Arachnomancer 49 King And Queen

If we have to fight our way out it would be best to think of a strategy. I discuss with everyone and eventually settle with this. Me, Kess, Set, and Vulki will try to kill the king and queen as quickly as possible while Xelu and Nemesis along with the spiderlings, will hold the rest of the metal cow people back. I lay down a few poison pools preemptively while Nemesis and Kess start laying web in case a few metal soldiers break through.

As soon as I step off the altar, a ma.s.sive aura of hostility was born. The cow shadow disappeared into nothingness as the King and Queen's eyes light up red. I run back up the altar and stealth along with Set. Kess spikes their feet making a very sharp metallic noise. The king ends up stumbling into a poison pool. It doesn't just have a poisonous nature. It's a very potent acid as well. The queen quickly pulls the king by his feet while green vapors spring off of him.

*Roooooooooaaaaaaaa

He screams in rage. I hide on the otherside of a poison pool as Kess and Vulki prepare to take the King on. I shoot a few poison lances towards the queens feet. It does more damage than the poison pools as I see a good bit of her armor is corroded quickly. She looks towards me. c.r.a.p..... Set quickly detaches and disappears somewhere while I kite the queen around one of the pools.

A few seconds later I see a rune glow on the back of her helmet. Set must have helped. The queen starts raging as well as she tries to clear off the rune with her arms but, unfortunately, her armor is too bulky. She ignores me for a moment and- ehhh? She dunked her head into the poison pool clearing off the rune. Smart.

*Gingaling

Vulki used her bells and both of our opponents start wobbling. I see can see the King's armor is deformed and part of it is a grey color. It seems Vulki's flames don't just drain life ehhh..... I quickly cast a few more poison lances towards the Queen's feet. After taking damage she breaks out of Vulki's hallucinations and starts towards Kess. I re-enter stealth as I run over. It seems that Set has been helping to take down the king as I see several runes over his body. His armor is even more deformed and has cracks where it is grey. All three of them must have gone all out after Vulki used her bells.

I warn Kess who is the Queens target through telepathy. She quickly retreats and shoots a few spikes in between her and the queen. I use poison control and start las.h.i.+ng whips of poison from the nearby poison pool at her feet. She turns and charges me down. c.r.a.p! I dodge by jumping into one of my poison pools. My lower half is submerged melting off my armor and clothing. Luckily I'm immune to poison and apparently, acid. I stay in the pool for now and start throwing more whips towards her but, I quickly retreat further after seeing what she's doing. A few rocks whiz past my head and make ma.s.sive splashes. I manage to dodge long enough for the others to finish off the king as a mournful roar blasts.

I look over along with the queen who reaches out. The king.... Melts? Into a stream that flows turns into the queen's hand, turning into a ma.s.sive halberd. Her eyes turn from red to a deep black. I quickly use my necklace's ability- bark skin. She waves it over the pool sending me flying from the shockwave.

*Cough

I spot out a good bit of blood with a few chunks..... Luckily I had that otherwise.... Kess and Vulki rage as they strow themselves at the queen. A blue-green cloud also fills the entire room. Spores. They start attaching thmeselves to the queen.... They start coalescing into vine-like structures that try to impeded her movements. Set returns and quickly draws an extremely realistic picture of me on the ground and I end up feeling much better. That healing ability is quite bizzare but, works wonders. I re-stealth again and launch an attack on her feet again. Kess and Vulki notice the damage done to her feet and start aiming there as well. Not only that it seems that Vulki used her one ability that steals faces. The mask looks to be made of metal. The queen who's vision is blinded by losing her face, feet are damaged, and movements are being more and more impared by vines, rages.....

Her armor starts to turn a hot red. Kess, who is close ends up taking the full force of her attack, cho-.....

"Set go help her!!!" Gin

I start using poison control..... Waves and waves roll in on her. I pick the queen up with them, high into the air and, smash her into a poison pool like a meteor. Cracks splinter the bricks, even reaching up the walls. Realizing that I'm out of mana I try to rush over with a machete that I never thought I'd use but, Vulki stops me. The queen struggles out of the pool and collapses. I have a bunch of notifications pop up but, I need to know Kess' condition. I walk over to see Set looking down.....

"Kess disappeared into particles.... She needs resummoned....." Set

I turn cold. I know that Set, Xelu, Vulki, Kess, and Nemesis can't truly die. However seeing them wounded, hurts me. Seeing Kess die. Hurts me. This will continue on until the future. Seeing them die..... With strong enemies appearing in the future, we can only fight to prevent death..... I can try to hermit myself as much as I want but, to get stronger is the only way. I've had reservations with attacking the drow due to 'morality'..... Perhaps It's time to put that sort of thing behind me until we are strong enough to accept something like morality.
