"I... uhh.." Ingrid hesitated.

"Please?" his face is so hopeful that Ingrid could only wish that someone would rescue her in this dilemma.

She slowly reached his hands and stood up. The violinist is now purposeful in playing and is so engrossed in the music he played.

Another spot was specifically prepared as their mini dance floor. They stood their face to face and then unhurriedly Lance slid down his hand on Ingrid's back while the other is holding her hand. Ingrid closed her eyes when she felt his hands on her back. And as if in a dream, she remembered the dance Clifford and she had on their blind date.

She was startled at the thought and immediately she opened her eyes and inwardly shakes off her thoughts.

'Why am I thinking about it? What has gotten into my mind?'

"Ingrid..." Lance called her again.

"Yes?"

"Do you remember the picture I showed you earlier?" she nodded. "...ever since that day, I vowed to only love you until my last breath." Lance voice exuded with warmth and full of emotion.

"LLance.." Ingrid tried to pull away from him. But he is now holding her tightly and she gasp at it. Because of his strong clutch, she is starting to panic.

"Please allow me to speak what's in my heart." His voice was calm.

Lance knew that this woman will try to evade him. Then Ingrid slowly calmed and tried to focus her thoughts on Lance.

"I've been watching and waiting for you from afar. I was there when you were celebrating your birthdays every year, while you are at school talking to Liane. At times I just make some excuses to come to your house, but during those times, you never knew my existence because you have no interest in being in a relations.h.i.+p and I was happy and content, then."

Ingrid just keeps on listening and did not interfere.

"But when you decided to have a boyfriend, I was so brokenhearted but I encouraged myself that I will eventually get over you after that. But, the moment I knew that you were tricked by that sc.u.m, I almost ruined that b.a.s.t.a.r.d by spreading the video in the internet. That's why, I swore that I will not give up on you."

Ingrid was shock at his revelation. "Is it you who spread the video? How did you know about it?"

"Well, I was just pa.s.sing by to go to your dad's study, when I overheard it while you and Liane were talking in the garden. The moment I heard it, I outrightly called the best hacker; so I hacked her phone and uploaded the video."

"Gos.h.!.+ It was you all along..." Ingrid could not believe what she is hearing now. 'What more could he do?'

"That's why, from this day forward. I will no longer hold back, Ingrid. You've been taken away from me for so many years and I will not allow it that you'll be taken away again from me. I will wholeheartedly court you. Please give me a chance."

"I-I don't know, Lance, but I have already resolved that I will not get married." She said firmly.

"To be honest, I was the man you are supposed to marry before..."

Without hesitation Ingrid pulled away from him abruptly. But Lance still caught her hands. But she wiggled from him.

"Whaattt?? You were the man I was supposed to marry? Oh no..." Ingrid was startled. Her hands are now covering her mouth, her eyes grew wider.

"Why?"

"Your dad and mine during that birthday, jokingly arranged a marriage for us in the future. And that picture.." he pointed at the hanged picture, "...was taken as a reminder. But your father did not put it to heart. When I was sure about my feelings to you, I told him that I want to marry you. That's why before he died he and your father made a covenant."
