This time, he saw her talking to the two middle-aged men laughing and having fun. He was in trance upon seeing her in her s.e.xy mermaid evening dress; his eyes roam all over her and could not take his eyes off her. Then he heard someone intentionally cough.
"Son, are you still with us?" his father smiled and also looked to where he is staring.
"Ahh yes, pardon? I haven't heard it clearly."
"Hmm why not you go over her and invite her for a dance." His father suggested full of amus.e.m.e.nt.
"Who?"
"The lady you've been staring for a while." He grinned even more. He just ignored his father and slip back to his cold aura.
Ingrid on the other hand was talking to one of the business partner of the company.
"You look stunning tonight, Ingrid," Mr. Jefferson said admiringly, "I would love to pair you up with my eldest son," Ingrid laughed.
"Hahaha you're kidding Mr. Jefferson, right?"
"Unfortunately, no. He'll be here any minute," he smiled genuinely.
"Ohh, you overshadowed my plans Jefferson in introducing my son to her. My son will also be here any minute. I would love to introduce him to you, if it's okay." Mr. Lindsey commented, another middle aged man said. Ingrid is amused.
"Hmm could we just talk about business gentlemen," she diverted the topic.
"If I were your father I could never been proud of you, Ingrid." He saw fondness in Mr. Jefferson's eyes.
"Gentlemen," someone talked behind them. They looked back and saw Mr. Clint smiling while his son, Clifford looked cold as usual far from the relaxed stance he showed on that fateful night.
"I would like you to meet my son, Clifford Briggs. This is Mr. Jefferson Hudson and Mr. Daniel Lindsey."
"The famous Clifford Briggs, we've met at last, I've heard so many things about you. One of it is you acquiring the Veanco's fifty percent shares." Mr. Lindsey shook hands with Clifford.
"How could I forget you Mr. Lindsey, the man behind the tallest buildings in this country. The pleasure is mine." The man smiled widely upon hearing him.
"Mr. Jefferson, I would love to visit one of your beautiful high end resorts some day."
"Hahaha your son did his homework, Clint." Mr. Clint laughed and tapped his son's back.
"He could surpa.s.s what I have achieved in business." Then he s.h.i.+fted his gaze to Ingrid.
"Ingrid, I could not recognize you, you are so lovely in that dress, dear." Still Clifford stood stiff and stared coldly at her.
"You're so kind, Mr. Clint." Ingrid then blushed.
"I agree with you, Clint, and I want to introduce my son to her. Oh! Look, he is already here." Mr. Jefferson waved at a tall and fine-looking man. "Mr. Clint, Clifford meet my son, Greg."
"Good evening, Mr. Clint and Mr. Clifford, I am so pleased to meet you."
"And son, meet Ingrid Howard." Greg was stunned on seeing her.
"Have we met before, Ingrid?"
"I believe we haven't met anywhere, Mr. Greg." She said stiffly. The man then took her hands and kissed it at the same time Ingrid was shocked on what Greg did.
Clifford narrowed his eyes on what Greg did.
"Would you like some drink, Ingrid?" he said flirtatiously.
"Ugh, not yet, I have something else to do later, and I need to be sober."
Clifford cleared his throat.
"Ahh Mr. Greg, I heard that you are considering investing in Veanco, is that true?" Clifford interrupted their talk.
"Yes, I am still considering it; we are still in the middle of planning about the proposal. I'll let you know as soon as possible." Both men glared and sized up each other.
"Ingrid here could be of help," Mr. Clint suggested wearing a sinister smile. "..she is one of the best financial a.n.a.lyst in this country. All her judgment is certainly accurate." His voice full of pleasure.
"Oh really?" Clifford raised his left brow.
