, "Well, you need to be handsome and nice. Oh and have a magic sword."
As I said the last part, his face turned into one of annoyance.
"Damm, it seems like I need one of those. Why don't you lend me your one sergeant. I really need this."
"Ordreath, this is the first time in days we have seen each other and you are asking for my sword so that you can get laid! Come on! What do you think I am?"
He then turned a bit sheepish, this was due to the fact a lot of people were now watching us as they had heard what I had yelled out. But to my surprise and Oredreath's they all started asking for my sword as well.
"What are you all? Are you all s.e.x driven beasts?"
In unison they yelled, "Yes!"
Something in my mind cracked at that point.
"I am going. Who needs to be around people like all of you."
'Usha should be around here somewhere, I hope. She better not like to be like this lot. Well if hse is, I will be walking into the dragon den.'
It didn't take me long to arrive at a different area of the duke's camp. Here it was filled with women. As soon as I entered I garnered a lot of attention. Unfortunately for me, it was a lot of bad attention as all of their eyes seemed like they wanted to suck my soul away and cut off my private parts. As more of their gazes went there, I subconsciously moved my hand to cover it.
'I am not losing these, dream on.'
"Adoh, is that really you?"
My eyes darted to the origin of the voice. It was usha.
"Yes of course it is me. It's not like someone stole my body now is it."
She stood up and walked over to me. When she stood in front me, I got a ma.s.sive slap.
My face sore, from the slap. I looked at her with eyes of confusion. Then before giving me a chance to react. She slapped the other side of my cheek.
Before she could slap me again. I grabbed both of her arms.
"G.o.d dammit, Usha. What has gotten into you?"
"Well let me think Adih, how about you disappearing for days? We all thought you were dead."
She broke down into tears at that moment and rushed into my chest.
'What the h.e.l.l is going on? Usha is crying, Ordreath has become a s.e.x focused beast.'
As I thought about what the others could be like, I froze as I heard some footsteps behind me. Turning around with Usha in my arms, I saw Ordreath and the over eight of them.
"Welcome back Adoh, well welcome back to the living, our magic sword wielding sergeant."
