"Excuse me for a minute, I'll call Mr. Briggs first. He must be here before you both sign the contracts." She immediately dialled her boss number whom she just recently saved.
"Oohh, you seem thrilled to share this good news to your future man, dear. Take your time." The woman teased.
She froze. 'Am I that obvious?' she pretended that she didn't hear her remark and went outside the VIP room.
....
Clifford was enjoying his time with the bunch of kids who were squealing in delight as he ordered them one by one of their task to make a huge sand castle.
"Your dad ish amaszhing, Clark." A little girl of about his age complimented.
Clark looked at him with his eyes amazed and he grinned.
"I know right." The child said proudly. Clifford could help it but chuckled at the child's answer.
His phone suddenly rang. He looked at it and saw Ingrid's name flashed on the screen. Immediately he swiped to answer.
"Yes, Ingrid, what's up. Any news?"
"We got it! We are all waiting for you to come over. Please hurry." Ingrid almost squeal in delight but then she heard some waves and children shrieking in laughter "...where are you?" she demanded.
"Uh, we're at the–beach.. playing." Ingrid rolled her eyes.
"Geezz! You were tricked by my son. You both come this instant!" she roared and hangs up the phone.
"Oopps the tigress is on the loose..." he chuckled. He went back to the bunch of kids who were still busy forming the castle. "... I am sorry children, but Clark and I need to go back, mommy's angry already, we are caught, Clark."
The child abruptly stood up, gathered his stuffs and ran to his 'daddy' and they scurried to the VIP room and forgot to change their outfits.
Ingrid looked at her watch and it's past eleven o'clock already. So she called the waiter to order their lunch and as well as the wine.
"Serve us the best of the chef's choice, please."
When she entered the room, the couple were still reading the contracts while waiting for Mr. Briggs to arrive.
"He will be here any minute soon –" she was interrupted when the door suddenly opened and the duo came into view. Both were full of sand, Clark was on Clifford's arms that was just wearing his trunks while he was dishevelled but still look smoking hot.
"What a lovely sight we have here." The woman clapped her hands in delight and then she stood up and came over to the two. "...you are such an adorable boy. Come here, please."
As obedient as he was, Clark climbed down from Clifford's and went to the old woman.
"You are and will be the delight of your parents." She then kissed the child's cheeks. "...darling, I miss our grandchildren already." She turned to her husband's direction.
"I apologize for my son's appearance, Mrs. Jeffries," she said apologetically and discreetly glared at Clifford.
"Are you kidding me? I love it... Clifford here did an excellent job in babysitting your son. Such a responsible father." She winked.
"But Mrs. Jeffries–" the woman chuckled.
"Don't forget what I told you. It will just be a matter of time, you'll see." Ingrid was puzzled of the woman's words and tried to remember her words. She covered her mouth the moment she huffed and her eyes widen by embarra.s.sment.
"Care to enlighten me what did you tell her, Mrs. Jeffries?" Clifford barged in.
"It's between us, son. I bet, you'll know it later." She smiled knowingly.
"Honey, come sit here, we still have contracts to sign," her husband put her teasing to a standstill as he observed that Ingrid is becoming uncomfortable.
Without delay they both sign the contracts and shook hands.
"I've already ordered our lunch, we'll just have to wait for it. And while waiting, I think I need to go back to the suite to change my son's clothes,"
"Oh you go dear, Clark might catch a cold." Mr. Jeffries said with concern.
